Hollywood impossible challenge: Make a horror movie where the military AREN’T the dumbest people alive.
A shame, given how Hollywood is founded on a country that wouldn't be where it is today without the military. Yet when we get movies where we see actual military competence, ya get complaints everywhere
Well, not all of them, at least.
If I were the scientist, I wouldn't have given the colonel a second chance.
That's not a situation where dick-swinging can be tolerated, it's post-end-of-the-world and trying to get it back.
Considering the military's track record, it's not too far off.

movie is a lot more hilarious if you look at it like this guy is a total grifter whos lying about the whole thing. His bite, being able to talk to them, all so the military who is clearly too stupid to know better, protects him in a world gone mad

I like how he was talking to the infected but if you look closely the infected is like kinda crying and looks sad
The scene: Wow we're getting some good progress and data here, there's a real chance to understand more about these infected from an inside perspective.

Noticed that, doesnt make sense to me why they do that. I mean is an American accent realy needed for the story and if so why didnt they just get American actors
Simple as a dimple. Talent. They wanted the best talent in their film and saw the best in them despite their on-off accent. If you got talent, people will overlook anything.

Andrew Lincoln playing Rick Grimes really fooled me! Couldn't tell he was British at all
@@gregbarnes4083 It did help a lot that Andrew Lincoln was doing a Southern accent for Rick Grimes. American Southern accents are significantly easier for people with English accents to pick up (there are reasons why that is but, I won't get into it). I'm sure it also helped that they really did film in the South (Georgia) so, he got to be immersed in that accent on the regular.

I haven't watched the Walking Dead beyond a few episodes years ago, but I'll hazard a guess that Mr. Lincoln used a non-rhotic (i.e., "r-dropping") Southern dialect as a basis for Rick's voice, so it might've been easier for him to learn when compared to something more dissimilar like Californian Bay Area English
@@YoungsterJoey151 If you really wanna get into it, the Southern accent is really the easiest because it "sits" in a similar placement to an English accent in the mouth/throat. A standard American accent has a very different placement (if memory serves, English & Southern US tend to be more forward towards the mouth & nose, while standard American is towards the back of the throat). Which means even if you are technically pronouncing everything correctly, if your voice is in the wrong "placement", it will still sound off without you being able to pinpoint exactly why. It's the biggest mistake English actors make and you can actually hear it a bit in Matt's US accent here. He tends to have a little trouble with his American accent placement so, it makes the accent come out a little more nasal or just slightly off sometimes. That change in placement kinda does half the work in making pronunciations sound natural, which is why American Southern is much easier for the English.
So they need to find patient zero so they can use its blood to create some sort of cure… yet they don’t think to do this with the person that was bitten and didn’t turn into a zombie…?

This is one of those incredibly frustrating movies. A movie where it should have been at least good, could have been great, but ended up terrible.

I think this movie is FASCINATING
Because it’s trying, maybe even a little bit too hard, to be different. But at least it’s trying in the first place, it really does prove the point of even if a story isn’t exactly “new” in terms of plot or tropes, execution is what matters above all else

Natalie Dormer has to be one of the most attractive women ever.
These people spent years acting in the same TV Show and then they had to turn around and play completely new characters in a vastly different setting, still together. I'd find it so difficult trying to be different people to the same faces.
