The High Priest’s curse attempt must have been hard to get through the first time without laughing haha
"To me, I see a happy face!"
LMAO
That sheep rectum line finally made sense to me,i didn't get it as a kid
Definitely a cult classic. Didnt realize people genuinely think this is a bad movie and not on the same level as any other parody type film of the time. Underrated for sure.
It's f@#king hilarious
So good
Parody type film?….or indoctrination and ρrοραgαndα?
1:20 The ΕαςτεrΝ ΟrτΗοδοχ Christian Roman Empire, led by glittering Constantinople, was NOT like this. The Monarchy, was loyal to the people, and the people to the Emperor in symphonia (Harmoniously in agreement) with the Church. The rich and powerful, oligarchy however, can be treacherous to the people, and especially to the Monachy, which defended the people from the oligarchy.

@@MaxStArlyn dont be a fucking pussy, its a parody film. Thinking its anything MORE is just pure REACHING
Critics hated this movie, stonners bonded with their friends over all the laughs it provided.
I'm with the critics if this clip is anything to go by.
There were a few things that were a bit funny.
I watched this in a theater when it came out and I remember enjoying it. But, I wasn't a stoner (not in 2009 anyway) and I certainly didn't bond with friends over it (or any other movie for that matter). You shouldn't make those kinds of assumptions.
Underrated movie, Jack should have gotten an Oscar or Emmy or at least a participation trophy.
I would love to see Jack win an Oscar participation trophy 😂 I just know the thank you speech would be hilarious!
Nacho Libre was his greatest movie. It will be a classic
Emmys are for TV shows dude
@@WhiskeyDip OP might not have been sure what kind of movie (theatrical or TV) this was and said both awards, just in case.
What is the name of the movie?

*Humanity 1.1*

Yeah, and much of humanity is still there sadly.

Sure, they might be disproven later on but right now science is the best method we have of finding the trurh.
The plot may not be that good, but Jack Black's acting was hilarious.
The Priest hit it out of the park!
I actually like the plot. Two bachelors on the wild after being being thrown out by the village for violating the only law xD.

If Plebs took off in North America this movie would have been more popular
Because it wasnt funny.
"History of the World -Part One" is funny.
So it "Monty Python and the Holy Grail."
This is like a bad SNL skit made into a movie.
“Why? Are you lovers?”
“What? No, that would be weird, we’re both guys.”
*visible confusion*
Took me a while to recognize Kage
@@ES-os7ko Kage absolutely killed it in this movie.
It wouldn’t have been like this in Ancient Rome. Rome was heavily influenced by “Greekness” and they would have been influenced by Sparta not only Athens. Sparta was admired, but most sources, about Sparta was written by groups outside of Sparta. Today, most activist, modern, historians have been limited in their research. They have been mislead, by bad translations, and rewarded, when they depict sexuality in Sparta to be something it wasn’t. They have been motivated, to push a flawed perception of which in reality, was the opposite. Even sexuality in Athens has been exaggerated, so no doubt the same has been done when it comes to Ancient Rome.
This movie was one of the best ever! Year Two, anyone.
Dude its.....4.9 rating......
@@Mirakuruuu If it has a high rating, I usually don't watch it, because it will usually be overly dramatic, politically correct, and perverted, and not even in a funny way. I mean, that disgusting pedo movie "Cuties" got an 8.6 rating. Goes to show that Hollywood and its culture is rotten to the core.
@@kjbigslim Thats a fair point. But i dont just look at the rating. I also look what the movie is about before watching. Now why on earth would i want to watch Cuties instead of Dunes part 2.

I remembered watching this movie for the first time and right at the moment that I saw " Kyle Gas" as the eunuch, I said in my mind " this movie is really up to no good" this is just stupidly hilarious.
Idc that most people hated this movie when it came out. It’s one of the best comedy movies ever made. When I can still laugh my ass off at 30 at a movie I laughed my ass off as a teenager, itmust be one of the best in the world. Very very very few movies make me laugh on a second or more viewing, this and Taladega nights are two of those movies. That’s high praise coming from me.
That's called nostalgia, my friend. We all have it for something or another we grew up with and it makes it difficult to look at those things objectively. Hits us right in the same feels we had years ago

I out this movie in a similar category as Monty python and the holy grail. A hilarious bunch of sketches put together to form a movie.
the reason this movie failed is because Egon trusted those guys from the office. the office sucks at making movies or even anything that isn't the office.

This movie is hilarious. Critics shredded it for failure to story build and some scenes seemed more like skits than parts of a movie. They can tear apart technical aspects of the movie if they want but it’s a comedy and it brought the laughs.
@@closequarters4575that is a legitimate complaint. The connecting story is incredibly weak, and the strong parts seem like independent ideas they already had and worked them into this story. Like that awful ridiculous six Sandler movie, that has a really good drawn out scene about them creating baseball that I can pretty much guarantee was in someone's head for a while and just tossed into the film. This whole movie feels like that baseball sketch, some clever stuff but it doesn't work as a traditional "movie" since everything works so independently of itself.

Neither, more like Mesopotamians.
@rorydidelin7473 This movie always confused me being called Year One. They are cavemen who venture into a more civilized world and yet also come across Cane and Abel.

The sheep's butt being pulverized is not uncommon for the region 😆😆
my wife keeps mine in her prada purse.
for those who are wondering, this act represents what would be old Carthage / old Punic Kingdoms. The helmets and armor are completely off, they merely managed to get the white kinda decent, and they also used a bit more purple. The purple lining on robes (later adapted by the Romans as a sign of high status) was actually obtained from underwater snails - you'd have ancient freestyle divers who would dive into the coast and get snails to get the purple and reddish dye. The high priest scene etc, this depicts the worshipping of the Punic god Bael Hammon, sometimes depicted as a horned man. And yes, they did actually sacrifice virgins and threw them into the fire to attempt to make rain happen lol. Source - I'm a professor of history.
thanks man this is the best comment so far on this page. was sodom real? if so where was it located?
Sodom and Gomorra is like Atlantis we know it existed but we dont know where, I guess the so called wrath of good works in mysterious ways. The eye of Sahara is one point we are looking at right now, where atlantis could have been during the great flood, you can see from space how the wave moved over the whole region its kinda beautiful.
@@jingthethief There's no reference to it outside the Bible but info was limited then. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sodom_and_Gomorrah
@@jingthethief as the other person who replied to you, we know they existed but as far as location we're not entirely sure. And, although this movie is titled Year One, it's got many concepts that would've realistically taken place several centuries prior to year one. One more thing --> the aesthetics of the helmets, for the soldiers, it's wrong. Because they have openings above the brown. Most movies get this so wrong. Real ancient, and medieval helmets, they cover right at or below the brown. As in, you can't see the eyebrows.
And so yeah, we don't know where those cities would've taken place. Some experts point out archeological sites near the Red Sea, others closer to Mesopotamia, but we don't know for sure.
As far as Atlantis, and depending on the expert you ask, you'll get either it's not yet discovered or it's only a myth, but the best historical records would be that it was closer to Iberia. We know Plato and other Egyptian high priests mentioned the ancient city, and no, we don't think that they had flying cars 10,000 BC of anything of that nature like we see in movies, but likely it was advanced for the time because the region near Iberia is filthy rich in minerals. They likely had mastered metalworks prior to other civilizations. That's just my guess. Some people are working on archeological sites in Morocco, thinking the city could've been there as well.
They’re sacrificing to Baal btw
Human blood sacrifice, gets them up off their butts and on their feet. A common enough occurrence down through history. For those that don't comprehend, cause and effect. Of course, y' might have to go through a lot of people before your get clement weather.
Poor vigine got screwed. Doing it with out doing it
