    We just traded an Envision for a TourX at a dealerahip over one hour away. The fuel economy at 60 mph was over 40 mpg which is super for 2.0T and torque vectoring AWD.

    That is one NICE Buick!! Very impressive! For those out there bemoaning the "black plastic side cladding" the entire point of that "cladding" is to be very durable and easily replaceable if damaged. That is not the same kind of cheap flimsy plastic side moldings GM was so notorious for during the 1990's.
    An American made engine, Japanese made transmission all bolted together in Germany?? That...is awesome!!

      The wheel arch cladding can be removed too.

    looks great, I wish they came without the black plastic cladding!

      fndubs I’m hoping like a GS variant will come out without the cladding or maybe the Avenir variant

    I ordered a loaded one in Ebony Twilight Metallic in Essence trim.
    I drove the Opel version on vacation while visiting relatives in Germany and Austria for almost 4000 miles.
    Loved it and it ISN'T a SUV!

      The ride quality is bumps is better than my Envision SUV, it the Envision rides quieter with less tire noise.

    Never understood why Buick cars have LED front turn signals but incandescent turn signals in the back, just ruins the luxury look of it. Or at least throw in an LED lightbulb for a more modern look 😪

    it does share the E2XX platform but note, the LaCrosse and Impala have extended version of that platform, while the Malibu and Regal have the shorter version. Also the Regal gets AWD halidex while Malibu only gets FWD. They both share a lot of plastic on the inside, however. What happened to GM marketplace, the new feature on 2018 GM products?

    • @normt5463

      GM uses Active Twin Clutch AWD made by GKN.

    Major wagon fan here !
    So glad to see another wagon offered up ; German to boot !
    We drive & love our Mercedes Benz e320 wagon (w210).
    It has 7 seats - 2 are rear facing jump seats- and yet this Opel Insignia (oops, Buick TourX) is a touch larger in all dimensions...
    I like the design ! I'll consider one if my Benz develops major issues, which they seldom do.
    Ours is fully paid for & gets 23 city & 28 highway.
    Bought this Benz in Immaculate condition from original owner for >$5000.
    Yes I know this is said to be "cheap" starting at $29,000.
    But to cash pre-owned car buyers, 30 grand can never seem cheap or affordable.
    I'll let some who are addicted to always having a car payment buy this great wagon now, and plan to buy it from them in about 7 years / 100k miles for 30-35% of its "cheap price" of 30 grand.
    Deal ?

    also has a steel skid pad to protect the oil pan and transmission which most suvs/cross overs use plastic skid pad ! .

    Cameron, I'm a new subscriber and that was a very good introduction to the new Buick. I am curious as to whether you always list the build location of the vehicle as I find it an important factor in the car purchase decision which is too often overlooked by reviewers. BTW I have a modest Twitter base @SaveTheWagon devoted to the promotion/preservation of station wagons , safe/sober driving and a prosperous future for the people who build vehicles/components in the former Auto Pact nations. :)

    It competes with the Volvo V90, Mercedes E400, and Jaguar sportbrake. The 3 series and allroad are smaller cars this is a midsized wagon.

    • @normt5463
      @normt5463 Před 5 lety +1

      The rear seat split depends on the trim level.

    Love everything about this car EXCEPT the fuel mileage. 29 highway? that's just not cutting it. my 2014 Avalon base model with a v6 gets 32+ highway. Maybe it's the fact that they put a i4 in a car that weighs 3,700 lbs where my Avalon weighs roughly 200 lbs lighter. Having an hour long commute where most of it is highway, I was thinking of downsizing, but I'd be losing out on fuel economy. they need to improve that.

    • @normt5463
      @normt5463 Před 6 lety +5

      Rayackvor We have a similar setup as thr TourX in our Buick Envision Prem ll. We can see 32 mpg or 30 loaded at 65 mph with a EPA rated 26 mpg. So this with slightly more weight but better aero dynamics should see middle 30's mpg highway. The Lexus NX200 or RX350 can match that. So it is actually very good for AWD, which your Avalon does not offer, and non-hybrid turbo-4.

    • @davids1816
      @davids1816 Před 6 lety +4

      The Avalon is also FWD only. That makes a difference of about 2mpg. So they are not that far apart if you consider that. If it snows where you live it's a good tradeoff.

    • @Buc_Stops_Here
      @Buc_Stops_Here Před 6 lety +1

      Exactly David and Norm T. You only get AWD with this, the Avalon is only FWD - big huge difference - especially in the snow.

  • @cedricm5153

    I would really like to have this car, but it's gas mileage is trash. Such a nice car with unreasonable draw backs.

    • @normt5463
      @normt5463 Před 6 lety +2

      Cedric M our Buick Envision with 2.0T and AWD sees 32 mpg on the highway or 30 loaded, that is +6 above EPA rating of 26 mpg hwy. With a light foot and better aero this should see middle 30's on thr highway. No hybrid cuv can match thr highway rating
