    The TourX is an amazing family vehicle. Many people didn’t know they wanted one until after GM stopped making them. That’s why they should have marketed the thing.

    • @Eeaotc02
      @Eeaotc02 Před 6 lety +8

      Victor Ibarbo Yeah because wagons got a bad rep and nobody wanted to be dead set in a wagon. Same way with minivans. Now car enthusiasts or some people want something different than your neighbor's SUV/crossover.

    • @ramenraccoon159
      @ramenraccoon159 Před 6 lety +5

      Double JJ I really don’t get that. I think wagons are more aesthetically pleasing than SUVs and crossovers and they’re also more of a enthusiast car. SUVs and crossovers are for moms who want to bring their children to their football matches and for people who can’t drive.

    GM does this weird thing where they make great cars, but then never market it and then wonder why it fails. I think if they actually had the confidence to carry this car out, then it would've been really something special. The worst part is, this exact vehicle in the UK is rated to tow 3400 lbs. They cripple the limit stateside so that customers who want to tow are stuck buying more expensive SUVs and crossovers. If they tried doing that in Europe, customers would just buy a wagon from another manufacturer.
      Need evidence that automakers do this in the US? Go check the tow ratings for the Ford Crown Victoria from the early 90s to the mid-2000s. The car itself went through very few changes, yet the tow rating drops right around the same time the Ford Explorer came out.

      Deshawn Saunders automakers have tried to sell wagons in recent times but they were all flops. The crossover is what everyone wants now and it's demand is only increasing. Lol minivans are going out as we speak. I love wagons. Unfortunately mass market north American tastes don't

    Love my VW '15 Golf Sportwagen tsi se.
    37k miles and been the best car I have owned. Have gotten 40mpg on road trip. Love the utility, performance and economy. 170 hp, 199 torque and no need to tune.
    A guy at work had a brand new Chevy Malibu and the engine broke after six months. My wife's Chevy Orlando is getting rebuild under recall for excessive oil consumption..lol
    GM..lol
    He then got a Chevy truck..lol
    My Sportwagen was 27k through Costco in April 2015.
    This Buick is 43k..lol

    I'm really happy to see this new wagon. Wagons make a lot more sense for people and cargo hauling than a CUV. This particular wagon looks REALLY good. My only gripe is that they'll only give the American market a Subaru Outback wannabe version, with AWD and black exterior cladding. In Europe they sell this as a straight up FWD wagon. I hope they decide to bring that version to the American market. I'd be VERY interested in buying one if they do.

    I get the impression with this last Opel from Germany that GM is experimenting again to see what sells - a hatchback sedan and a wagon. They experimented a few years back with the small SUV, the Encore, and it was so successful they made a Chevy version called the Trax. If this succeeds we will be seeing the same in a Chevy in a few years. If it fails, then back to sedans and SUVs only. 0-60 mph tested is 6.9 seconds, so it is pretty fast.

    It's a good thing they offer a base model without leather. Not everyone wants leather and it can cost down quite a bit. Volvo would have a bigger advantage with their wagon line if they offered non leather trim packages.
    I like most wagons in general, we could definitely use more of them.

    Great review. I think the wagon looks great. The side view of the grey wagon shows great lines. My first impression of the white wagon was that the cladding was ugly. You said it was good looking so maybe it is a bad camera angle. Anyway, the grey being less of a contrast looks better with the cladding. If I could afford one I would test drive.

    I wish they kept the three prong outlet from the previous generation and gave it a bump in engine considering the more mass of the vehicle and being able to carry more. It’s about time Buck started further differentiating itself from Chevy, however, I’m really Buick has a wagon again and the Subaru has a competition, somewhat.

    I'm glad they kept it lower. Its a good balance between cross-country models (crossovers with a short roof) and a standard wagon/sedan. I've taken a rwd sedan far enough off-road to know that you don't need a cross-country anything to go camping.
