Heated seats, heated wheel, massage, auto inflating bolsters for turns, paddle shifters, and a fold up third row with a genuine spare tire underneath. Real work horse of a car too, I've loaded it up with people, lumber, pets, and even a metal working lathe. If you can find one in good shape, I can recommend it. I only wish it had the infotainment system that the Tour X has. You can still find plenty of the Tour X online used with low miles....but yeah, no clue if you can find one new. It's the blessing/curse of the wagon. Great car, but since it's a wagon, nobody is really looking for them.

    I have owned my 18 TourX since Sep 19. Tons of comments on its beauty and style. Most ask if it's a MB. Mine is the Essence, only missing option is the massaging seats. I wish it had more storage for the little things. It is in the gorgeous metallic maroon with black interior. I like the flat floor that my GMC Terrain doesn't have. I have got 34 mpg on the hwy with required premium fuel. That's in CA, where our fuel mixtures tend to depress might frugality.

    Lets hope to God that this is the start of a "new" trend - station wagons. A thank you to Subaru for holding the fort down, and to the late great AMC for making the eagle AWD back in the 80's; these companies laid the groundwork for a new (hopefully) chapter in station wagon history.

    • @PaoloFrancesco99
      @PaoloFrancesco99 Před 5 lety +1

      I share your sentiment. They are so practical and drive well. I also like the all wheel drive in a wagon. I hate to disappoint you. I have a feeling there is no trend beyond the Outback other than a few German luxury models (expensive to buy and maintain). One reason I say this is that I hear VW will discontinue their Sportwagon and Alltrack in 2020. I hope I'm wrong. Nice as this TourX is, and moving in the right direction, I haven't seen one on the road yet and kind of doubt we'll see many. Meanwhile, new models of medium sized crossovers are coming and will probably sell (Honda Passport, Chevy Blazer, etc.).

    • @seththomas9105
      @seththomas9105 Před 5 lety +1

      @@PaoloFrancesco99 Well it would be nice if Buick(GM) actually advertised the fact that this station wagon actually existed. I was talking to some guys at work a few weeks ago and mentioned the TourX and none of them had even heard of it. One guy got on his phone and looked it up, he was amazed and thought it was real cool and he was going to try and find one on a car lot. More moves of brilliance from the world of GM, the legacy of Roger Smith continues....... If the TourX follows the historical tack of the last 30 years of GM "managment". Buick division will pour some money into the platform for 3-5 more years with VERY little fanfare or notice, the car will finally "find its groove" and start to get a following, GM will never push the car or really advertise it and then will just up and cancel the platform because of "low sales volumes". 10 years later the car will have a cult following and people will scratch their heads in wonder as to why GM didn't let try to sell this car to the public.

      @@benartee9493 yes, but that's because a larger percentage Europeans are a bit more... sensible... about wagons/estate cars. Here in the US, people want their wagons jacked up because they think it's safer for some ridiculous reason. I know moms who think the Ford Escape is safer than the Focus just because it's taller, which is a batshit insane thing to believe. Remember, though, this is the country that brings the world monster trucks & Pontiac Firebirds on 4x4 pickup chassis. Oh, and handegg. Can't forget handegg.

    They've done such a great job of the design. Maserati lite! - I don't think it looks great in white though and it'd be great if they could get rid of the cladding or at least an option to have it the same colour as the body like on the V90CC. It's such a shame as all the reviewers seem to love this car but I'd bet good money no one will buy one :(

    I sat in one of those at the car show and when you sit in it you feel claustrophobic the front is just so crunched, it just doesn't have the space that I love in my Outback you can really just kind of sprawl out in this, and that I felt scrunched I'm not a very big dude 6-foot 230 lb. the ground clearance just isn't there for me the step in height on my Outback is just absolutely perfect at 8 1/2 in when you getting this thing you feel like you're just sitting in a big sedan. Not to mention my Outback is 7 years old and I still get 22 to 23 Mile in the city and 28 to 31 Highway

  • @yippie6862
    @yippie6862 Před 6 lety +3

    Nice wagon. I'd consider one for myself but I have three issues with it. It should offer a spare tire. Secondly, it needs 1-2 inches more of ground clearance for the snow. Other than plastic cladding there isn't much to differentiate this from their normal wagon because the ground clearance is almost the same. Lastly, not being able to defeat the start/stop might be a deal breaker. I can't stand them. Although I haven't tried one in a GM/Opel car yet so who knows.

    • @ford2M
      @ford2M Před 6 lety

      Didn't he state you could drive in manual or hit the max. ac control to defeat the start/stop? Too late to go re-read.

    • @Steve-uw5bf
      @Steve-uw5bf Před 5 lety +1

      Reconsider it, you'd be crazy not to especially with current incentives. You can get a spare donut for about $75 and it and tire tools fit in the under-storage area. Snow clearance: I've driven it in 5-7" of fresh powder and it did great - I couldn't shake the AWD system. Start/Stop is done well in this ride, I thought it might bother me too but it rarely does, and is easy to defeat with autostick or just tap brake. Or if you hate it, just get a module to permanently defeat it.

Not that comparisons matter a great deal but I do watch more car reviews on youtube than is probably healthy.
