Homemade Calzones & who is the Crimpit Winner?!!

- Whilst away for a few really lovely days in the beautiful Welsh coast, I cooked in the fancy pants kitchen using the Crimpit for the last time - after many of you said 'try something hot!' so I did and it was worth it.
I also experimented using puff pastry which turned out very well too. I had to stint on the ingredients as we were not blessed with my usual supermarkets like Lidl and Aldi, and having just been shopping in a local co op, we were suffering from wallet withdrawal at the cost of the items in Co op!! Incredibly pricey.
The Crimpit winner is announced near the end of the vlog.
Hope you enjoy and thanks for watching....

What a lovely change of scenery for you. You must have cone back home feeling really relaxed. Lovely cottage and surroundings.
Typical mum..'I'll eat the burnt one'..bless luv..🎉x
Hi Kerry, the holiday cottage and surrounding area looked picture perfect. Hope you had a great time. It's really hard going back to the oven, after using an air fryer. Especially, one you haven't used before. Take care, lovely. x Congrats to Christine, also.
Congrats Christine may you have a lot of happy hours crimping. Your cottage looks lovely Kerry, it's nice to have a space to work on, when i bake i put a cloth on my dining room table and put some kitchen stuff on there so i have a bit more room, it's not so bad if I'm making a cake but if I'm making pastry items i don't have much room. I also put a towel on my hob, then a large chopping board, then i put the air fryer on there which gives me more space. I did think about getting a job cover like you got Kerry but i saw how easily it marked. Anyway your calzones looked very nice, a good idea for something different. Yes it's awkward getting used to a different oven.
Hi Kerry, lovely to see you again. Oh wow, what a stunning kitchen, how good that would be. I used my co-op when we first moved to this house and only in the past year changed to Aldi and wish we had done it sooner. I've purchased the ninja speedi 10in1 and can't wait to receive it and see what delights we can make in it. How beautiful are the views. Rosie looks lovely and chilled. Just shows the difference comparing conventional oven to air fryer. Awww Kerry you are just like any mum who would eat the burnt one (have to say it did look tasty). You could even brush with some garlic butter on top and sprinkle some more cheese on 😋. What a beautiful property, Very well done, Christine. See you again soon, Kerry & the very clever Rosie xxx 😍🐾
Wow that cottage looks lovely! Love you cover up the furniture for Rosie - a woman after my own heart 😊
They look amazing, I absolutely love anything with lemon. Congrats on your garden plot site 😊
Thank you Marilyn!! 🥰🥰🥰🥰
Great video Kerry, beautiful place you’re staying at. The pastry crimpet came out really well I think better than the wrap ones also would be nice just pastry cheese and beans, or maybe steak in gravy. All looks good.
Congratulations Christine 🥰
The holiday cottage looks amazing 🥰
Congratulations to Christine . Its really noticeable just how much time ovens take to heat up now most of us are using air fryers .
We alway take lots of Throws to put over sofas when on holiday because even though we take the dogs baskets we know when we've gone to bed they alway sneak onto the sofa because at home our Labradors lay on ours because it's there home as well as ours. Fingers crossed Kerry you'll have a kitchen as big as that and as always their still won't be enough kitchen cupboards .😊
Lovely
Like you I said to my son that if we do another self catering holiday then I would take the airfryer. I too had problems with a strange oven. Enjoy your holiday
Well done on the winner 🏆 🎉 xx
Well done on the winner, cottage looks lovely Kerry 😊
That looks a stunning place you look so in your element. I am making your coffee and walnut cake whilst watching you, it is looking yummy I hope it taste has good has it looks. Thank you for sharing and well done the winner take care x
I’m in America, but got my son in England to order me a Crimpit. Can’t wait for it to arrive so I can copy you. Looks amazing 😊
I'm going to try these. I don't have the gizmo(Crimpit) but that is ok.
I have only just this afternoon found your page. Will be following you now. My crimpit arrived this morning. Just going to the shops to get a few bits to try it. When we rent anywhere to stay we always take our extra large throws as we have a dog. It shows respect for other people's property. X
Hi Diana👋😃💕 thank you for watching! Yea we always take old throws, its nice to treat a holiday rental as a home from home
It’s lovely
Hi Kerry, congratulations Christine, well done 👏 Love the cottage and I'm in love with Rosie, she is beautiful 💖 I was away last week looking after my four grandchildren 11-15 and puppy sitting, a boxer💓 and I know exactly what you mean when it comes to ovens🤦yep, no air fryer😕 I was like a zombie🤷not a clue. Everything took so much longer and definitely not as nice😏 although the kids ate well😂 You won't know yourself when you get back🙄 The calzone's looked great and am sure the boys loved them, lads are always hungry, added bonus having a wonderful chef for a mum👩🍳 Take care and see you on the next one. Byee 👋Jen 💕😘xx
Lovey to see you again. I hope you all had a wonderful holiday. My wife is from Wonderful Wales.
Love from wet Bournemouth
Aww thank you 😀👍 it's a really beautiful country💕💕
Congratulations to Christine, the cottage looks lovely. I’m going to have a go at them myself xx
Thank you Amanda💕💕
Congrats Christine x ❤
Oh wow the calzones looked delicious. I'll definitely be giving those a try using gluten free wraps. You get very little gluten free 'snacky' food so these will be lovely. Thanks for making them. Your cottage looks great. Very peaceful. Hope you had a great time. What a lot of work for you doing the giveaway. Well done to the winner x
Oh Kerry how you missed your air fryer. Interesting gadget. Well done to the winner hope you make lots of tasty fillings.
Good on you Cariad your errors makes us better cooks. 😳 I'm tempted to try them in the Ninja.
What a lovely place to stay .The calzone’s looked great , what did the pastry ones taste like ? Congratulations Christine 🎉
Lovely Kerry!! Looks just like our cottage upstairs. The beams are called Purlins..very old method of building a roof. Dates back centuries!! Glad you have such a lovely place fir a well deserved holiday!! Much love from us to you. Mel n Suz xxXxx
Always love architecture with a bit of history, they certainly knew how to build houses back in the day. My very first job was as a trainee architectural technician (18yrs old) 2 years later pesky housing market collapsed so everyone was made redundant just before xmas. No more drawing houses but hey ho. Have always loved seeing how buildings were constructed ever since. The A frame in the old barn where we were was eeeeenormous.
@@budgetcookinguk You continue to amaze us with yr life experiences!! You have had lots of jobs!! U iz a polymath!!! Xxx
Wow amazing kitchen
Oh it was a lovely kitchen Jennifer, makes mine feel poky lol
We made these in a camp site kitchen in Australia. Just using a frying pan, 2 wraps containing all the pizza ingredients we had, onion, tom puree, cheese, pepperoni, or maybe it was ham, olives. using a fork to seal the edges. They were great. But you are so right....the air fryer wou.d have made a wonderful job in half the time xx
That does sound such fun though around a camp fire😀👍💕💕
Haha I did think north wales first, then I wondered if it was. Northumberland, so pleased at least I managed to get it. Hehe. It definitely looked a lovely holiday for you. Pleased you enjoyed the break. Your crumpets look nice. I can see you will be keeping it haha. In the end. You never think you will take to the air fryer like I think so many of us have. So quick and things taste so nice cooked in them.
It will def come with us next time lol Karen, ovens are so inefficient and cumbersome plus food def tastes better after being AF'd😀👍💕
Well done Christine
Well done chris
What no pastry brush if you had asked Rosie nicely she may have let you use her tail 😉 😀 😊 congratulations to Christine on winning I would have eaten the burnt bit I'm quite used to it with THE BOSS cooking 😊😊😊enjoy the rest of your holiday as always absolutely brilliant and looking forward to the next one 👍 😊😊😊
Yay Jim and Maureen!! I was going to email you to check you two were ok, or send out a search party. Was banging nails in your summer pad roof today (more of that on fridays vlog over on Plot25+1) and thought I haven't heard from you n the BOSS for what feels like ages lol. Pesky holidays took me off the ball. I'll save Rosie's tail for emergencies 😂
Let hate having to get used to different ovens. great ideas for the fillings
Thinking it would make great Cornish pasties.
Omg that kitchen is amazing ,I want it , this be fab for vlogs kerry
So do I Mo, oh for a lovely kitchen like that lol😄
@@budgetcookinguk yeah , even the colour fab ,
Hi. With the pastry, they recommend putting cling film in the Crimpit before the pastry. This makes it easier to remove from it. 😀😀
That's a top tip right there thank you Charlie😀👍👍I'm glad I gave it another go
Definitely North Wales where I live, enjoy x
It's a beautiful part of the world🥰🥰🥰
Loved this video Kerry ..like everyone you do really....what a absolutely stunning cottage..and kitchens fantastic Kerry..will definitely trying the pastry ones...they look real delicious..well Rosey is absolutely beautiful..is she a red Labrador??only asking because we have a fox red lab ...Elsie...such a fantastic breed..I bet the boys were ready for there lunch ..and enjoyed very much....ange xx

It was really lovely Jennifer😍
@@budgetcookinguk I tried to get accommodations near Swansea to see Chris walks the uk on his finish line after walking the entire coast line you might need to look him and his family up . An amazing achievement

Thank you Fran💕💕we wish we had brought it with us, will def bring it next time 😀👍💕
@@budgetcookinguk you do that cos it will save you time
Rosie is loving sitting under the stable door , it will be nice and cool for her ,
Rosie loved the walled garden, she was waiting for me to hurry up and finish😄so I could take her there
@@budgetcookinguk aww going for a walk there be nice and peaceful for her l no cars or noise , Toto prefers the farmers feild near us , hubby don’t take him in the feild , but right next to fence is a little footpath , he likes the quiet walks now he’s getting older
Always found the Co-Op expensive, and to think they first set up to help the people. The amount of shops they had in the 50's 60's with good investment the could have been the largest shop-
Could you let me know where to book this cottage please. Thanx

Bacon cheese and mushroom for me
Hello, love the video. Where can I buy one, my other half would love these. I've searched Amazon but can't find one. xx
This is where I got it from albeit it was £9.99 at the time! crimpit.com/en-gb/product/crimpit-wrap/
What size is your tortilla wraps you use please.
hi just wondering where i could buy that crimpet thing you have please
Here is a link to the crimpit website 👍crimpit.com/en-gb/product/crimpit-wrap/
very little filling, maybe beans sausages and mash with seasoning, they would not fill me, you will all be losing weight😄😄
It was Jacqueline but we were on holiday in the middle of nowhere and nearest supermarket was a very expensive co op! So was being deliberately stingy with ingredients otherwise would have needed a massive bank loan to do a full shop locally😄
Where is the place you visit, do you have the details?
Just ignore the black bits…wish I had a £1 for every time I’ve said that 😂
cALZONE IS PRONOUNCED CALZONIE
Calzone is pronounced calzonie!!!
It would have been a good video but your voice sounds like your in a bathroom.
It was an old coach house holiday cottage, could not help the acoustics. Hope you have a lovely Christmas
