Mack or Matt failed to mention seal leaks. The trans shaft to drive shaft seal upper and lower main seal and the tub seals. You will find rust stain or oily scrum on the trans shaft and clutch assembly that also cause spin slippage for one check. Remove the outer cabinet shell, fill the tub to the highest setting, then run the wash cycle for the 2nd check. You will find intermittent drips or even more than dribbles under the trans gear box. Rust pitting where the shaft and seal occurs after 12-15 years and hardening of the seals are also the causes. Unlucky, my Kenmore 80 factory seals gave up after 24 years. Make sure you emery cloth those shaft areas before reinstalling. Putting a claim on the leaks by home own prospects is the last option to use. Good luck removing the basket nut without the tool and the basket from the drive block.

Thank you. Video was very helpful. I was thinking I was going to buy a new washer and spend big bucks on it. Pump was only $20.00 on E bay, and very easy to replace.

Hey I know it's 4 years later but was it easy to change the water pump? I'm a single mom and I don't have anyone to help me. I just bought the hose for $100 on ebay and my washer was 20 years old but hardly used. I had it in storage.

My problem is when it fills, if the tub isn't pushed all the way towards the back it will not all go into the tub and will spill out behind it and inside the washer. I push it back to begin filling but I'm not always around when the rinse cycle begins.

My washer leaks a lot only when is filling ( not when is washing). Thanks to your video recommending to look under, it help me find out that Is coming from the top. I couldn't see exactly but it looks like is from where the water comes out into the tub because is running down right from the top middle. Now I have to figure out how to get to that part ( I'm a women) lol. If you can give some advice I'll appreciate it.

Our washer is leaking in the rinse/spin cycle. My husband replaced the pump, but we still have a leak. He did check the hoses, but couldn't find a leak. Any other suggestions? We have a Kenmore Series 90 washer.
