    My 28 year old GE Washer, which has never had any maintenance other than the main timer switch and occasional cleaning, started leaking from the bottom yesterday. I thought well, it's probably the tub seal or something serious. Even started looking online at prices of new washer and dryer sets. Ran across your video, popped the front off of the washer in about 4 seconds. I found where the bleach dispenser hose had merely come loose at the bottom air pressure canister or dome as they call it. (surprised they don't clamp these!) That's all it was! the bottom of the tub and all components looked almost new! the drive belt even looked to be in great shape! Thanks for posting this very helpful video. BTW, I don't know about the recent model GE washers, but they made a quality machine back in 1996! Thanks again!

    Thanks so much. Going to take mine apart tomorrow and check it out. You are a BIG HELP. A different CZcams channel said if you had a leak - it could be a sign of a serious problem and best left to the professionals. Then he proceeded to tell you how to clean up the water on the floor. I’m sticking with you. All of these things you showed us don’t seem so serious. Heck, I’m a 67 yo woman and I’ll update you all when I fix my own washer tomorrow!!

    It is a good 5 days since I reported my washing machine leaking. I have run several loads since then and not a drop of water has leaked. Time will tell for me, I guess. Other videos only showed the water pump was the problem. Your video showed other places could cause water leaking. Yours is the best video I have seen. Great job sir.

    Question - My 30+ yr old Kitchen Aid washing machine is leaking somewhere underneath. But, it does not leak every time. I think (though I'm not positive), that it leaks when I run a large load. I had a leak today, cleaned the floor, and then ran a medium load later in the day, and it did NOT leak?? Seems weird that it floods the floor sometimes, and other times it doesn't. I have checked the drain tube, and it's not that. The flooding comes out from underneath the machine.

      When I find the small leak, it is directly in the center under the washer, not the front. Easter Sunday there was much water on the floor after washing items the kitties sleep on. Now, I have ran several loads of items the kitties do not sleep on, no leaks. I didn't have any water leaking until I started washing covers, blankets that the kitties sleep on. The dryer has a bunch of cat fur in the lint filter. Could cat fur possibly be blocking drainage from the washer and causing a slow drainage of water and causing the water leaks? Thank you, Mr. Jackson for your help.

    So the SPECIFIC problem you're talking about is if the machine OVERFLOWS on filling? Which would be completely different from leaking onto floor on DRAINING, right?

    • @HaroldJackson
      @HaroldJackson  Před 3 lety +1

      If the hose is leaking it will just keep trying to fill. So if the hose has a hole in it it will leak on the floor.

    • @dannichols6261
      @dannichols6261 Před 3 lety +1

      @@HaroldJackson Hi Harold! I'm not sure if we're talking about the same thing. Your problem was overflowing on FILLING, right? But my problem is that the machine leaks when it starts to EMPTY, and only then. So I'm thinking those would be two very different hoses, right? Or even the drain pump shaft seals.(Oh, sometimes, rarely, it may leak INTO the tub, I think, that is, put a little water into the tub when not in use, so I turn the water off to the machine in between use, but I don't think this has anything to do with leaking onto floor when draining.)

    • @HaroldJackson
      @HaroldJackson  Před 3 lety +2

      It depends on where it's leaking from. Some machines leak when they spin if the machine is out of balance. I would check the drain hose. And clean the drain pipe the hose is connected to. What kind of machine is it?

    • @dannichols6261
      @dannichols6261 Před 3 lety +1

      @@HaroldJackson Very good responses! Thank you! I hadn't really thought about leaking from spinning at all.
