Barcelona was more than the MSN. It is also why after winning the CL in the 2014/15 season, Barca was kicked out the following season in the quarter-finals in the 2015/16 season by Atletico Madrid and in Enrique's final season by Juventus. Luis Enrique's barcelona was dependent so much on the MSN trio to the point where Barca's midfield became non-existent. It is why players like Iniesta and Busquets suffered in terms of their productivity in Enrique's final season because Enrique's play changed to become more of direct long balls from defense to the MSN trio by-passing the midfield. The midfield was now being used as a workhorse of chasing the ball and recovering possession rather than the hub from which play was dictated like in the Guardiola's era.

You missed how in build play even though Messi started on the wing, he still found space in his usual middle of the pitch region, Pique/Alves would play the ball into Messi who would be on the wing and Rakitic would then make runs to the wide right dragging a player with him allowing Leo to cut in with just his usual marker.
Lucho's main weakness was his stubbornness, he dropped the style which brought him success at Barca and instead adapted to a completely front 3 reliant counter attacking system, it was obviously bound to fail. Even in 14/15 and mid of 15/16 which was his best time at Barca some of the overall standout players were Iniesta, Pique, Busi.

He was direct, he knew the main strength of this team , and he knew how to make Barca 'defend'. In a game against PSG , Barca put 7 PSG plsyers in Offside trap, that's sheer practice. I think it's his directness which was his strength, additionally man management of controlling MSN and Iniesta and everyone in dressing room. I find a match between him and Hansi Flick. I really love Lucho but everytime looking at the line up of his Barca team I end up thinking he was not that great of a coach, or that he could not manage such a star-filled team. Pep for example had a weaker team on paper but his Barca performed far better and more effective

Enrique got too much undeserved criticism. He definitely is one of the better managers, and his results speak for themselves. But I think some of the criticisms do hold true. In the last season, our defense was pretty horrible under him, and we seemed rather confused against Roma for example. Yet, I wonder how much of that was due to an aging team?

Luis enrique's barca were mad men when pressing, they didn't care about fouls, they just wanted the ball amd killed the opposition for it.. That's precisely the reason why they were good, aggression and mentality.... And..... Of course the 3 latin americans
