- In this video, Sailing to St Martin and Blasted by a Jet Airplane, we leave Antigua for Dutch Sint Maarten where we repair our dinghy then cruise over to French St Martin. We head to the airport to stand at the famous Maho Beach to be blasted by a Jet Aircraft on take-off then share Cruising tips and details about our stay here on the dual country island.

In August of 2017 we sold everything and moved aboard Balachandra, a 1986 C&C44 sailboat, then sailed it over 300 nautical miles to Halifax Nova Scotia to spend a cold Canadian winter in the frozen waters of the North Atlantic. Sailing Balachandra is our CZcams sailing vlog inspired by other great channels such as Delos and La Vagabonde, which documents the sailing adventures of myself and my partner Nawal as we navigate the globe. We also dive into lots of DIY boat projects both above and below decks, and share with you all of the pros and cons of living aboard full time. Sailing Balachandra is published weekly so please subscribe so you don't miss out on future videos!

Wow! Supermarket, laundromat and laundry info. French territory just got moved even further up my list of places to cruise. When I was in London I knew where all the museums were, but where to do my laundry was one of my most important google map searches.
Nooks and crannies, hilarious
Great Video, miss you guys. Glad that you are getting to see a lot of the islands.
Hi Brian! Yes, same here. We missed Guadeloupe and Martinique but they literally closed a week or two after they openned. It was not meant to be :)
lol this this was a fun video! thank you for the info when i start my sail life i am going to vist ST Martin.
Enjoyed the video. I appreciate the info on things like laundry services. Have you guys done shopping for fresh foods at local markets instead of the grocery stores?
Yes, you can do that throughout the Windwards. Not so much here in St. Martin- small island and not a lot of farming.
Greetings from cold Toronto 🇨🇦🖖😎🌴🏖️
I like it.Regards
You guys are amazing
Glad to see that you are enjoying SXM. I am also a Canadian who lives in Maho Village St. Maarten (Dutch side), Currently back in Canada due to Covid restrictions but I will be back later this year. Enjoy and welcome to the Friendly Island 😎
You should go sky diving in St Maartin...awesome!
Why “no fishing”. Great content!!! thanks
Haha Nawal knows i will ask her to take the wheel and reduce sail so we can slow down enough to land the fish and it's harder when you're tired from taking 4 hr watches. That said the Tuna was DELICIOUS :)
Ya .. someone's complaining about catching a bluefin?? What could be better than fresh tuna?? And you won't find fresher caught!!
It was the easiest you’ve done even if it’s your first
Indeed- i've spent days inf front of a laptop (Dan) getting all the preliminaries done for some places. Dutch Sint Maarten was one of the worst with loads of paperwork. The easiest was USVI. All done over a phone app in about 5 min
@@SailingBalachandra good to hear some countries aren’t pushing the Covid lie. Here in Canada hospitals are all empty and turning away people who need medical care. They are shutting down businesses for a year yet nobody is dying from Covid. People know more people who died from suicide but nobody actually knows anyone who died from Covid
