Im broke, have fun with the new cpus, ill enjoy my room temperature room.
5800x and the last iteration of AM4 are an extremely good option to many buyers and gamers. I am sticking with my 5800x and giving AM5 a chance to mature.
It's insane to me how much differenceit makes to just have more cache on your CPU.
According to MLID, the thing many people didn't pick up on, is that the price is listed as "RCP", not "MSRP". The price you see listed here, is how much stores like Microcenter have to pay in order to get the chips.
I finally upgraded from my R7 1700 to a 5800X3D. I was able to find a 6700 XT at MSRP and decided to go with that. Coming from a Vega 64, it's way faster. I'm happy for now. I'm waiting to see if AMD's Radeon 7k will perform and if AMD is going to stick it to nVidia for releasing a $900 4070.
Nice to see the CPU wars "heating up" between the two.
Not sick of this at all. Keep us informed!
Nice to see the 3D cache AM4 will still be very relevant into this next generation. Can't wait for AMD to do it again. Waiting on upgrading for it :D
I love the talking head videos, they're my favourite format of this channel for sure. Your insight in these topics is invaluable to me, I'm looking to upgrade my system and you keep my marketing-based hype in check, so thank you!
The 5800X3D is probably the best option for gaming right now. It isn't doesn't have an upgrade path, but we're pretty much used to that by now, what with Intel changing socket like every other generation anyway.
Awesome work jay driving on my way home from work and immediately clicked on it ,love how thorough u are
About a year ago, I finally upgraded my 1800X system to a 3800X. At some point I'll likely bump it up to either a 5800X3D or a 5900X, and continue using this same system for the foreseeable future. I plan to wait until 2nd or 3rd generation of the new AM5 Ryzens before I make the transition.
I totally get that the "up to" for boost clocks is kind of worthless when looking for numbers for sustained loads, but for lots of work, it can come in bursts. I am a CAD user and a lot of my work comes in the form of relative small but complex processes so that boost number is handy for a reference for some use cases. OSs in general work a lot in the same way.
It makes me happy that intel has some serious competition, I love seeing what they can produce on both sides and release some amazing products.
I actually do thoroughly appreciate and enjoy the talking head videos! Nice balance of news, facts, and your expert opinion.

I'm happy you explain all the tech knowledge because I the average consumer don't know what most of it means until you explain it
I'm on AM4 since the 3800x. Sold it for ~160$, then got a 5700x recently for 200USD. 40$ for such a nice upgrade. I will wait for further price drops on the 5800x3d and probably upgrade again to this one for my last AM4 CPU. This gen has been spectacular for me in terms of recycling parts and cheap upgrades.
Got a 5950x with the end of AM4 and right before AM5. I'm happy with it, and it will last for a few generations. Interesting to see all the new stuff coming out but availability and pricing is going to be a huge factor here
I love talking head videos. I’m currently listening while painting and don’t have to worry about missing something on the screen.
