- Saturday, Febuary 3rd 2024 I met my two friends Jason and Jonathan Zaharek in the Adirondack Mountains at the Elk Lake Trailhead at 5am. (by the way if you for some reason you are not following @JonathanZaharek you should be. He is hands down the best Adirondack Mountains CZcams blogger & Photographer there is. He also has the latest guide book out in the Adirondack high peaks.) From this point Jonathan and Jason loaded up my car and I would drive us to the AMR trailhead were we started at 6am. From here we ascended the Leach Trail to hit Noonmark Shoulder for Sunrise, then off to Dial Mountain summit (4003 feet tall). OMG the views were amazing! Then off to Nippletop Mountain standing at 4610 feet. We had a nice butt slide down dial and one of the best butt slides down Elk Pass Trail. From Summit to Nameless Ponds in 20 Minutes. We took a break at the Trail junction sign before heading up Colvin Mountain (4080 Feet). That trail was steep in the beginning! Then off to Blake (4000 Feet) We pretty much butt slid down all the steep stuff. Then up to Blake which looked like it would have been an amazing butt slide down had we come back that way like most normal people! Blake was steep and burmed out like a bobsled coarse! We took a nice break on Blake... because well Blake makes a great spot for a break. Now for the Pinnacle Traverse. Im unsure how far across the range this is. But I chose to take lead and break the first Mile the Deep & Hard Mile.. No one does this rout in the winter, especially with a bit of snow. This was pretty much a bushwhack and there was so many trees over trail, we spent hours hunched over walking under blowdown, steep rock climbs, just absolute madness and the snow was deep! When walking the flatter sections or down sections it was pretty easy going. Only sinking in about 1 foot even though snow was at least 4 feet deep. With the ups, it was bottomless snow and almost a standstill moving forward! Thanks to my Garmin Fenix 7x Pro Sapphire Solar watch navigation was possible because it was like the trail from hell. Is there a trail there? lol. Anyhow we had a long Day and got back to the car around 9 Pm. 24 Miles and 8300 Feet of climbing!

Incredible 😮 wow very good keep it up
Really nice video! Amazing scenery and snow shots and beautiful views!
Thanks so much. It really was a very special day.
This is so cool! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching!
It's great to see you vloging again in the high peaks
More to come! I’ve been feeling a little bit lately, like sharing some of my journeys. I just completed the Vermont five Winter ultra the other day but I didn’t log anything. When days that big I can’t lose any time trying to film anything. And it would’ve been rough to film anyway. A lot of it was at night or soaking wet. lol
Awesome video! Colvin range is next on my list for the summer, looks amazing
It really is!
What a magical winter day. Breaking out the Pinnacle Traverse trail 😱💪 Great collab too with JZ! Keep em coming!
More to come! I’ll probably end up helping Jonathan work on winter redline the rest of this winter season. I’m pretty much out there every weekend. Last weekend I did a Vermont five ultra, which was really special. It reignited that whole ultra spark within me but I just love big days.
Great vlog!
Thank you!! Appreciate you watching! One of the most beautiful winter days in the mountains
Did a backpacking loop this past summer of Dix down to Elk Lake, over to Colvin Range and then down to Indian Head, my first time in the Adirondacks. We bailed on doing an out and back to Nippletop. I've hiked a lot in the whites and have hiked the PCT. That was some of the toughest hiking I've ever done (the mandatory bear cans did not help!). Kudos to you guys for doing a winter traverse. The view looking back on the Great Range from the Pinnacle was probably my favorite view of the trip!
Love the video, man! I always enjoy when you and Johnathan hike together. It's fun watching it from both of your perspectives, personalities, and creative styles.
More to come!
Dude!!! Thank you, once again, for taking us along on an ABSOLUTELY INSANELY EPIC hike!! I know it's a pain in the a$$ to hike, record, and edit, but I really look forward to your adventures! Keep 'em coming! I'm going in for foot surgery #4 in two weeks (pretty f'n bummed about it), so I'm vicariously hiking through you. I'll check out Jonathan's channel and IG.
24 miles in those conditions. Damn...
Well, 12 of those miles were perfect.
Thanks Brian! 👊🏻👍🏻 Awesome my friends! Stay safe and take care out there 🙏🏻 God Bless
Appreciate you!
Incredible video. Thanks so much for sharing your epic adventure. Keep the videos coming. WOW
noice trek !
Love you Tony !!!!
A tee shirt?? Wow. What watch is that?
I spent a lot of time in the mountains, so I think I get used to the cold, but I also run very hot. And I try to avoid sweating at all costs so if that means I can get a T-shirt stay dry I’ll do that. And you are looking at the Garmin Fenix 7X Pro Sapphire Solar!
