    I feel like orc bowmasters are definitely better than boromir, and possibly also better than reprieve, especially since literally every deck runs card draw, and the card's floor if it hits the battlefield is two bodies and a ping at instant speed for two mana.

      Orc Bowmasters is going to go the way of Dreadhorde Arconist when it was first revealed people thought it was going to be amazing in Modern but it did very little in Modern. Where the card was broken and where orc bowmasters is going to be broken is in Legacy and that is because of one reason. Blue cantrips reign supreme in Legacy. Brainstorm and ponder are everywhere in legacy so Dreadhorde Arcanist got banned because of it and Orc Bowmasters will be amazing. Besides Izzet Murktide there just aren't enough card draw decks in the format for bowmasters to feed on. One other reason bowmasters won't break the format is because creature removal is so bountiful in Modern.

      While remand isn't good enough in blue anymore many white decks that splash blue for counters could cut the splash for consistency particularly if that splash is for the side board. Give my Boros deck one more turn to close out the game is often all I will ever need but the inconsistency of adding blue for counter magic out of the board has lost me games before too. I'm actually a bit surprised that Forge Anew was not mentioned here. It will probably only be a 2 or 3 of in Hammer Time but it does a lot that the deck likes.
    - Brings back an equipment from the graveyard
    - Allows a free equip per turn
    - You can equip at instant speed during your turn (ie combat)
    It adds some more resiliency and redundancy to the deck and gives the deck a lot of reach by being able to instant speed put hammer on an unblocked threat as you swing in.

    I play both magic and Yu-Gi-Oh, and I always love your videos like this, because In Yu-Gi-Oh, our format warping mega threats are cards like "The big guy, 3000 atk, 2500 defense, once per turn negate the activation of a card and if you do destroy it also twice per turn you can send one card from both players fields to the grave yard also if this card is in your grave you can banish one little guy from your grave in order to special summon it during either players turn and if you do flip one monster on the field face down into defense position, and if you do, your opponent has to give you a massage. You can only use each effect of "the big guy" once per turn.

    Hey I've seen this one before!
    Good stuff
    Edit: flowering of the white tree isn't going to break the format. It'll be a contender but it's going to be right next to other decks in the format.

    The combo with Rosie Cotton and Scurry Oak only works if you manag to put a wrench in it if you want to do anything else for the rest of the game like attacking with other creatures in the same turn you activated the combo.

      @counterpoint1494 Před rokem

      does anyone really care though? In CEDH you can just turn 3 win anyway so Commander power level is always just going to come down to the agreement within the play group.

    • @benvictim
      @benvictim Před rokem

      @@counterpoint1494 Yes. Even tho EDH is usually a causual format, this highly affects playing with randoms at conventions or LGS one off events. It won't affect constent pods yeah, but it does affect the power level of the format in general.
      Multiple times at conventions I have sat down with a group of people to play and we discussed mid to low power decks, only for a single person to whip out Sol ring, mana crypt, arcane signet, Old school fetch lands that lead to a turn 3-5 win.
      Even with the above example aside, this raises the bar. Stuff that might have been a "high power" before might now just become a "meduim power. I.E. if the power level measured from 1-100, and this set raises that to 125... decks that were a 75 (aka in the top 25% range) are now in the top 60% and are now more "mid". Which skews pre-game discussions as well.

  • @BearKat49
    @BearKat49 Před rokem

    Rosie Cotton and Scurry Oak are neat but if its a never ending combo it ends the game in a draw, not a win. Aswell, if you cast it at instant speed with collective company on their endstep, youll never get to untap and attack because the combo never ends, unless you have an instant speed removal to take out one of your own combo pieces. sporemound & life and limb are a similar effect that gives you infinite saprolings that are also lands, but the game cant progress without a krosan grip or some type of removal.
