In today’s video I will share with you my cost of living in Nuevo Vallarta Mexico in 2022 . I will invite you to my apartment, I will tell you how much my rent is, what it includes, how much I spent on groceries and where I shop for it . If you are planning on visiting or moving here keep on watching.
Let’s start with location. I live in Nuevo Vallarta very close to the beach.
My rent is 22000 Mex pesos a month or an equivalent to $1100 US a month. Gas, water wifi, electricity is not included, it’s about additional $1000 pesos or $50 US a month.

It’s a two BD apartment . The reason I rent a two BD apartment is I like to host my friends , I had two of my friends who moved to Mexico in September and staying with me , then later on in October my very good friend Laila moved to Mexico and stayed with me as well.
The apartment comes fully furnished , kitchen is equipped with everything that I need to prepare my meals . And it’s great that I don’t have to buy anything:))
My total monthly spending is about $2,000. My biggest expense is rent as I do a lot of outdoor, free activities. I love to eat out with my friends but not more than 1 or 2 times a week.

I will have my 4velderly cats with us. GINGER has been declawed since 2011. The others will get a weekly nail trim or more if it becomes necessary. Not a problem
Hi Larissa, I was in Nuevo Vallarta last week, I saw a lady who looked just like you on the beach, I was sure it was you 😄 It’s such a beautiful area, I truly enjoyed my vacation.
I absolutely love this apartment and if I decide to move to PV that is what I would be looking for.
I’m also planning to move permanently to Mexico; I’ve just finished staying in playa del Carmen but got board after 3 weeks; my husband and I -upon visiting Mexico for the first time 14 years ago-stayed in Puerto Vallarta; it’s a beautiful city. We where drawn to the Cancun site because of its large beautiful beaches; however, just found out that puerto Vallarta also has a beautiful large beach-forget the name. I’m so interested in buying a 2 bedroom by the beach with pool.
I’m currently in the process of selling my house here in Canada Victoria B.C. and then will visit P.V. to check thinks out.

Too expensive for me. Looking to come stray in Nov for 3-4 mths. I have been to Vallarta a few times and have stayed in Punta de Mita & Sayulita. Would like something. Would like to see something under 1000. Don't like high rises. Want to be be close to a quiet beach Concha Chinas, Camarones and shop for food hop locally. Show me some places like that please.

Definitely prefer the nicer of the two! It'd be great if you did a video on a few options for detached homes, say 3 bedrooms around $1,500 - $3,000 a month, I'm sure there's families who'd find it valuable.
We will be moving to Mexico this year, sometime between June-Sept. Cannot wait to explore/house hunt!

$3000 a month? For that price you could stay in the US fairly comfortably.
@@ariefraiser140 I live in Sydney. Average is approx that for an average home 30minutes from the city opposite direction of the coast....everything is relative my friend.

Where are you thinking of moving to? I am looking into it also, but you also have to take safety and price into account. I was wondering if you maybe know of a cheaper place to live along the coast of Jalisco than Puerto Vallarta.

Your place is very, very nice, but I don't care to spend a lot - rather travel with my extra money. When I stay in Mex. summers, I usually pay 600/mo. - about half price of high season. I would like a patio area for our two dogs. After I sell my home - going on the market now - I plan to move to Mex. permanently.

Nice place ..however, for those on a lower budget ....the lesser cost place is better..thanks for the nice video
If you wish to live in a bright modern rental apartment with amenities that is located in a walkable safe PV neighbourhood, and you enjoy eating out, entertainment etc. on a regular basis, potentially have a car, based on my recent experience in PV, Canadian expats should budget $40-50k CAD per annum, otherwise you will be sadly disappointed!

Larissa, great informative video. My wife and I visited PVR a few weeks ago in the Versailles neighborhood and had a great time. Would you recommend Nuevo Vallarta for a 3 month stay ? We would like to find a place to stay every winter

I am now looking into moving in that area...currently living in CDMX but I realized after visiting there-there is so much to do there as far as outdoor activities and like you said either free or almost free.

Yes, most rental places are pet friendly:) If you like outdoor activities, than yes 👍 PV has lots of hiking, swimming, paddle boarding, surfing and more to offer! Thank you for your feedback 😍

Thank you for sharing that information with us. I very much like your condo. Very comfortable. I am 5yrs older than you, but don't nearly as good or healthy. I prefer your condo over the other. Access is easier, though the $400 price is tempting. But still, I would prefer the more modern amenities. Do they have 1 bedroom for rent? I'm visiting, 1st time, April 5th. I would love to check out Nuevo Vallarta to live. Your videos inspire me.
Nice apartment how many beds ? Cheap by US standards but very pricey for Mexico. I see many videos where rent is $500;or less and includes WiFi maid etc. you look happy and that’s really all that matters

Did you notice the name change traveling in and out of Nuevo. The signs now read welcome to Nuveo Nayarit.
lovely spacious apartment but what i never see in these videos is the washer and dryer, running shower tap water, flushing toilets, or a live feed to internet speed, A/C, etc...without looking under the hood, these may as well be marketing ads

No, Nuevo Vallarta is less expensive than foe example Bucerias. If you choose to rent a very simple Mexican style place it would be much much cheaper:))

I been to puerto vallarta many times it's nice nice. But I will never pay 24.000 pesos for two bedroom apart. If that's the case I stay in utah..... I live in guadalajara for 4months at a CASA DE UESPEDES. Included room wifi tv. Two bed bathroom. Cleaning daily for monthly 3800 pesos not even 400bucks. If I wish for owners to make me breakfast I only pay like 3bucks. Or even lunch 4bucks... let's say 420bucks monthly. Just on rent.
Guadalajara is beautiful, but there is NO ocean, and I swim and surf every day, I pay more for what I like :))) we have choices 💥thanks for watching:))

Can you do hiking and outdoor activities in Nuevo Vallarta? or do you need to drive out of the city?
No there is no hiking in Nuevo, you have to drive out of the town. There are many different hikes in Sayulita, San Pancho Mezmaloya, and more . You can join hiking groups on Facebook and go from there. Very often people do carpooling.

Yes, to go grocery shopping you need a car or Uber, or bike . you can bike everywhere in Nuevo Nayarit, roads are good 👍
Hi Larissa, would you say you need a car in NV? I considered central PV but found it too busy with too much traffic. I also love La Comer and eat very healthy like you. Was the beach you were in in NV? It actually looks a little nicer than the beach downtown. Your apartment is the kind of place that i would like as well. I also have a small dog. Would you say that many apartments or condos are pet friendly? Thank you!

I just took a bike ride over there Monday from Bucerius. I don't own a car. Does the bus system connect to the #200 by chance. Love your place and the price but don't want have to use Uber, Indrive or taxis
Yes , you can take public bus from Bucerias to Nuevo Vallarta.

Hola Louise unfortunately I can’t help you with finding the rental, because I am not a realtor and I don’t have time to do it. Your arriving in a low season, so it wouldn’t be a big problem to find what you want. Just rent an Airbnb for a few days and when your here start looking for the area and the place. Look at Facebook market place, many apartments are available for rent especially in low season
