Beta Halo is apropos for this alternate reality version of Master Chief.
Favorite part about the show is Master Chiefs desire to go AWOL at any moment. At this rate if he got the wrong mre he would go AWOL to get a real meal
they should have just wrote it so he can kinda go where he pleases lol. They always just let him go anyway. Might as well be like hey It's spartan 117 I'm leaving and they just say okay cool.
It makes me laugh so much because Chief is actually a complete loose cannon in this show. It's like Captain America in Civil War but he's disobeying every single order lmao
Well Chief going AWOL is very true to lore
Tbh if my meal was said to be a vegan big mac and not a real big mac, I'd go AWOL
At this point Locke will show up and people will actually want him to win

I’d bet anything they’re gonna turn The Flood into generic Walking Dead zombies.
Oh god. I hope not. But thats a very valid concern.
The Covenant is characterized pretty well so the Flood will probably get a similar treatment.
they already have the covenant(elites and jackals only of course) as the walking dead zombies
I made a prediction in the comments of last week's video saying that. They'll be a threat for maybe an episode or two, but be relegated to a background threat afterwards. $10 says "blessed ones" will be immune to the flood outside of any blunt force trauma or gunshots
To be fair the flood would need a lot of cgi, hopefully the show gets more cash to actually do it
Got so confused when I heard 'Sol' system, how did humanity manage to have colonies on other planets but missed the Halo ring right next to Earth? Didn't know Alpha Halo was in the SOELL system 😂

I have this creeping feeling that they will mess up the Flood like the messed up the Demons in the original Doom movie

The poor gal was barely getting over learning how she was supposed to have been human, but was adopted by 343 at the last moment. She never recovered the overdose of infamy.
🤣😂🤣 thats too funny🤣
I'm hoping that the shaman character guiding kwan to this door and aiding her to open it is actually part of the gravemind trying to escape this facility and using her to do it. The horror elements definitely need to be explored more if season 3 is greenlit. The show needs to be darker and showcase that desperation humanity faces, trying to survive the covenant and the flood simultaneously.
The shaman is clearly warning her of the flood. I'm guessing the ring they're about to go to already has a gravemind loose and the shaman is actually the influence of a monitor who wants her to get over there and activate the ring.
That would actually be the first interesting twist in the show. But knowing how bad everything else has been I doubt they'd do anything that neat
Horror lol. I really hope they just don't greenlight the show for season 3 and save us all the horror of the shows continued existence.
No spoilers but its not quite revealed what the lady is.
I love how they handled the flood tease Halsey just thinking what’s she’s seeing is the history of the forerunners and their empire expanding when the stars glow red while kwan is seeing it as spreading and cuts to the cave drawing of the flood. The stars on the clock turning red basically showing the floods spread through the galaxy during the forerunner flood war. It truly make me geek out and made me want more. Also loved the forerunner aesthetic the city and light bridge was so cool

@@light0000 season 2 has been great imo with the exception of a few issues imo. They are making the Chief extremely rebellious in this show. Like literally throughout all of the books and games up to 4 the Master Chief has always followed orders and stuck to a mission. For Christ sake he wanted to continue operation Red Flag with just him and 4 other humans.
Tbf book Chief wasn't betrayed and left for dead a week before operation red flag.
Doesn't the red stars in the starmap possibly show forerunner colonies infected by the flood?
Bingoo yes
I can see them destroying the halo too in the explosion bc this is Halo: Combat Devolved
just watch them have High Charity and the pillard of autumn show up to the Halo in the last episode to see those two blow up in flames with the spartan 3s mission so we can say a final good bye to halo 1 and 2 at the same time

Probably already had to robe props on hand as well from another show.
They are trying to bring the esoteric aspects of Halo to the forefront but are blundering it badly
It's not mysticism. It's forerunner influence disguised as mysticism. Blessed ones and Kwan aren't magic. She's processing information being released into her mind via a geas as hallucinations that look and feel like mysticism. What's happening is just like chief in halo 4, she's following genetic instructions embedded into her by the forerunners. This concept is in the core canon too.

Also they’ll probably show like 10 minutes of a flood outbreak and then cut to Master Cheeks clubbing with the covenant or something. The flood is gonna require a lot of CGI budget 💀
They could have done it pretty easily with practical effects and clever use of camera work and lighting. Like the stupid infection forms could easily be a handful of latex puppets on strings and it wouldn't even be difficult to do. They already spam the fuck out of the "shaky cam" style. Making the flood episodes super dark with more of a horror element would be the way to go about it but... this show doesn't do anything intelligent. So far it has had like 5 cool moments for a total of maybe 5 minutes total of entertainment out of 16 episodes. Lol

She’s not crazy though. Destruction isn’t the only thing the Halo is used for. It’s also for research, building, and protecting populations on itself.
Well to be fair though, the Gravemind did promise immortality through communal flesh.
Some "better worlds" are just more gooey than others. Just ask Weyland-Yutani.
Makee thinking she could use Halo to build, rather than destroy isn't completely crazy. The Halo's weren't just built to destroy the flood's food. They were also built as arks to store life in order to repopulate the galaxy.
No they weren't. Their main function was to kill everyone. The biosphere and live was added later for research purposes. They were the ones reseeded not the things doing the reseeding.
Pretty sure the ark was on an installation outside of the reach of halo ring , to rebuild after it was used.
Isn't that what the ark is for and shield for
Each Halo ring has a library which has a store of genetic information from various planets. The purpose being to study in order to try and find a weapon against the flood. The ring's secondary purpose was to destroy all sentient life. Basic dna would survive the activation. As for the Ark. That was in order for some living forerunners to survive the purging as well as to help repopulate, The Ark was supposed to be outside the galaxy, beyond the range of the rings so the living could survive. The shield world you mention is Requiem and is the setting for Halo 4.
Jimmy Rings strikes again

When Kwan Ha solved the puzzle with her photographic memory, that was a final straw. I can't. I just can't do it anymore.

It’s wild to me that he finally put his armor on and then he still refuses to put the helmet on
We have to see his emotions don't you know and his wonderful acting.
Meanwhile in the parallel universe where Spartan IIs ended their conversion with a helmet allergy.
And where they also all died before Reach.
In the context of the show, they needed to know it was indeed the actual master chief in his armor to prove that ONI lied about reach and to give the Spartan IIIs hope

How about you don't watch it then😧😧
Soren and his wifes story = He-man and skeletor sideline
That whole flood tease plot scene, from opening the lab to seeing the stars change and the sudden realiation, probably the best thing from both series
One thing ill give them praise for is how they used the correct architecture for the forerunner structures. It felt juat right, like it was straight out of the games.
To be fair, the Show is mostly reverent of 343.
Sadly it's mostly Bungie's vision that's getting shafted here.
@@xunk16 DUDE CAN YA STOP THIS NONSENSE THAT BUNGIE AND 343 are different? Most of classic halo games employees joined 343. IF you hate directions of halo now, you hate the directions of original bungie. Most of ya are still stuck in teenager halo 4 player split screen time and refuse to grow up.
@@ipityplaystationpeasants2305 Cute. But irrelevant. I discovered Halo 4 in my 30s, thank you very much.
As for the direction, it's no secret that there are massive changes in artistic direction between "humans are forerunners" to "there is this ugly race that can program specific individuals bilions of years prior into the gene-pool". (Alternatively, the change from hard sci-fi to literal space-fantasy.) Or between "The master chief is something even a school bully can aspire to" to "Space Jesus". Even going from "AIs have a silhouette body that is the barely remembered sensation of their clone originals" to "AIs have programmable costumes and are purely software in flavour and function despite their origin".
Given the last one was kinda put in movement from the time of Halo Wars 1, but it doesn't change that it was 343 that brought it into the main line. What they also did was change the focus from a universe of "an ideal to attain" toward a universe where there is "endless gratuitous psychobabble subtext for those that prefer to judge people by the box they were forced in, instead of letting the scenarios speaking of themselves".
So I wouldn't care if they would have the exact same teams (that gameplay element was preserved, at least), point is that there was the end of an era, and someone forgot that canon existed between the two parts of the franchise.
I like both parts of the franchise for very different reasons (343 did give a lot more attention to the aliens than the UNSC part of lore), but that doesn't take away from the fact that the tone and story of the show is heavily taking from that second artistic direction and not the first.
Same thing happened with Farscape from the show to the comics; having only a part of the original writers still means that there is a part missing. And in some instances, even one dude can make all the difference.
Now I even like the show for its attempt at making the broader universe seen and respecting the weird architecture of the games. I even pre-ordered the DVD set for season 2. But that doesn't prevent me to wish we had a truthful adaptation (such are turning out to be very rare in this day and age).
I'll admit to have had a split-screen teenage though.
And yeah it was a blast.
Shame these guys aren't alive anymore.
I really hope the Flood show up and somehow already have Pure Forms, even though they're still in the Feral Stage, and armorless Jimmy Rings fist fights a Tank Form and punching Infection Forms and is covered in Flood gunk and stuff yet never gets infected at all.
Chief putting on his armor was the best thing ever though. Jimmy is finally wearing the one thing he should be wearing almost 24/7
Maybe the actor will begin to petition for the helmet when he'll be ending each day with an aftertaste of alien gunk.
usually there's always a sense of mystery around halsey's spartan program being convieniently timed to counter the covenant instead of the insurrection, but this show gave a pretty good reason as to why halsey stole the original 75 kids: that their genetic makeup was the closest to the one found in the forerunner cylix things

Still hate how Chief is so not like Chief. Can you imagine him in the games choking somebody and threatening to punch of hole in him?
And how many times has he gone rogue now? 4 or 5?
With zero consequences for him and his team
To be fair chief was left to die, which lead to the death of one of his spartans and then hunted by ONI. It's not like he just went rogue because why not.

If they manage to do a season 3, they really need to just steer clear from the silly drama plots. i do agree with the Onyx, maybe change how events happen, but still keep the same overall plot. But who knows considering the whole budget cuts for this season. Regarding Chief, just pls no more chief fighting without armor unless it's really needed, at least this.
Him fighting without armor was part of the plot.
I have to say, this was definitely the stronger episode of the show. Makee and Kwan, FINALLY being made at least a little relevant is refreshing, and finding out Perez is a Spartan 3, Makee's pact with Uta' (arby), and Makee killed the priest because he let his guard down. I reckon it turns out there's no alpha, delta, epsilon halo's because the writers made it so there's only 1 halo, it would be stupid enough to fit what the writers do
100% they’re doing some 1 ring to rule them all type shit
Well the show uses singular nouns. Even forerunner architecture shows *A RING* instead of *RINGS* like the control room on the Ark in Halo 3. They also seem to show some kind of reverence for the rings, but it wasn't like that in forerunner culture. Covenant yes because they worship forerunner architecture and technology, but the forerunners didn't revere their own weapon of galactic destruction.
You *can* make excuses for them saying "halo will destroy everything" because it's technically true, one halo does cause a chain reaction to fire the others. But the way the show uses singular nouns like I've said, you could also say they're doing the "one ring" trope where it really is just one ring that destroys the galaxy.
In the silver timeline, I'm betting that requiem and the Ark(s) don't even exist. The rings just exist for plot convenience, which is where the show fails. In other things, such minute details like the Ark creating halos is left for exterior canon to the games, like books and stuff most people don't read. But in Halo 3, the world feels alive because it explains where the Halos came from. There's a lot of information about the universe that Halo takes place in. Whereas in the show, the rings just exist because they do, and we're not meant to ask where they came from.
@@rasplez9889 yeah and when they reveal that the internet's gonna go ballistic
@@shabibmahab sadly yeah
I'm glad I can watch the synopsis from you instead of giving myself a lobotomy
This episode was really good, as well as your video. I’ve always wanted to see a Forerunner City map in BTB or a huge map with 3 different cities within a triangle. For example, UNSC - Spartan City, Covenant - Arbiter City, Forerunner - Didact City, with a Flood area in the middle that connects them together above and below the cities. This idea could definitely be used for a variety of different things.
But keep up the good work on future Halo content.
Plot twist: It's Zeta Halo, and they do the Endless before the games do.
that would be very " A Song of Ice and Fire" of them
I would enjoy that. We need to see the Endless and everyone knows 343 will never do it.
Bigger plot twist: The entire halo TV show is actually a new reality created by the endless. That's their power that makes them worse than the flood. Chief will realize the entire story of the universe got changed and reset the timeline back to the way it was in core canon.
Plz don't say that Infinite left off with a cliffhanger.
I wonder why they have barely shown the grunts
I keep telling myself theyre saving the cgi budget for when they're on the Halo.
@@salazar591 They could use children / small people with costumes for Grunts.
You already know that they are gonna make the flood normal zombies.
Damn I expected him to board a warship and actually stick with lore I wanted to see the horrors inside a halcyon class cruiser but now he’s just gonna fly a condor towards the ring 🤣🤣
There are more surprises? Gosh.
I appreciate that you really want to see the spartans in their armor. It gives me chills and butterflies when I see MC in his armor. You have to take into account, the actors are trying to get more work after this show runs its course. The actor playing MC is probably pushing for his face to have as much screen time as possible so he can get more work.
I wouldn't be surprised if 343 Guilt Spark isn't even a monitor at this point
I don't think they're gonna use the military alphabet for the halo rings I got a feeling they're gonna name it some absurd
First Ring - The Blessed Circle. Second Ring - The Blessed(er) Circle
@@joshuagerloff4065 bro I'd put money on that
By the rings, the halo tv show actually did something really cool? How long will it take for them to ruin it
5 minutes into the next episode
@@Wazzup41407more like 2 minutes
If there's a cheeseburger in a trashcan I'm still not gonna eat it
I love how with every video I have no clue if it’s the best or worst thing ever, but it’s certain that whatever it is, it’s unbelievable.
The Blessed One plot line IS the genesong plot line from Halo though Luke. Halsey literally said she found the humans with mixed dna in today's episode to make them Spartans, which from Halo 4 we know was always the eventuality the Librarian wanted when she did the genesong seeding of forerunner dna into humans. You're my favorite Halo CZcamsr so please know I mean no disrespect but I'm genuinely confused as to how the blessed one plotline doesn't make sense given its literally been confirmed today to be the genesong seeding plot line from the games.
Edit: Even in Halo CE chief's latent forerunner dna activates and he was able to figure out what forerunner symbols he needed to press and even cortana questioned how he knew. Feels like the blessed one plot in the series is actually doing a pretty good job at showcasing the genesong seeding effects from the games.
Genesong lore is real but all humans can interact with Forerunner tech in ways the Covenant races (etc.) cannot. The TV show is doing something more like Stargate where only very specific humans can use Ancient tech.
@reminiscentiaoff4669 That is a fair evaluation actually. I'd argue that this blessed one take makes more sense simply in the sense that Chief in the games is seeded with the didact dna, Halsey the Librarian, so on, and since the Forerunners had genetically determined rate classes (warrior, builder, the ones who dealt with abimal and plant life, and I forget the fourth), it makes a lot of sense to me that the different seeded genesongs would produce unique "abilities" or things only certain genes can do and others can't. That was the whole concept of the rate class system if I'm not mistaken--an example is you were born to be a builder because your genetic potential is in line with that, and therefore you can't be say a warrior like the didact was. So yeah, I actually dig how they're sort of doing this concept--each seeded individual has things they can all do yet also things only they can do (Chief with the manifestation/luck, Halsey being drawn to the mixed dna to produce the Spartan eventuality like the Librarian intended, Kwan with visions of the flood, Kesler with knowledge of where the planets and stars are exactly located at any given point in the Universe [shown in episode 2 I believe], so on.
That was REALLY long I do apologize lol I'm just really happy to have a non-toxic discussion about the things happening in this series for a change & the possible directions it's going. Thanks for that. ✌️
@@jordondepoti6637 No problem! And I enjoyed your Really Long, it's nice to see! And it's been a few years since I read the Forerunner Trilogy. Halo fans often tend to be quick to argue haha. I wonder if they will do anything at all with the fact that Spark also mistakes John for the Iso-Didact repeatedly during CE or not. TV John Halo literal reincarnation of the funny hybrid guy.
I hope the flood are handled with at least a decent level of respect, I'm happy/surprised to see them at all tbh. Since the code(?) for flood infestations was repurposed in Season 1 I wasn't really sure if they would commit to having them given how wildly different the silver timeline take on things is. Seeing a Forerunner this early is also insane. The show can redeem itself right now if they just go for a flood outbreak on Onyx (/lh).
@@reminiscentiaoff4669 Oh they DEFINITELY will be doing the guilty spark "you ARE forerunner" moment, and then later I think we'll get the reveal from the Librarian/Halsey that as to "who" that forerunner he was seeded with was. I mean, that forerunner corpse clutching the flood vial in todays episode had to be the Librarian, right? And if we're already getting her, well...the story of her husband and John, the inheritor of his potential, cant be far behind imo.
As for the Flood, I think you nailed it. They're definitely going to showcase Onyx getting ravaged by the organism, and it will probably find its way onto ships and attempt to spread out further into the galaxy. There's two paths I see it going from here: either they activate the Halo and destroy all life within the sector while John and a few others escape via some way, OR they make the big mistake and try to use the spike-explosion plot point to wipe out the infection with the blast.
Latter might actually make more sense since realistically humanity has no knowledge of how absolutely terrifying this parasite is.
Either way, I feel like they showed us in todays episode the tone the show will be taking from here on with the Flood now taking center stage and the dark truths about humanity and the forerunners about to come to light: it will feel like a horror story, as it should, lol. The vibes today alone during the whole shield world-forerunner scenes was nothing short of eerie, and then we see Kwan who knows of the flood become so terrified (she NEVER gets scared in this show, like, at all) SPRINT AWAY AT FULL SPEED SCREAMING THEY'VE ALL GOT TO GO NOW THE MONSTER IS COMING.
That's GOTTA be setting the tone for the next phase of this show. Plus they did the elite fights really well and made them feel eerie in their own way too with the invisible pack hunters you'll never see coming kinda imagery they showcased.
11:03 Miranda is becomes a proto gravemind instead of her father maybe???
I called the Spike making the ship explode. Though I assumed Ackerson knew. Why else would he not program in exfil into the simulation? I guess he had the idiot ball along with Kai.
WOO! Master Chief is wearing his armor... the bar is so low for this show 😭
All they had to do with this show was retell the Halo games, line for line, cutscene for cutscene, with cinematic battles to replace gameplay sections
They had it so easy but nah we gotta do this “silver timeline” BS
if that's what you want play the games
Paramount: * "wErE iT sO eAsY" intensifies *
I can't believe they actually made Kwan tolerable. Maybe someday she'll even be likable.
The way they just found the soon to be flood just reminded me of halo ce how the covenant missed translated the flood as a weapon cache and started the outbreak
ONI is apparently said that way in military circles. We may have been saying it wrong this whole time?
The Fall of Reach narrator on Spotify always says O-N-I instead of Oni. It drives me crazy 🤦🏻♂️
Every time i see Kwan or the blessed one, i hear Eric Cartman "put a chick in it and make it lame"
Every video you do on season two something you say every video you say something and it slowly getting better but every video this is so funny😂 because I don’t think anyone knew it was gonna get better
I think that, because 343 love using more recent pieces of Halo media whenever they feel they can get away with it, regardless of main Halo cannon, (the Spartan-III’s using commando rifles, Master Chief’s armor design being more like Infinite’s etc.) that the Halo is going to be Zeta Halo, because it’s one of the Halos 343 made for one of their games. Just a thought.
Not one of 343s halo's, but 343s ONLY halo. A big complaint about Halo 4 and Halo 5 is that the games didn't even have a Halo ring in them. ODST and Reach are excused for telling side stories, but reach especially for bridging the gap between reach and the autumn finding the first Halo.
Infinite's Zeta Halo was the first ring 343 has included since they took over the series. 4 would have been okay if Halo 5 had a ring, because requiem was cool. But because 5 also didn't have a ring, it made 4 look worse in retrospect.
