it would have been amazing to keep Mario in the Wii sports games and even as referee in the Punch Out Wii game
Mario and Luigi also appear in the gameboy version of Tetris representing players one and two when competing against a friend.

Love the new intro... But also love when he pronounces Japanese developer/artist names... Most of us have no idea if he's correct lol, but he goes for it - sounds confident... and you just don't question The Gaming Historian...

I highly doubt that there is a person alive who has played more Wrecking Crew than my almost 90 year old grandmother. She still has an NES with that game hooked to her TV to this day. She had zero interest in any other game. Though I do remember her playing a little Tony bit of paperboy but for the better part of 35 years she’s been playing it and playing it and playing it. I use to build her the most impossible levels with just maybe one or two ways to win out of thousands of options and as long as everything could be reached she’d fined away by the time I woke up in the morning. I no joke would guess she’s gone through probably 8-10 NES over the years
That's awesome? Has you ever tried introducing her to others who love the game? There's gotta be a community for everything.

Those lesser known appearances probably helped popularize Mario. All about exposure.

This is probably gonna make you feel really old, but dang, your videos were such an integral part of my childhood. My brother and I would watch these and the (gameflop?) series all the time. I haven't really watched you since you originally deleted or whatever the reason was for stopping. It's good to see you again.

I've been collecting some Game Boy games that Mario has appeared in - F-1 Race, Qix, Alleyway. A lot of the early first-party titles had a Mario cameo.

I love the pinball game, Yoshi was super fun in 2player mode. Wrecking crew is actually really hard but fun.

That's clearly intended to be Mario in _Golf_ . _Captain Rainbow_ implying differently 25 years after the fact is not "revealing" or "confirming" anything, it's just retconning.

4:14 interesting, this game was named Mario & Yoshi in Europe and it was one of my favourite Gameboy games back then. :) I could play it for hours as a child, didn't know it was perceived so poorly by critics.
For the record, beating Tetris's B-Type on Level 9 at ANY height causes the screen with Nintendo characters. But higher Heights make more of these characters appear: Pit from Kid Icarus, Samus from Metroid, Link from Legend of Zelda, Bowser, and Peach are all there, too. Mario only appears on Level 9, Height 5, though.
You should try to do a video of Daisy's early appearances. Back in the early 90's, Princess Daisy was just another character and has made minor appearances during that decade.
Strange that I have recollections of playing that Breakout mini-game in Pinball, but I don't have any of playing Pinball itself.
