I stand by what I said. Also great video as always Shizu.
That's insane luck 😉
Dream come true from the start
Is the us release going to be fully voiced qnd will it be american,
@@avaforlife4141 It will have the same amount of voicing as JP - really important scenes such as Main Story will be fully voiced, while other scenes like talking to NPCs or Traveler Stories will tend to not be fully voiced.
It will all be Japanese audio.
As someone who always comes into gatchas halfway through their lifetimes, it'll be interesting starting from the "beginning". I get to watch the powercreep in real-time!
Haha, it’ll be same for me. I’m excited and it’ll be interesting for sure
I saw it on Fire Emblem heroes and oh boy...
Thank you 👍 As Genshin Impact player on day one Is knida blessing for knowing how get the best start and not get screw too much with Gacha
Your first video made me want up pick up this game, and this is another great video. Thank you for providing these detailed, clear explanations of the game. This is exactly what I want to learn when I start a new gacha.
Awesome and super useful video! I saw that you have a spreadsheet with the timeline of the banners! that's super useful too.
Your videos are excellent and that was an incredible roll ^-^
Very good and thorough. I did play it at 1.25x speed midway to speed it up. And I did watch this 2x to see the different rates for banners.
Really, really appreciate this, thank you!
Nice video! Definitely looking forward to the full release. Would you say that rerolling in this game is useful, or if it’s takes a long time to do a reroll? That viola character looked very interesting to me, and I like debuffer characters so I’m hoping I can get her when the game comes out.
It'll depend on whether the guaranteed 5* is available on the full release.
On Closed Beta you're guaranteed 1 random 5* but on JP release you were not.
Thanks for the video much informative! I was wondering about the characters own prologues/chapters. Not just 5 star units but 3 stars as well, do we unlock those after getting to their respective hometown or do we just need to have them?
Usually new Traveler Stories are unlocked after the Main Story Chapter there has been completed. Also, the appropriate Level to take on their Traveler Stories usually matches the area it takes place in, so even if it's a low-rarity character, if their story takes place in a higher level area such as the Highlands (~Lv50ish area), their Traveler Story will be around that level as well.
@@ShizukatzCotC Awesome! Thank you so much for this info. Im gathering all the info I can get my hands on for the global release since i couldnt be in the beta. I wanna know all there is to know and then make a plan on how im gonna start. Btw would you have a discord server?
yes, check the description for a link to the discord!
I was ridiculously lucky with my initial pull for global and I got Viola as my starter, then in my 10-pull I got Millard, Gilderoy and Lynette. I'm thinking I should just sit on any rubies I get for awhile?
About the formation you did (with the exception of the missing scholar), is that the generally recommended formation (front: axe, sword, cane, fan; back: bow, lance, tome, dagger) ?
There is no "generally recommended formation" in this game; over the course of playing the game you will be using lots of different team comps for various fights.
That being said, there are a couple principles that I applied to the formation, and it wasn't just "willy nilly throw a team together".
I'll probably do a more in-depth video at some point down the line, but one quick one is that I spread out units of the same weapon. For ex. I do not put Theo and Merrit in the same row because if the enemy is not weak to axes, that row is pretty useless. However, if they are, this allows both Theo and Merrit to knock down shields at the same time.
Are there any "special" banners in the future? Since this game takes many systems from Another Eden, I'm wondering if those types of banners also appear here. For example, sometimes in AE, you get banners with the only 5*s available being 5 specially selected ones and with a boosted rate of 5% vs the usual 3.3% total.
There are some banners that have increased 5* Rates, but they do not have that feature where the only available 5*s are specific units. The featured unit will simply be a rate-up.
@@ShizukatzCotC Good to know. How much is the rate up compared to normal?
Great Video! Do you know if the progress from the beta will be saved in the full game?
It will not. For that reason, if you are in the Closed Beta, definitely spend more of your time enjoying the game instead of using all your time rerolling :)
So the reason I didn't get a class up with a duplicate is because I roll two (3.5 level) units of the same rarity? and so if I roll a 3.5 and then a 4 level character then I get a class up and the Guidestones right?
Also great advice for how much you should roll at the beginning. This the info I'm looking for before the game releases.
Correct. You must roll the full rarity version in order to get a Class-Up.
I didn't get... So Is always better to roll on featured instead of permanent banner even if did not reach the "pity"?
OMG--6 months later I've been rolling for Viore + Lyn + Theo ON THE SAME x10, BRUH! Congratz, lol
Hi, I’m new to the game. Not to Gacha though. Should I be focusing on step up banners as a new player
- is it possible to reroll?
- is it gacha limited units in the game or all of them goes to default gacha pull?
- how dupes are important? Its not clear after both guides.
- as f2p is it possible to get dupes or its better to get more new units?
- for step-up banners its better to make one 10x roll with discount and then wait for another step-up or goes to the end with all 5 steps?
- what about powercreep? Its important to know as for f2p
- does game have any events or its just a story?
- as I get it right, game takes story update once per month? How much story in every update? I mean in time how long it takes to read all new lines
- story will get to new locations and places or we will have fixed map and just run it all over again?
- Should be possible to reroll with at least a 10-roll upon full release.
- Most gacha units are permanent, with the exception being a handful of units (currently around 9 on JP), as well as the collaboration units from Bravely and Nier Automata.
- For a normal gameplay experience, dupes are not needed. They are basically just making your quality-of-life better.
- You will end up with some dupes at some point, it is gacha after all so not really up to us :^)
- There's not so much powercreep because multiple units of the same weapon type will often be run alongside each other, so a lot of units available in the game can see use.
- 90% Story. The only events are the collaborations (Bravely and Nier) which lasted a few weeks apiece.
- Each new story chapter probably gives around 3-4 hours of story gameplay, as well as new towns with new weapons/armor that you can pick up as well, and new dungeons.
@@ShizukatzCotC thanks you a lot! And I have I few more questions:
- how endgame gesr grind works? I hear that players should grind for some items, but how many time it will takes, how nececary it is etc.
- how often game gets new bosses/challenges?
- I know that cotc is a prequel and story starts "3 year before" original. And how time goes through chapters? After 1.5 years of updates its still "3 year before" or story moves closer to original timeline?
Hi, I know this isn't related but, is Cotc the same as the Switch game in which you have to guess the enemy's element or whatever it's called and use a corresponding attack to do any sort of damage?
Hitting weaknesses is just as big a part of CotC as in the original Switch Game, yea. Compared to the original, it's actually more important, since you still need to hit weaknesses even when the enemy is Broken. However, because you can arrange your teams in a lot more ways than in original, this isn't as hard as it sounds.
@@ShizukatzCotC Yikes, that's what turned me off from the original after the 1st battle. I'm more of a casual gamer so I don't want to remember every enemy's weakness or have to resort to looking each of them up on the internet, just to do any real damage.
In that case, a character I would look out for in your rolls is a 4* Scholar named Peredir, he will make your life much easier. As you run around through new areas, he will reveal 1 weakness from all enemies every time you enter combat, just like Cyrus in OG. And unlike in OG, you can just run away 100% guaranteed, allowing you to run through the area and reveal all the weaknesses, then come back to fight the enemies later when you need to. This also works against Elite enemies - just go in, run, go in, run.
For bosses, he also has a skill that can reveal additional weaknesses. He's not the best combat unit, as his damage multipliers on his skills are fairly low, but he's an amazing unit for keeping your sanity :)
@@ShizukatzCotC Thanks for the info. Is he OP/a good character, other than this reveal skill though?
Compared to the other Scholars available, they have better overall kits (higher damage nukes, more multi-hit) but they also... aren't Fire. So if you happen to be fighting enemies weak to Fire, he's probably the 2nd best Fire unit available on launch, after Lynette.
So 200 is the pity role? And you can buy a sacred seal for a certain character if you rolled on there banner of course. Then you could use the seal to get them guaranteed?
Yes, that is how the Spark system in this game works.
For awakening collab characters, do I have to pull then 5 times to get them to their maximum potential?
Technically 6, if you also want to have Lv10 Special down the line.
That being said, having characters with 0 Awakening is perfectly fine.
I looked there and there but couldn't find my answer. When you summon, which rubies is spent first, the paid ou the free?. I need the paid for the daily 1 summon and I don't know If I can summon elsewhere and keep my paid one?
Thanks for all you vids that are incredible!
Free rubies are always spent first :)
@@ShizukatzCotC thank you very very much 🥰
The only question in my mind is why the need for 3.5 and 4.5 star versions.... Mainly for monetization purposes?
To be completely honest, yea that's probably the answer I'd come up with. Even though there are ways to upgrade to a full 4/5* without paying, it definitely opens up additional incentives to put money into the game.
subscribed. I am hyped for this game. maybe may or june to go global?
The game is scheduled for a "Summer 2022" release so probably as early as end of June? Fingers crossed!
So I'm guessing I shouldn't pull on the featured banner at launch since Millard isn't all that good
I would probably reroll on the regular banner, yea. It makes hitting the more sought-after units like Lynette and Viola easier.
What is "Millard Sparking"? Nothing got explained there lol
Hi question, how much paid rubies can you get for lets say 100US?
Sorry for the late response. Assuming rates are similar to JP rates, it will be roughly 30-40 rolls per $100 USD.
@@ShizukatzCotC thank you, am pretty excited for more of your contented. Thanks for the reply.
Just to confirm the only way to get awakening stones is via dupes?
Yup! Keep in mind though that Awakening is not necessary for progression and is more of a Quality-of-life buff if anything; content is balanced around no Awakening! :)
I did 5 multis and didnt even get a 4,5 character T.T
How do keep yourself hopeful about pulling new characters with such abysmal rates? It’s even worse than in Another Eden (4% vs ~6.6% for 4.5 or 5 star)
As far as I'm concerned, those rates are actually pretty good
As an FGO player Im used to to have no hope and to only pray to RNG xD
I don't understand what gacha means or banners. Isn't just referring to a pay to win mechanic or dlc tech?
This game follows a monetization model that's been popular over the last decade or so - the game itself is free but comes with the option to pay money for gacha.
Basically it works like this: you play the game, and doing stuff in-game will give you a currency called Rubies, which you can use to try to get new characters (at this point, you have not spent any money yet). If you want, you may also put money into the game for additional Rubies for more attempts.
Playing without paying money is referred to as "F2P" - Free to Play, and this is a very viable way to play this game.
@@ShizukatzCotC oh I understand thanks for clarifying. I just never heard the term gacha but I've played games that are f2p with option to p2w
"Gacha" comes from the term 'gachapon'; they're basically those toy dispensers you stick a few quarters in and get a random toy in a capsule. In games, it's basically the same concept - you pay and then the game will spit out units for you to add to your collection, except different characters will have different rarities, and as such, different rates to be pulled.
@@ShizukatzCotC oh that sounds fine. Kinda like when you buy digital card packs in ultimate team for sport games
He is one of the strongest healer even in late game 3000-4000 hp healing it’s just way too good l. As longest there is no poison or burning affect on you he is the best healer. Too bad he can’t revive people and no defend effect skill.
algorith boost comment lol
yo we take those
10:48 RIGGED LOL
The gacha is bad as it is in another eden ... problably the publisher is the white brothers ... they killed echoes of mana in record tome if those gacha mechanics and now they gonna kill this one too ... that paid/free distinction is a very shit thing as Well.
Lol dis shud of been a mobile game as well.
