Just loaded my 2012 F150 FX2 with 3000 lb Sod pallet i was a little scared it wouldnt handle load cause max payload capacity on this truck is like 19k. No issues was riding low but drove good no issues.

Once the truck drops down to the bump stops, it doesn't go any further... I've had five tons on ,, three-quarter ton and 1 ton pickups. And I've had thirteen tons... on my 1 ton dually 7 times.. I'd never do that to my old trucks I love... 79 three-quarter, ton camper special with a big block... I've been running her, forty years,, and I haven't broke her yet...
Had 3k pallet of stone on the back of my 88 F150. 4.9 with a T18 4 spd, 4wd with coilovers in the rear. Never touched the bump stops. Wouldn’t do it everyday but it’ll take it. THAT was not 3k.
I've loaded them down till the front wheels came off the ground... And had to unload some to be able to steer... Hit a bump and the front wheels come off the ground ,, and no steering again... Of course it wasn't my truck...
GURVIRRR if you're going anywhere off road that you're going to need tires and a lift, you're also going to be 4x4. This is common sense, it's just another pavement princess trying to be cool.
Justin W prerunners and race trucks are almost always 2wd, not sure why we're even arguing about this, its his truck he can do whatever he wants to it without ppl calling him a "pavement princess"
WantSome Mor a locker is sufficient but suspension is really crucial on washboard road that's painful on your suspension and you don't need 4×4 unless it's pretty sever
@@Ryan-ue9ve It's not about dirt, nobody offroads on "dirt". You can't go anywhere without 4wd and good mud tires on clay, deep snow, mud and wet grass.
Whatever a vehicle, jack, or lift is rated at, it has to withstand twice the amount of weight during testing/ rating in order to have it classified. Don't quote me on that, but for safety and liability against the manufacturer, I'm sure it's a good rule of thumb. However, quality of product, weathering, routine maintenance, and human error always play a big factor. Always put safety first. Endangering yourself and other people are not worth the risk.
musicpunk5 - that’s absolutely not correct. The vehicle is rated to preform safely at the manufacture weight limits. It may preform with heavier weight, but the manufacturer is not responsible once you passed one pound passed that limit. Also for these guys that are going passed the weight limit, you are shorting the vehicles life span. It taxes your springs, brakes, engine, transmission, and many other parts. So plan on parts wearing out prematurely.
musicpunk5 - I’m sorry, but I said something completely different. They don’t have to double the weight limit to get it certified. Where did you get that from?
Mike Miller I never said it has to been tested at twice the weight, I said that is most often how they achieve their rating results. I worked at a load test facility, and every manufacturer has different ranges on their limits specifically based on their business insurance deductible/ liability. Maybe you misunderstood the point I was trying to make. No manufacturer wants one pound difference to be the difference between lawsuit or no lawsuit. That's why there is such a big threshold. No judge would rule in favor of a muli million/ billion dollar company if there were evidence that the company had not had those thresholds in place.
musicpunk5 - it’s really amazing how many people claim they work for such places to gain more credibility. There is no such place that just tests loads. I can explain what places there is out there, but I don’t want to give people like yourself more knowledge on how to continue with their misguided claims. I myself have had experience with how things are supervised or investigated when claims are made against manufactures. I also guarantee that if any company has a weight limited stated and the consumer admits to over loading the item, even by one pound, that claimant will loose that lawsuit. A lot of people think that items are tested such way as you claim. But I promise you that most are not tested unless they have failed many times or has caused a human death. Do not put your trust in manufacturing to test their items they sell. You basically, as a consumer, are their Guinea pigs.
The unknown factor is the water content. Most yards keep their sod very wet and water is heavy. Regardless, lift kits are usually not designed with heavy loads in mind. When I bought my 2019 raptor, the next thing I bought was a hauling trailer. The only thing that gets loaded in my bed are golf clubs,,, lol
I am paused at :19 seconds right now and I just noticed that this shiny Gem is lifted...That's about to change. I just wonder 'why?' but not for too long because it's just not worth it. But, here we go.
LowNSlowIII I live in New York upstate and my dad owns a black dirt sod farm with some of the best sod in the northeast let alone US. For us, a pallet weighs 1000lb dry and closer to 1400 to 2000 lbs when wet. However, this is not black dirt and is gray soil, naturally making the sod rolls heavier. However, loading this much weight into a 3/4 quarter ton pick up is not smart and can break a lot of stuff.
Jonathan Galvez well I guess u better tell the other 50 or so people in this comment section that since u feel the urge to be the Wikipedia of CZcams. Dumbass🤦 here u go🏆 feel better now. Mike Miller we work in the black dirt. As a result, a dry pallet is 1000lbs and a wet pallet is around 1400 to 2000 lbs. This is gray soil/sand so it weighs more than the lighter black dirt. There is less dirt on black dirt sod rolls than these kind, making black dirt rolls weigh less. A a result, I estimate this pallet to weigh 2000lbs dry, and 3000lbs wet. I didn't mean to say 3k lbs since it isn't wet. However, putting this much weight on a 3/4 ton pickup up can break a lot of stuff and this guy is bull shitting if he really thinks his truck has a 19k lbs pay load.
that's not really special boys I no men who have putt 7000.lb.in the back of a 95 ford one ton it was ceder.logs and I have putt over 4000 lb.of gravel in a 3/4 ton ford as well and it was a 82 model ford and the trucks rodent go into limp mode if you hit a match stick in the road
You dont need 4 wheel drive just give it a light bar oh im sure it got one with this lift and mud tires 2wd drive truck 🤣🤣🤣ford people just like jeep people
You do know why people put larger trick tires on 2 wheel drive trucks. Right? For hauling. You have thicker sidewalls. More ply tires. Better DOT rating. It's when you get into the 31x10.50s and above with non radicals you jump into a 6 ply tire.
All the beer cans blowing out 😱😱🤣
would have been nice if you finish the video
I didn't believe it weighed 3,000 lbs but apparently a pallet can weigh between 1,500 to 3,000 lbs depending on moisture content.
you went full retard
That's an interesting loader, never seen one before.
Legend Cox . You don't get out much?
It's a truck mounted forklift, they're usually seen riding on the back semi trucks which is how they got their name
They're commonly called a donkey. That pallet could easily weigh in at 3k, I have first hand experience, unfortunately.
No way thats 3000 pounds. That truck would be bottomed out
That load is not even close to 3,000 lbs
Erik K a pallet of sod is 2000 dry and 3000 wet.
justhays
So is that saying you would need to water it with over 125 gallons of water? 🤔
Gallon of water is 8.3 lbs.
Yes, that is what he was saying.
Charlie Smythe
That don't even make sense. That's too much water. Companies don't water a pallet of sod with 100 gallons of water.
Not cost effective

Liquid tote weighs 3k. Those pallets of sod weigh 1800-2k. Depends on how much moisture is in soil when cut. And those were rolled vs flat
Nice shot of the ground.
No steering, no brakes. Dangerous.

Now thats a FORD buddyy
Lifted with off road tires on a FX2?? WHY? Also, that’s 1,000 lbs more than the rated payload. A 2018 long bed truck is rated for 3K.
maybe he lives in a dry environment and doesn't need 4x4?
GURVIRRR if you're going anywhere off road that you're going to need tires and a lift, you're also going to be 4x4. This is common sense, it's just another pavement princess trying to be cool.

Prices are crazy high. I don't blame the guy. If you're reading this, your truck is badass!! 🔥
Nice truck
Good driving there
Would be a badass truck, if it was 4wd lol

Dude, 19k lbs is for semi truck trailers.
Sitting on the bump stops, it's not a super doody
That doesnt look like a full pallet of sod. I thought there were about 100 rolls in a full pallet.
Michultra can blowin out the back
Key point don't take the tailgate off.......
Be careful not to dent that aluminum box

congrats a 100K car instaed of a 10K good trailer
Heavy Duty Payload package would handle that easy.
Jake Logan that year model in a crew can short bed has a rating of about 2k. The heavy payload package requires at least a 6.5’ bed.

I'm guessing you're not aware that a unit of sod is about 3000lb when wet? I lay the stuff for a living and that most certainly is around 3k.

FX2...lol
Probably doesn’t live in an area with snow and not having 4wd adds to your payload. So it does make sense for some people.
How did you know that weighted 3000 pounds?
EASY MATH !!!! 150 ....20 pound sod rolls......
ceedaddy I don’t count 150 rolls.
+flight2k5 ....okay how about 75 forty pound sod rolls...
Ford owner logic
ceedaddy can you count?
I have my doubt about that weight... I can't get the math to come up to 3000 lbs...
What’s the point of lifting a 2wd truck
Why would you lift a truck that you have to do work with? That’s kinda backwards.
Lift kits on 2-wheel drive trucks is the dumbest shit
How the ride went ?
60 twenty pound rolls of fescue = 3K?
60 rolls at 8lbs
They are not 20 lbs
Not a chance.

all I saw was a red strip
Not near 3000 lbs at all I have an fx4 05 I’ve put over 2 tons of payload weighted concrete way passed the max payload but did well!
yeah, it's better with brake...
Pallet of sod=2000lbs
I would hope it could haul it. I have a 2008 Rav4 that could load down 1500lbs no problem of rock. I would expect a TRUCK to easily double that.
he fucked up your bediner dude!
3000 lbs mu
Ass
fx2 ? weird thing to stunt
600 lbs at most. That garbage can wouldn’t take much more.
1st. That sod is dry as can be. 2nd a pallet is no 3k. 3rd if it was your shit would be sagging way way past the point safety
I question if that is 3000 pounds
10 rolls per layer, 6 layers high. That's 60 rolls at 50 lbs her wet roll. 60 x 50. Yeah its at 3000 lbs
prob 2k not 3k
