Reading a manual is one thing, but it's so nice having a calm, simple explanation of what all the plugs are and what they might look like. I was following along with my new board, and this removed a lot of anxiety. Thank you so much!
The manual is a joke!
Lot of manuals don't really help, following them alone is not enough especially for a first time builders

I’m building my pc and I was so stressed out figuring out where certain cables go on the mobo and this truly helped me! Thank you!
Super glad to hear!
@@TechRoundUp I noticed that my mobo doesn’t have the usb c header 8:22 I have the msi mpg x570 gaming plus
Yeah not every one will
@@TechRoundUp just built my pc. It turns on for 7 secounds and turns back off. Nothing comes up on the screen while it is doing this. Any ideas before I have a breakdown? Lol
That can sometime be power supply related, I would just make sure all of those cables are properly connected
For a first time builder this was extremely informative, thanks!

Not enough build videos go into this detail. Thank you!
Not enough? more like none lol.
Thanks for making the video. I've just received my chip and board today & this is exactly what I needed to ease the nerves on my first build. Thank you. 👍
how did your build go? :)
@@RageGate Hi rage and thank you for asking. I actually finished it last week. The full build was completed a few months back apart from the GPU which you can see on my community page. I managed to pick a 3070ti up for £250!!! last week. Well 350 but sold old card for 100quid so happy days..
Finally decided to build my own PC, all the connections and headers are a bit confusing but your breakdown made it super easy to understand. Thank you!
Very helpful for newbies such as I who are largely ignorant to this whole process.
Is just all fancy lego, isn't it?
Was daunting at first but it's definitely a fun process once you finally get to sit down with everything and plug stuff in.
You're a good teacher, man.
Thank you!
i spent 6 hours building for the first time and it is way to confusing for me lol
Indeed. I have a dumb question though: the fan HUB in my DarkBase 900 (version 2) has a PWM connector to the mobo. As I understand it, PWM will regulate the speed of the included PWM fans (according to temperature) - SO which motherboard fan header do I use?
I'm a complete dipshit when it comes to these things but I sorta understand.
My understanding is that motherboards have a bunch of fan plug-in-spots but one is special as it comes with more abilities/settings than the rest and it's ment for water-cooling, I believe.
Can plug whatever random fan in there that ya want since the plug thingy is universal.
Mine largly looks the same as the rest just with the unique trait being text written on the motherboard identifying it as "special" for lack of better word.
Don't take my word for hard fact since I totally 100% bullshit and lucked my way through the entire process of building my first PC.
Still got plenty to learn so I may be of little to no use in the way of helping.
@@flyingtuffy3502 ive been building for the past five days... a little bit at a time.
@@yacqub just built my first in 2 hrs
I spent 3 hours trying to find the cpu connector and this would have been SOOO useful!
This video maybe 2 years old, but this helped me a lot. I've been contemplating updating my power supply (so that it can support a better graphics card in future) and my cpu cooler, but I was intimidated as hell when I opened my case to give everything a thorough cleaning the other day with all the cables I saw. I'd have no idea what to disconnect to do the replacements. But this makes it much less stressful. Seems like I'd only have a few things to disconnect to do those upgrades.
You saved my first ever PC building process. Thanks man.
Absolutely amazing video. I'm on my second build in 3 years, but it's so nice to have this as a reference.
Well done.
I recently bought my very first pc. It’s a prebuilt pc that is intended to be a work station but has the perfect hardware for gaming, so it’s got a very ugly case. This video helped me overcome the anxiety of actually touching the internals and finally swapping the case. Thank you!!!

oh the kid in me still lives :)
All those channels out there will millions of subs and none of them have videos this helpfull. Most of them are for people who already know everything. Thanks a lot man.
I built my first PC with the help of a friend in 2016--planning out an upgrade (finally) towards the end of this year but I'll be doing everything on my own, so just re-familiarizing myself with some of the finer building details...definitely the most nervous about motherboard stuff, but just watching this video has already helped me immensely. Thank you friend
For anyone else wondering, if you are looking for a 3 pin addiontal RGB header there is one under where the sata connectors are located.:)

I am very happy that all of these different videos regarding the same thing exist, I’ve learnt so much now and this video helped me get over my worries of wiring my first pc next week :)!!
How did it go?
There are videos that are an hour and a half long that barley explain what you have clearly articulated in 15 minutes. You are a god among men.
Thanks man this really helps I nearly have all my part's for my PC build so understanding how all the cables function and where they install is awesome to know.
Having a go at my first build today and CZcams recommended this. Let’s goooooooo
Finally, someone shows where to put the case fans, ports and buttons. Coming from prebuilts with funky mobo's, this is useful to know how to connect to standard mobo
I actually didn’t really need this video I just wanted to confirm my suspicions… with that being said I stood around for the whole video because you did a great job with the explanations. Bravo 👏🏽
Thank you so very much, you are like a breath of fresh air. The best video by far I found on these connections, was getting a bit confused with fan headers vs fan hubs that come with a pack of three fans I purchased. I also have a small board attached inside the case, something to do with fans also. Haven't worked out if I need to use that or not but I will. Thanks again, well done.
Only my second time building, I love coming back to this video as a refresher, thanks a ton dude!
building my first pc build when it all gets here, super nervous but i feel like it wont be that bad either. super excited to finally get that next level experience! (hopefully)
howd it go
I was just about to build my pc, then I realised I didn’t know where to put the wires. So this was really helpful
Excellent video just what I needed to know before starting my first build

as somone looking into building their first pc, this vid was much appreciated. removed a lot of anxiety.
3:57 - 4:31 the most helpful information I got from this video cos that what my main problem is, connecting these multiple headers are quite scary and daunting as a beginner PC builder. Thank you sir!
Thanks for creating the video, it was a great tutorial! Just in case it will benefit anyone else, Im going to mention a couple of personal issues that brought me here in the first place.
I have the Asus Z590-E motherboard. this video is using the Z390-E and its similar. I am using the Seasonic TX 1000W 80 Titanium PSU with my motherboard. For CPU and mobo power, the 24 Pin thick braided cable obviously only plugs in the power supply and mobo in 1 place only. Cant mess that up!
But for the top left CPU power plugs, the Asus manual sucks as usual. There is a 4 pin receptacle next to an 8 pin receptacle. The Seasonic psu includes two cables, but labeled PSU for the PSU plug, but then each cable has (2) 4 Pin plugs. So, my logical assumption and 5 fingered hand math, tells me to use 1 cable (2 - 4 Pin plugs) for the mobo 8 pin receptacle.
Then I assume, playing guessing games with $600 worth of equipment, is to use 1 of the 4 pin connectors on the 2nd PSU/CPU power cables to plug into the 4 pin receptacle on the mobo and leave 1 (hanging).
But im here doing research before gambling and I do something wrong.
This is just 1 of my issues connecting my mobo cables. There are a few others! Im so miserably happy to report!!!!
Thank you, straight to the facts and no time wasting
i cant thank you enough, i was replacing my case, and after i unplugged everything off my mother board i couldn't figure out what goes where , i watched your video and thanks to you my system is running perfect
This is a really well explained and in depth video coming from a first time builder with relative knowledge thanks very much 👍
WOW I cannot explain how helpful this is! I am subscribing just because of this. I LOVE YOU FOR THIS
Taking apart my pc and revisiting this video! I'm sure this wasn't the most fun video to make but it really helps my anxiety and is so much easier to follow than the manual❤❤❤
This helped out a bunch! I'm a first time builder and this just helped me plug everything in.
Thanks for the information about fans. It's actually challenging for someone doing this for the first time. I'll be daisy chaining the thermal right fans and plugging them straight into the mobo to save some money.
I haven't built a computer for a while and thanks to your video, it has helped to refresh me to complete my build, peace
This is probs one of the best breakdown videos I've found
Thanks for this! Just picked up my motherboard yesterday.
font panel connectors are so much fun!! /s seriously they should create a different connection system for those wires. Skinny wires, into skinny pins you need a flashlight to see and the mobo reference manual to put in correctly.
6:15 so we aint talking ab what he drew?💀

@@carlosrivers27 what I did was take out the radiator of the fans and then put the radiator in the front idk what case you have but for mine I have the nx200m and I can take off the from and put the radiator then get the fans and since they have long screws fit then through the bracket I had to make a hole in mine so the aio cooler the one that goes on top of the cpu fit but that was my fix and I kept re applying thermal paste trying to find out the best and it would over heat and I didn’t have enough thermal paste but I have sun now and it performs perfect now

Thank you bro! I was installing a hard drive and I couldn't find the sata ports because it was so hidden behind all my wires
Those little stat ports are hiding under my graphics card I was scratching my head 30 mins lol. Thank you
So I'm close to starting a new build and have been looking at several videos. I've built 3 rigs already but it's always good to have videos like yours around. I was wondering about all those fan wires and just found out that you can also use Fan splitter cables. Connecting 3 fans to one header.
I got Asus Z690-P mother board and there are 4 and 8 pin connectors for the CPU.. should I use two cables one for the 8 and a second one for the 4?
Yup
Super helpful dude, thanks!

Well helpful just bought the strix z570 f for new build. cheers
I am about to build my first PC and this is pretty good to know, you left out the pci-e connector to the graphics card though, but I am sure most people know what the PCI-E cable is for. Also for my motherboard I will only have the cpu fan and optional fan. For me to plug in my other fans I plug them directly into the power supply wires for the fans? The fans I am buying will include a converter for the 4 pin fan connector to connect to the plugs from the power supply. That means I can't control those fans via software huh? Those fans will be unavailable to edit the fan speed, since they not connected directly to the motherboard? My micro atx board doesn't have extra fan connectors sadly
