- Universal Pictures will release Trancas International Films, Blumhouse Productions and Miramax’s Halloween on Friday, October 19, 2018.
Jamie Lee Curtis returns to her iconic role as Laurie Strode, who comes to her final confrontation with Michael Myers, the masked figure who has haunted her since she narrowly escaped his killing spree on Halloween night four decades ago.
Master of horror John Carpenter executive produces and serves as creative consultant on this film, joining forces with cinema’s current leading producer of horror, Jason Blum (Get Out, Split, The Purge, Paranormal Activity). Inspired by Carpenter’s classic, filmmakers David Gordon Green and Danny McBride crafted a story that carves a new path from the events in the landmark 1978 film, and Green also directs.
Halloween is also produced by Malek Akkad, whose Trancas International Films has produced the Halloween series since its inception, and Bill Block (Elysium, District 9). In addition to Carpenter and Curtis, Green and McBride will executive produce under their Rough House Pictures banner. Ryan Freimann also serves in that role.

2018 was a deadly year for movies. One of the best years in recent memory, and this movie was part of the reason. Saw it opening night, then again on Halloween night in theatres.

She was killed off twice -- off-screen in Halloween 4 and at the beginning of Halloween Resurrection.
Just to make things clear for some of the people that are confused.
Laurie Strode is alive because this takes place after the 1978 movie. It's a direct sequel to the original. None of the other movies matter here. They're making it that Michael was captured that night, 40 years ago, and he's been in prison ever since.
This is going to change some of the mythos of the story. Him being this type of supernatural immortal being is gone, along with him being Laurie's brother.

I feel like this movie took a lot of inspiration from Terminator 2. Which was a phenomenal idea to take inspiration from. Both Sarah and Laurie were victims in the first movie and in the sequel they trained to the day came their nightmare came back to haunt them. They both will do whatever it takes to protect their family.
John Carpenter is a thief, a lier. He stole Halloween. And he act like he wrote the story. What a piece of shit is John Carpenter. Watch the 1971 movie FREIGHT with Susan George, Ian Bannen and Honor Blackman: a crazy murderer escapes a mental institution and kills so many people and than try to kill a babysitter. And even the shrink with the trenchcoat is there to stop the killer. Fright, 1971 is an absolute great thriller and the three stars from the movie deserves oscars. They acted on a high level, so great en brilliant: not a single Hollywood star comes close to their magnificent performance. JOHN CARPENTER STOLE THE STORY FROM THE BRITISH, ADDED SOM NEW THINGS, MADE LITTLE CHANGES AND THAN HE HAS THE GUTS TO ACT LIKE HE WROTE HALLOWEEN AND LIKE HE WROTE AN ORIGINAL STORY. FRIGHT IS TEN TIMES BETTER THAN HALLOWEEN WILL EVER BE!!

At 53 years old, ever since the very first Halloween movie, it scared me shitless! I’ll never forget watching this movie for the very first time when it premiered in the theatres, I don’t think I slept for a week! It was rated R, but my older sister who is much older than me snuck me in, I wish to God she never did. Being a typical little kid, thinking nothing could be that scary, I remember watching the movie and crying hysterically in total panic and fear. My poor sister, she got in so much trouble, because the theatre called an ambulance for me, thinking I was having some type of medical episode, as I started to hyperventilate, and my parents threatened to kick her out of the house for it (I was 10, she was 19). I never thought I’d be able to see the rest of the movie, having been carried out on a stretcher halfway through, but the devil is alluring, and there’s just something about it that compels you to want to watch it, so just about 10 years ago, I finally worked up the nerve to watch not just the original, but all of them in the franchise, but I was wrong about one thing, I still wasn’t prepared for it. It still scared the hell out of me! I remember driving home from my friends house where we all watched it together, every little sound I heard I was convinced that Michael was coming for me, I was in my early 40s at that point, how embarrassing is that? The worst thing is, generally, nothing scares me, it takes a lot to scare me, and because I work in trauma healthcare, I’ve seen things you couldn’t imagine in your worst nightmares, but because they’re real people, and it’s not CGI, I can deal with it, because I’m there to help them. But when it’s on the big screen, you know that anything could happen at any time, and no matter how well you prepare yourself, you still jump, you still scream. I guess I’m just a sucker for punishment! And just to be queen bitch of the universe, I made the mistake of telling my evil sister that I finally saw all those movies, so what does she do? She buys a Michael mask, put on a clowns costume, brandishing a butcher knife, and she knocked on my door at 2 o’clock in the morning, and then laughed her ass off as I fell to the floor screaming. I could’ve killed her, as she stood there laughing her head off. But I know what scares her, and I got my revenge, she’s terrified of any movie that deals with demonic entities, so I had a friend of mine, who is a professional make up artist for TV, do the make up to make me look exactly like Reagan from the exorcist, but I didn’t knock on her door at 2 o’clock in the morning, I snuck into her house at 2 o’clock in the morning when she was in bed (I knew where she kept the spare key under the rock in her garden), stood at the doorway of her bedroom, growling in a low voice, the make up we used was glow in the dark, I’ve never heard anyone scream that loud in my life (next to me!lol!) I was on the floor in seconds laughing my ass off, but her? Let’s just say thank God she had a big bottle of Ativan, she needed it! We are a strange little family, but revenge is sweet, and as Khan says in Star Trek, revenge is a dish that is best served cold!😈😈😈😈😈

I have a special affection for this trailer in particular I saw it once in an advertisement for a CZcams video and at the time it scared me a lot since I didn't know anything about this saga I didn't even know That there was a saga called Halloween, I thought it was a horror movie, so the movie caught my attention, so I investigated, I investigated, and there I discovered that there were many other Movies of this character and at the same time from there I investigated more about this world and I got to know other slasher sagas better like Friday the 13th ect and now I know by heart all the Halloween movies and other franchises I became a fan and all thanks to this trailer.
Hard to believe it’s been 5 years.
The trilogy was a very mixed bag overall, but this one mostly delivered.
Yeah definitely, this was the best one beside Kills.. Ends was really sad… But the ending was perfect but also a bit short

This is probably my favorite movie in the franchise aside from Halloween kills and 1978 Halloween because I love the paranoia they give Laurie because it makes you feel like Laurie is some like survivalist I mean she is but like it feels like she’s this cool action movie character in a horror movie

Only thing I think should have happened different is they should have kept Halloween 2 and had Halloween 2018 pick up after that part instead of leaving it out of the timeline but still a great follow up!!
