As soon as our government promises grants/ subsidies / handouts… many people vote for them… here in Australia.

Same in Canada. The socialist movement in the West is doomed to end the way it did in Eastern Europe.

It's been trapped in cognitive dissonance ever since the gargantuan deception that occurred in 2001.

They always are, regardless of the supposed socio-economic-political system.

Rock bottom will be when everything shuts down, all the stores close, government no longer has money to operate, and the gang violence spreads throughout the city 24/7. Dave is right - you do not want to be there for rock bottom. I moved out of CA and temporarily back to TN in 2022. A few weeks before my actual move, I rented an 8 ft UHaul trailer to pull behind my pickup truck I was taking back. According to UHaul, I got the only 8 ft trailer available in San Diego. (and it looked like it) When I turned it in in TN the guy checking me in saw what I had paid and he said it was double anything he had ever seen. When I rented a 24 ft truck for the final move from CA to TN, out of curiosity I compared rental rates from CA to TN and from TN to CA. My CA to TN move was over three times as expensive. I talked to a couple of moving companies and they said their starting price was $20 grand for a small move and then went up from there. We moved what we could fit in the truck and donated everything else to charity and took the money we saved to buy new.

@@abcun17 That's my opinion. I lived in San Diego for 20+ years and it steadily went downhill each year but if you talk to born and bred Californians they didn't see anything wrong. Their electricity is 3+ times as expensive as most of the country, their taxes are higher than most of the country, their fees for government services are some of the highest in the country, and every year they slowly chip away at your freedoms. To this day you cannot carry on an intelligent conversation about it with most of the born and bred and most of the legal immigrants come from Socialist cultures so they don't understand what you are complaining about. Add to this that most counties, cities, and the state are technially bankrupt due to unfunded liabilities, mostly for government workers pensions and promised benefits and I simply don't see a way out of it till it all blows up. Since the Federal government is bankrupt as well there will be no Federal bailout which is what California Democrats are planning on.

The problem is that there is major party and media consensus and coordination on these issues. You have to dig deep into the fringe to even address these issues.

Is Australia getting hit with the anti-cattle movement like the US? It's starting a range war on federal lands in the West with reductions of grazing leases.

The sooner America shutdown its dollar printing machine the better for America and rest of the world in the long run, with some pain in short term. Without producing enough consumption goods it resorts to borrowing and printing dollars major part of which America uses to finance its killing/war machine home and abroad. Both isles of American politics and by extension citizenry have become addicted to this inorganic drug. Major economies led by China and Russia, but diluted by india to some extent, infact are helping America indirectly and rest of the world directly by lessening reliance on USD based trades and transactions. Hope they succeed and America realises ASAP.😊
