    Most excellent teaching!! I just got my SNKL23J1 and was so excited to get it sized and to be wearing it AT the right size immediately!! And I owe it all to you, sir!! Thank you!!! SIDE NOTE: man you gotta keep your eye on that spring bar.....mine "popped off" and went flying!!! I just spent 20 minutes searching around my desk until, thankfully, I found it behind my desk chair, snuggled into the carpet like a little worm.....sneaky bugger!! For that spring bar to end up where it did it had to have FLOWN 3-4 feet over my head!! So FYI, handle those spring bars with care!!

      You're 100% right on that spring bar pin. I heard a faint pop, something bouced off my glasses and thought it was all over. I prayed the good Lord would help me find it and He did within seconds ( on the table I was working not on the floor).

      I used a jewers screwdriver to resize my bracelet thirty years ago. These u-shaped pins can be popped out with just a toothpick or one of those pins that are in your new shirts that always stab you. You just need something skinny to pop the pin out.

  • @justgbali4293

    Why does yours slide off so easily
    I’ve applied all the force I could but it still won’t come off

  • @johnwang9914
    @johnwang9914 Před 7 dny

    The Seiko 5 would cost no more than $300, often less than $150 and even as low as $50 in some countries while the Seiko Presage is probably over $1,000, probably over $1,300/$1,500.
    Now if you look for a get of assorted link pins, you'll never find one with thouse U-shaped links that the Seiko bracelet has which is really frustrating. They usually seem to last forever but they do wear down and especially if the jeweller likes popping a link pin out to open the bracelet for work instead of compressing the spring bar in the lug which might require a special tool to reach, you might end up with a loose pin that might fall out and be easily lost. Now, I did just have an overhaul done after 30 years and the link pin did fall out a few months after the overhaul, fortunately I had inadvertently found the pin on the garage fllor and set it aside till I figured out where it was from so I did not loose it but it is a bit worn and fits loosely in the bracelet so I've been looking for a link pin set that includes u-shaped pins and I haven't found one.
    Keep the links and pins that you remove when you buy a watch, especially if the pins are U shaped or L shaped as they are just very hard to impossible to find. Replacement bracelets are probably easier to purchase than replacement pins. Mind you, the watch case, manual, and removed links and pins were probable lost decades ago though I probably did try to save them (I think the department store that I bought my Seiko 5 from, actually packed it in a box and manual for a different Seiko such as the Seiko Presage as much of the usage instructions were just wrong).

  • @flip7081
    @flip7081 Před 2 lety

    Ok. I've watched multiple videos on this, and they all do about the same thing, and it always looks difficult. Just use a screwdriver that fits it the hole. DUH! Thank you for offering us common sense. Cheers.

  • @george-florinconstantin4141

    This looks like a decently put together Seiko bracelet, going against their long tradition of fitting crappy bracelets on good watches. I sometimes look at Seiko 5s and the difference in fit and finish between the body of the watch and the bracelet is upsettingly visible.
