Sucks everyone's only talking about the costume shit. The gameplay is fantastic and the visuals are wonderful.
Cant believe journos complained about a full, complete, microtransactions free game with fun level design, exploration, gameplay and a real woman. Yet they dont bat an eye at price gouged bikini or other revealing skins sold as MTXs. People are so damn sensitive about this specific game its wild.
It's not about the game, it's about their agenda. Journos aren't here for the games at all.
And for THAT exact reason, that is why I am choosing to buy this game. To support the devs and give a middle finger to everyone that hates on it. Stellar Blade is MY GameStop. Fuck em
it's because straight males got excited for it, that's the only reason. If "their side" had been originally hype for it, then they would've called it empowering.
I swear watching nerds attach their personality to a product is wild. A review is subjective and if you actually played the game, you would see all the flaws. Open world is awful, dialogue is awful, side missions are most awful.
This game gets combat right and other aspects.
“REAL WOMEN” like people don’t have windows or go outside to get a reference. Just say you’re horny and could never hope to meet a woman like the one in the game in real life.
Actually, makes a lot of sense now.

I'm surprised to see Asmongold actually playing video games he talked about.
I recommend turning off auto-lock on when attacking in the settings. It makes fighting multiple enemies a hassle. (You will still be able to manually lock-on as u please)
What does the auto lock on do? Is it a soft lock that targets an enemy with attacks even when not locked on?
@tehCostHD it auto locks on the first enemy you attempt to attack.
Auto lock makes you lock on to enemies in the back line, so you end up walking past the ones that are at the front and hitting you. Can get a bit annoying and finicky. As you have to cycle through targets with the right stick.
Nah, parrying, blocking, repulse, and blink all rely heavily on actually facing the enemy. It's easier to just lock off when facing multiple enemies than having to remember to lock on at the start of each fight.

Yeah, that surprise qte at the end of the boss fight almost got me, too. I immediately set the controller down as soon as I beat the boss and had to quickly grab it, again, lol

I thought the gear was all cosmetic, but I found out some have secrets (there are some for combat, defense, stealth, swimming, and get the running boost faster)

Honestly, Shift Up is showing a lot of skill. Even in Nikke every other month they make some small but good game available. Also this game reminds me of Darksiders gameplay more than Nier or Dark Souls.
To be fair, he has been misled by the internet where he thought he shouldn't parry for some reason. In a game focused heavily on parrying.
As awful as the gameplay in the first video was, I really respect that Asmon is honest about how he can't process new info while streaming. You can't really get irritated at him when works through his head space like that.
He re ally needs to play every new game for a few hours off stream and then start a new game for streaming purposes that would fix this problem likely.

@@insaiyan9952 I’m assuming the “censored” version although I really hate that word because this really doesn’t fit the definition of censorship. We still don’t know WHY the outfits were changed, while some outfits that show more than them were not. That’s why I don’t believe it has anything to do with censorship but we really don’t know

I don't think the changes are censorship at all.
Those outfits that got changed stay pretty much the same.
Less blood on EVE just means she stays beautiful more consistently.
If Sony forced Shift Up to censore something, they would have done something way more obvious & significant.
"Censorship" at the current level makes no sense that I think it's just design choices.
The Hard R change? It's just a small text that can be replaced with no effort to avoid being called racist.
Everyone would do the same unless you utterly want to provoke a certain group of people.

Just a reminder that Stellar blade was created by Shift Up, the same developers who made Nikke, and it now has a 1,5 anniversary so I would recommend trying it out now. You can't rate a game without even playing it after all, right? 😉

Depends on what you call better. Dark souls is less about combat depth with tons of options, and more about a limited moveset where every action and button press matters. This game combines that mindset, with the parries, but also throws in combos and more special attacks. So it’s basically sekiro combat with a little bit more action game flair put in. It really is fun so far

They are different games. Dark souls level design, voice acting and lore makes this look like a children’s book.

I saw your video on the Stellar Blade censorship. I really appreciate your level of patience with the people who set the bar so low that they don't critically think about the question "who cares?" When asked.
One thing that I wish you spoke about a bit more, was that the censorship is FORCED. Even for physical disc buyers.
(I have to consistently keep my ps5 in offline mode in order to play the original game.)
When I was online I had not realized the effects of the patch. Then I reinstalled the game without internet. I played for a good 1 hour. After I turned the data back on, Sony then kept me from launching the game unless I updated it. I then reinstalled the game again and have kept kept my ps5 offline since.
I believe offering the option to sensitize your purchased media is fine. But it's completely malicious to have Sony allow the game to be marketed as it was for the entirety of its development. Only to pull the carpet out from under us after purchasing the game and forcefully make us play they game the developers never actually intended.
It's something that should really be acknowledged before it's becomes the norm. Companies like Ubisoft are being boycotted because of their theft of digital merchandise and belief consumers shouldn't own what they spend their money on.
But what about Sony and other heavy handed cooperations? I'd imagine you'd have an obvious take but do you believe the people will prevail or that the generations after us will be conditioned to just ask, "who cares?" And simply bend over.
To me, it's about the fact Sony (and other companies) want us to believe, we don't have a choice. Even though we are the blood that keeps them alive.
I almost forgot to mention, of course. The reason they push this selective censorship which has an agenda of the insane.

I scan every 5 seconds so nothing ambushes me. Been caught to many times with low health
The thing the game doesnt explain properly, which is one of the big reasons he had a hard time last stream, is that the different combos dont just have "special animations" they also do a LOT more damage when executed compared to just say spamming lights. If you dont do comboes or fail to execute them, it's like punching the enemies to death with your bare fists. On some enemies it feels like a 10x difference in damage. I guess they basically emulated "novice swinging sword aimlessly" vs "master actually swinging with purpose". Sadly early game doesnt teach you any of this.

When it hits purple you need to dodge backwards which means back + O
Colour to watch out for:
Yellow : unblockable, can only dodge and can be interrupted by certain skills
Blue : forward + O when the sword highlights blue (blinks behind enemy)
Purple : backwards + O when the sword highlights purple ( stuns enemy and creates a distance exposing enemies weakness and making range weapons hit harder to the exposed core)
Red: about to go into a flurry of combos (block + perfect parry is recommended)

The game gets much better as it evolves. I thought the same thing in the beginning. This was gonna be like a sh*t hodgepodge of gaming mechanics. After I played it, I couldn’t stop coming back to it…

It would be nice if you could turn off yellow paint and the robot tips in the menu why don’t all games have an option to turn yellow paint off? Who’s going round leaving yellow everywhere it breaks immersion it feels out of place in this.
There's a lore reason in this game actually apparently it's members of the legion that leave the yellow paint to mark areas climbable for other ppl and scavengers.

to be fair the yellow paint is sometimes very hard to see(its not a very bright yellow.. more very pale). especially in the city. i oversaw ALOT of the climbable ledges.

The fishing mechanic kinda sucks. As a fishing minigame enthusiast, this really hurts me. They could fix it by stopping the timer once the fish is exhausted and you're reeling it in. It makes absolutely no sense that the line snaps when the timer runs out at that point and its infuriating when that happens.
