    United doesnt have a starting left back! Their star center backs have not played together all season. Their bench is full of kids. When Arsenal had injury issues on their back line pundits were breaking their arms to make excuses for Arteta. The Ten Hag movement has largely been fueled by the press. I hope Ineos are not stupid enough to fall for the hype.

      @Lagrange90 Před 2 měsíci +1

      okay but they had Reguilon and gave him away ...
      And for Arteta: I really don`t get the comparisons. When you appoint Arteta (as Arsenal owner) you know its his first managerial job and you have to give him time for this reason. You don`t expect a massive drop off in season 2 by Ten Hag.
      Besides Kiwior is playing and he is Arsenals 4th left back (Timber,Zinchenko, Tomiyasi in any order)

    Believe me, Pep can't ask Maguire, Evans and Lindelof to play a high defensive line and cover the spaces in behind.
    Klopp can't ask Martial, Rashford, 32 yr old Casemiro, Maguire, Evans and others to gegenpress. He can't.
    You can't play "ideal" football with non-ideal players.
    Uk what, I actually praise ETH to play this way (even though I hate it) because playing this "ideal" way would be suicide with these players.
    (Yes, Antony was a flop signing by him but not others)
    If you think Tuchel and De Zerbi can come in and "revolutionize" these same players, Good luck.
    If he was playing this style with all the players available, I would myself question it

      Loool I don't know what team you've been watching but there isn't a big difference in style of play when every one is fit. Players came back this season and yes they won 5 games in a row but they were absolutely dominated in every single one of those matches. Even when they won the Caraboa cup, Newcastle absolutely dog walked them but didn't score. You can't ride your luck every single game.

    Just a minute...a part of being a good manager is understanding the phyche of their players and their dressing room. If TH had come out and said "this is not good enough" or "that's rubbish" do we really think this group of players would strap up their laces and get to work? I think not...this set of MU players would probably jump in their yachts and their private planes and go somewhere they feel loved and coddled all the time...baring in mind they still have another 8/9 games left in the league, plus FA Cup. He has to be able to motivate them to get on the field and play for another 3 months...he won't get that if he starts being "straight forward" in the media...

    spurs and leverkusen are great examples as to how managers can make crucial differences. but their squads contained hardworking athletic players who adjusted to a higher intensity style of play that enabled their success to overcome any possible technical shortcomings they may have had. manchester united's squad is packed with unathletic players. just look at their spine: maguire evans varane lindelof casemiro eriksen mainoo bruno mctominay aren't going to outwork most pl clubs' midfield/centreback tandems. i think you can properly assess tenhag only after you give him a decent squad and he fails with it.

    Here's the problem with the United squad. . it's the United way of playing.. no one really knows what it is bc it's not something that ever really been put down on paper. If you listen to countless interview from player under SAF, they say it was never about tactics with SAF, he had driven players who were very high IQ players who could create chemistry within themselves bc they understood the United way was to win, so you figure out a way to win. But you saw many good players who failed at United bc they either didn't fit in chemistry wise or while good players didn't have that IQ to create chemistry without having it coached. You have players who have been trained to think independently, think forward thinking, and a good work ethic but nothing about how to play a tactical side of the game. You have players now who's mindset isn't to play actually but to play more individually. ETH doesn't have team oriented players like he had at Ajax, the difference in their mindsets are huge. Look at garnacho, good player but his decision making in the final third would probably have him benched at Ajax bc he constantly passes up the easy pass to a teammate to try and shoot same with rashy. Sancho couldn't succeed at United bc other than Erikson and Bruno no one else wanted to take responsibility and pass the ball between them more than once before they dribbled and none of the forwards at that time were trying to pass and move. Look at antony rashy and garnacho, you pass to them they stop the ball and slow down the pace of the game. Garnacho only one really taking on defenders but he is guilty of dribbling then stopping and trying to shoot too much. It will take 7 players in the next 2 windows to make united competitive again. It'll take 3yrs for them to get their squad rotation and I'm talking about you have prime player in a position, you have someone pushing to take that spot and you have a youngster coming through the ranks rotation. Whoever is making the decisions needs to get bold not with just the squad but with the money and the fans and say a squad reset may have us in 6,7,8th spot but it'll be a quick turn around bc we will be assembling a squad to fit united new way of thinking which is to create an actually visible, sustainable identity to our playing style.

    It's truly stupid.they want unproven managers to replace a manager who already proved he can be in the top 3 last seasons.
    That's how you recognize nonsense
    Instead of asking to back with transfers the manager who got 3rd place last sesson let's just throw evrything away and start from the beginning on managers who we don't even know if they can do it
