Queen is one of the biggest British rock bands formed in 1970. Freddie Mercury had one of the best voices around with an amazing range. He was a real showman as the live concerts show. "Bohemian Rhapsody" is their most famous song but they had so many great hits in the 70's-90's such as "We Will Rock You", "We Are The Champions", "Crazy Little Thing Called Love", "Love Of My Life", "You're My Best Friend", "Who Wants to Live Forever", "Somebody To Love", "Fat Bottomed Girls", "The Show Must Go On" etc.
John Deacon wrote this one. It wasn't planned to be released as a single but friend and fan Michael Jackson convinced them it would be a hit. It was and stayed at #1 on Billboard's Hot 100 for three weeks. Since you're also checking out Elvis, you might enjoy watching Queen perform "Jailhouse Rock". Rock Montreal 1981 or 1975 at the Odeon Hammersmith. Thanks!
John Deacon was an excellent bass player, it’s a great loss that he retired in 97. He was the secret weapon of the band, he didn’t write many songs, but they are all great. Freddie really enjoyed to sing this number and he wanted to match John's imagination so much that he sang until his vocal cords started to bleed during the recording process. Pls, check out Dragon Attack at Montreal 81.
You really need to see this LIVE, too... As with most things Queen & Freddie, the live performances are SO. MUCH. BETTER than the studio recordings. THE BEST LIVE VERSION: MONTREAL in 1981
