On one hand this is an ad for Lucid. On the other hand the engineers behind it are cool car people so nothing wrong with supporting the homies and helping pay the shreditors energy drink bill so they can keep cooking. Throw in that it was actually a good race and this is one of the better TvT episodes lol

That's because it weighs almost 6000 lbs. Weight means you don't need as sticky of a tire for straight line traction.

I think it's because it's a lardass ,weight helps with traction, tt kept getting faster as lucid kept getting slower , plus tt had 200 less hp ,good race though

@S63jah from what I've researched, the 911 Turbo S gets less range on a full tank of gas than a Lucid Sapphire gets fully charged. Plus, the Lucid is much faster (in a straight line). It's kinda hard to find range info on a Porsche so I'm waiting for someone else to chime in.

That was actually a good matchup with the ballast added. Audi driver did a good job. I love those Audi builds. Def gonna do my own build with an RS3 sometime soon.
Audis are the best bang for buck if you're building off the 2.5 inline 5. That engine is so capable of real power without any forged internals

@TheRealSykx exactly,that's how the whole argument of "built and bought" between modded engines got started. Every one calling thier shit built but all only did turn some screws while others did customization machining work.
So yeah it's still a "built" cus it isn't stock but literally just a bolt on build. Which any car enthusiasts could do in their garage.

Big props to the Audi. I thought this was going to be another cakewalk for the electric car. Like Micah said, it's crazy that a production car (of that style and weight) is accomplishing those types of drag racing performances.
But it was a cake walk for the lucid😂 did you not see the amount of extra weight they needed to make the race comparable??
@@watchmework3688 Ballast boys or not, a lot of times the electric cars still win. After the first race, I thought the Lucid would win 2 or 3 times today. They said the Audi was getting faster, but I'd sooner think the Lucid was losing power as the charge drops. Definite downside to any electric car if you can only do a few runs before you're out of power.
Still showing the inevitable future though. Soon enough internal combustion vs electric will be like a prop-plane vs a jet engine. I'm just glad combustion put up a good fight. Audi's usually perform pretty well on This vs That, almost any model.

I love my Tesla Model S Plaid but Lucid Air Sapphire but if i could own any sedan in the world it would be the Lucid Air Sapphire for sure! It took putting 4 people in car for the TT RS to win. Impressive
I used to drive a stock TT-RS of the same generation (in Europe). Not fond of the color - but great sound, great fun, loved it. I still have my Audi Cabrio 5-cylinder, such an iconic engine.

The air isn't just fast acceleration, it also pulls on the high end too and keeps going, alot of evs don't do that. This thing is built for just continuing to go.

Thanks thomas from Emd auto and Darin for tuning. Once in a lifetime experience and glad I was able to showcase my TTRS and all those who have helped with the build. Had us racing like we were EV. 4 laps no cool down whatsoever, so yea these cars were pretty evenly matched. Whoever gets out first, will win. Now we up the boost 😉

With all the mods and upgrades it would be $80K at most. It would probably beat a GT3 RS in a track race too, the Audi is lighter and faster. Honestly the TT RS has always been the best bang for your buck

What’s impressive to me is that a built 2.5L 5 cylinder turbo sports coupe (that has more potential) is keeping up with a 1200+ crank hp awd ev, even though it was full of people its impressive that it could give the instantaneous torque a run for its money.

Bro exactly why I got this exact car 18’ mk3 TTRS stage 3 on E these days. Just added fuel system and plus intercooler to make stage 3 bc it stage 2 for a long time. Anyways these things are crazy fast for not a lot of difficult modding. This guy just said 1000hp on a stock transmission it’s just the billet block clutch package. Outside of that factory a GTR nor G80 could never do this and hold up. I’m don’t care to have 1000hp I love this car at exactly where it’s at and it looks stock! This i5 platform is sick iRoz has a build this just hit 7.9 in 1/4 I think not much done to the transmission on that as well which again is nuts!!!! I’ll add my car now feels like a legit race car the pulls now are I’d imagine feel supercar like and no where near the supercar price but the looks it gets feels like a poor man’s supercar! Especially when I pull up at Kroger and my little 4 year old jumps out lol!! One guy was like “that thing has a backseat can’t be an R8 what is it?” It was at that moment I knew I picked the right car this thing just cost me under $60k originally owned by a VP in Alexandria, VA! It was bone stock when I had and it’s been mine ever since 2020😊!! I almost pulled the trigger on a C8 that cost almost $40k more 😅 so glad I didn’t do that SO GLAD!!!

You know what else has 2.5L 5 cylinder turbo that people sleep on Volvos!!!! Volvo s60R 2.5L Inline 5 turbo! Doing from 2.3L, 2.4L, and 2.5L blocks all in Volvos! Mannn Audi and Volvo been pushing those 5 cylinders! They make power!
I have two Volvo s60Rs both getting different mods :) ones an 05 ones an 07. Super reliable sleepers! AWD too!
