@@adampetten1009 mine is probably one of the most mild modified 335D possible, they do upgraded hybrid turbos with an r90 and can make way more power and torque, eventually. I might do that to mine but like I said this is my daily driver that I enjoy, I'm almost finished with my Mk4 Supra which will be for power haha

All good things must come to an end, I just hope the new team can make their own splash. Vin did say that everyone at hoonigan are still die hard automotive enthusiasts, so while it may be different I wish the best for future hoonigan

I for one will continue to watch Hoonigan until the very end; which in my opinion is no where near. There will be a transition phase I’m sure, but we can only hope the new management will listen to these comments and rejuvenate the grass roots content that made us all love Hoonigan in the beginning.
Don't hold your breath. When personality based brands like Hoonigan get bought out by corporations, especially when the core personalities jump ship, we are going to get analytics driven content. Do you find it funny that we haven't seen a daily transmission and awesome burnout at the shop in.... forever? It's not ad sponsored content, and that doesn't pay the bills.

I picked up an E61 535d over here in Germany last year. The twin-turbo diesel engine is a unit, currently makes 395 hp and about 700 lb-ft with the tune and a DPF delete. It’s an absolute blast and has no problem clearing traffic 😁

What's the channel called?
It seems like the diesel in normal cars in the US is very exotic. The M57 engine is very popular swap in the offroad community in Europe.
Most people in the US think diesels are only good for trucks haha but definitely a platform that should be used more often in my opinion
They just started to bring it to the US, older Mercedes and VW have been but other then that just the trucks

I was in LA 3 months ago, saw an old 300 merc diesel and an e70 x5 diesel, there are a few, but yes, they are rare.

Get Sandjer Performance his BMW 335D out here, that makes 950hp on a stock internals 3.0 diesel and a stock 6HP transmission.
Yep, his is insane with the triple turbo setup, very capable cars! I think he went to an 8-speed if I recall correctly

I owned a 335d with all those same mods for 5 years; such an under rated sleeper. Went undefeated in Mexico 7:) against ATS, Camaro, Challenger, Mustangs 5.0's etc. All that and great fuel economy! literally no down side except potential maintenance. I had a 535d now with similiar mods. Tiny bit down and power and WAY more weight but it launches just as hard with the X-Drive and 8spd!
I love races where the cars are so different but still evenly matched🙌

no it doesn't. Horsepower is what's important
At the end it is the wheel torque that is different too. Of course the Diesel has longer gears reducing the wheel torque.

@@sphinxore4499 considering I have a couple built diesels I think I know more about torque and how it works. But like I said. horsepower is what actually matters. That's why the fastest cars in the world focus on HP not torque
@@aleks138 Well then you would agree that torque is what gets you moving to the 8th and HP matters to the 1/4. Both are important but without good torque numbers you're missing a big part of the run

Happy to say I have an RHD e46 wagon with the same 3.0 diesel (m57) as the 335d although the older iron block single turbo and hopefully next year it’s going to be a drift build!

In the 2nd race, they should have given the BMW the hit 100%. He lost the 1st race so it was his call to dictate the proposed terms. I think giving him JUST the hit (no Gary) would have been a great race.
Ikr, seemed odd - so often for second rounds the loser gets a more than fair nod so the winner really has to pull something new out to win, in this one the loser is like "that was as good as I could do" and the winner was like "I can do better" - so they decide to push for heads up. An American 700whp S/C V8 beats a German 380whp diesel by a hood... so impressive...
Horsepower is a function of torque and RPM. Diesels don’t turn very many RPM but make a ton of torque, so horsepower isn’t really a great measure of output for a diesel vehicle. Very close race, but the numbers aren’t everything this scenario. BMW guy says he’s making about 600 torques, which is likely close to what the CTSV is making with 700 horsepower in a car with much less weight

I've got a 11 335d that has basically the same mods as this one with no meth. I can get high 30s for mpg on the highway and run mid 12's in the quarter. These cars rock.

as someone that dailies a tuned 635d me self (pretty much same power as the 335d in vid), can definitely confirm that M57 doesnt fuck around.

Needs tires and wheels for drag. The big wheels and low profile tires look cool. But, aren’t nearly as good for putting power down.
It’d probably actually be faster with less power on those tires.

@Wickit96 I am a researcher from Ukraine. We work a lot with low temp boilinf fuels that normally stay in gaseous form under atmospheric pressure and +20Celsius (68F) . A good solution for a diesel engine is to add DME - dimethyl ether - into intake. It has a cetane 60 , high mixing properties and fast laminar flame propagation. In a result you will get a cleaner combustion that means more efficient.
