Opposite ends of the “modified” spectrum, here. Repping @kaijumotorsports504 from fabulous Las Vegas is Brian and their flagship WRX STI, and you can tell no expense was spared to make this monster: hood and fenders by Varis, drag beadlocks, huge turbocharger, titanium fabrication… this build is FRESH. Rafa’s F-150, meanwhile, only has a few bolt-on mods. Sure those mods are two turbos, custom aluminum double beadlock wheels on slick Mickeys and a boost controller, but it’s otherwise stock. Which one's the build to beat?

After watching nearly all the TvTs, the only worse tree man than Brad was some of Gary's early attempts. Gotta hold your hands up for a second before dropping them. Watch an actual pro drag tree and turbo cars that have to build boost. They pre-stage, get revs up, stage 1, hit the 2-step, stage 2, then the yellows (hands up), then greens (hands drop). You're not pretending to be a bird flapping your wings.

Ahhh man I'm glad you said it. I watched the ram vs mclaren one and noone mentioned what a mess he made of the start. Like a crack head doing the drop

I love the fact that the Subaru still had a full exhaust didn’t sacrifice a good sounding setup but doing a hood or fender exit
Love to see it. I absolutely hate the good exit exhaust thing that everyone seems to have going on
I have the best of both worlds: full 3" exhaust with mufflers, and a boost activated fender dump. Under most driving conditions it's closed (it takes enough boost to spin the tires before the valve opens..)
@@Mastermindyoung14 How does that work? is it like a divergent pipe going through the hood and the main pipe going under the car ? Kind of like a y-pipe out of the turbo exhaust housing ?

One thing that wasn’t mentioned I think should be, these coyotes use their stock computer and have taken stock computer into the 6’s, the biggest benefit of the coyote is how many stock parts can be utilized in very basic builds to make damn good power.

That STI is nice. Would love to see josh bader on her. He races his car regularly so this would be right up his alley plus he really helped build the roadmap to a 1200 whp STI basically.

Before even watching, I'll say the number of _legit_ 1000+ hp EJ25 cars out there is extremely small. If this car runs like it has 1000+ hp kudos to the builder.
Yeah, that car isn't making 1150 hp. I'll give the shop the benefit of the doubt. They just said it had an IAG1150 block. Not that it made that power. If it's making 800 whp I'd be surprised. Still great for an EJ though.

Definitely said it was Dyno’d at 1150 lol. EJ’s are not the way to make big power but there are definitely an ok amount that make 1000+.
@@BoostedBrando I thought so too, but I just rewatched the build overview again and all he said was IAG1150 and Garrett G42-1200 turbo. Maybe he said it somewhere else. It definitely isn't making 1150 hp though, I've gotta agree with that.

I love hoonigan, I love this vs that, ive been a fan for YEARS. Ken Block is an inspiration and i cant wait the see lil block come up and do her thing in racing. However recently it just doesnt feel like hoonigan. No more builds, its basically only T v T, and it just feels really corporate now.

Give the Suburu some time for them to actually iron it out and itll slay im sure. Giving yourself days after first tuning a new build thats 100% not stock to running drag races is rough lol. Usually takes a lot longer to get it dialed even just for prepped.

@@vaaro_m Obviously there is a ton of “supporting” work otherwise, but having built quite a few over the past 10-12 years the formula for a long lasting high Hp car has changed immensely. IAG crate engines, IAG transmissions, Radium Engineering, Full Race, E85 etc. The days of holding your breath every time a 800awhp+ STI makes a pull is largely over.
Id take a Subaru to that shop that car is choice and love the Cusco stuff they have been around for years their products are usually great
