Hi, I am your host Siddhartha! I have been an entrepreneur from 2012-2017 building two products AddoDoc and Babygogo. After selling my company to SHEROES, I and my partner Nansi decided to start up again. But we felt unequipped in our skillset in 2018 to build a large company. We had known 0-1 journey from our startups but lacked the experience of building 1-10 journeys.
Hence was born The Neon Show (Earlier 100x Entrepreneur) to learn from founders and investors, the mindset to scale yourself and your company. This quest still keeps us excited even after 5 years and doing 200+ episodes.
We welcome you to our journey to understand what goes behind building a super successful company. Every episode is done with a very selfish motive, that I and Nansi should come out as a better entrepreneur and professional after absorbing the learnings.

17:00 You got Sanjeev Sanyal's statement about UPSC wrong. He said multiple attempts to crack UPSC is wrong and not the whole UPSC. Had you gotten this correct Amitabh Kant's response would have been different

  • @arvinddhupkar5158
    @arvinddhupkar5158 Před 18 dny +5

It is surprising that you got Sanjeev Sanyal wrong. He made a nuanced point. Which is that considering an abysmally low success percentage, spending a significant part of youth on repeated attempts is a bad idea. It deprives the person of pursuing other talents or attempting startups where if successful, they would have created many more jobs and employment opportunities.
I heard some succesful startup founders attributing their success to not falling in the trap of wating their precious part of life on UPSC attempts.

Misquoting Sanjeev Sanyal for a provocative effect! He only said so many youngsters spending several years trying multiple times to clear UPSC is a waste of their most productive years, move on if they dont clear within a few chances. He said the peer group of the youngsters limits their vision and they need to have more diverse role models not just IAS/IPS.

His advice to youth involves starting a company and contributing to the economy and NOT preparing for govt exams. But in the podcast he said he doesn't agree with Sanjeev sir just because his ego of being a govt employee came in between. Sanjeev sir was right about upsc. It's ruining India like no other but I bet in the next few years this will come to an end because this government is focused on the private sector contributing to the economy more than the government sector.

Entrepreneurship, Good Doctor, good Engineer , Good lawyer and Good everything our country needs and he mentioned that only.....i mean its high time people must not fall in the propaganda of Coaching Centers and must realise their true set of skills and potential so that they can work accordingly for their Mathrubhumi 🇮🇳...✌️

I agree with Sanjeev Sanyal on UPSC destroying young lives. To get 600-900 officers lakhs of youth's most productive years are taken away, which is a huge loss of nation's economy. Ever heard Steve jobs or Zuckerberg preparing for UPSC equivalent in US?
Also poverty of aspirations is a real thing. We need to be a consuming economy, which prefers higher quality goods and services. This is what creates jobs, not government.
Jobs are created by spending, not saving money. Of course if your salary is low you need to save. But India needs more and more people with disposable income to drive goods and services demand and hence the possibility of creating hundreds of reliance or fortune 500 level companies. And disposable income can only be created by businesses selling higher margin goods and services. If companies keep selling bad quality cheap products, only the company owner and few people get good money. But if your company sells high quality products with great margins than your lower level employees also earn good amounts and get disposable income.

India is still the biggest consumer country of the world .
I can’t even think of single Indian Product that standouts in the entire world .
We r extremely behind in Infrastructure and Amitabh Sir is right on consistent growth for 3 decades atleast.
Journey isn’t straight forward as China is world power already with 10+ cities like 10x times NewYork .
We have also failed until now to create big International brands as yet
Including clothing, automobile, IT product , Electronics.
One tap Digital payments is already scaled in US with Apply Pay and NFC technology.
We need entrepreneur mindset and job creators vs job takers..
Millions of Indians r still being exploited by typical middle class for low wages for household chores.
We need a lot to do sadly.

I think that India had a perfect opportunity to build well planned villages through the housing and toilet scheme. By just providing money people have built without any plan and no proper drainage system..
So many people have built 2nd toilets when they already had one. The approach should have been to survey each village, field research then proper infrastructure built in villages, roads, electricity, internet connections, schools, hospitals etc .
That would have given villages much pride and houses could have been built properly.. all in line not scattered here and there.

The Indian companies be in private like Tata, Mahindra in auto sector or those in government must go up faster in scaling up their production capacity to world class level. Our technological institutional giants such as IITs have hardly produced entrepreneurs and innovators of cutting edge new technologies as much as it would have done. Still for entrance in these institutes’ admission, there is no weightage for the aptitude test in admission, so their preferences after graduation is for further education in management and that too in foreign universities or going for civil services…….It must change. Curricula at IITs must b looked into and teachers must move faster if they have gone outdated.

Probably the achor is very diplomatic and not thrashing questions. Let us understand the developments in the last 10 years and compare with other nations. Roads railways houses bla bl;a bla are all equally developing in other nations aswell like indonesia for example put 6 bullet trains apart from good roads etc. and made no noise. The exceptional performance is on digitalisation and specifically the 9 years equivalant to 50 yrs refers to this. This is possible as India has worlds largest Class I IT hubs at hyderabad and Bangalore and Rajive Gandhi modernisation of software development ans production of computers and super computers etc. Had other countries have this type of network probably they also be in par with us.
Mr. Amitabh Kant is a very innovative and persistance and want to excel in any area given to him. VersAtile and appreciates the need for a persdon to be in his authority or position for min 10 years. The economy adviser had different mindset and abolished EPU . It is the biggest drawback & for decelerating GDP growth.

    vote for development
Just imagine. What would a Congress manifesto look like in 2029 if Rahul Gandhi and company lose the General Election in 2024?
Their top five promises would be:
    1. Every woman in the country will receive three lakh rupees per year, equivalent to 25,000 rupees per month.
Currently, Congress promised 1 lakh per annum.
    2. The minimum wage would be set at 800 rupees per day.
Currently, they have promised 400 rupees per day.
    3. The reservation limit would be raised to 75 percent.
Currently, they promised to raise it to 50 percent.
    4. No one will need to pay electricity bills anymore.
They are going to announce 200 units free very soon.
    5. No one will need to pay any transportation fare.
They will announce it for women following the Kejriwal model.
Congress has been playing this dirty game for a long time through caste system (divide and rule amongst hindus), greed like freebies.

I think he's not being completely honest when he says our highways and airports are better than Europe. For a country of 1.4 billion people, we should not be competing with Europe but rather China. Europe's highways and airports were built in last century so of course they are not going to be new and shiny. Also, take a look at how much mismanagement happens at Indian airports.
Our cities still look like slums with stray animals roaming on the street and garbage dumps at random places, the streets are encroached by hawkers, the city planning is horrible with random slums and open sewage flowing through the heart of the city. If Modi 3.0 can transform Indian cities to make it on par with Chinese cities then we can truly believe in a developed India. Otherwise it's all slogans and gimmick.
