@@MausTheGerman Well west has prospered through the plunder and destruction of countries like India.
It was when massive wealth flowed from India to Britain through loot & exploitation, that Britain became a rich country. The same has been the case for most countries in western Europe and also settler countries such as US, Australia, Canada etc.
This is why west is ideologically opposed to countries like India.
Germany, likewise, has an extremely prejudiced and destructive view about India. Germany was always a supporter of organized plunder of other lands. It has produced the biggest number of people who contributed to the building of Race ideology. And Germany wished to build a world where it could consistently exploit others to benefit itself.
But the world has changed. And this is what many countries in Europe, such as Germany, UK, do not like. For this reason they are always deliberately engaged in slander of other Non-European countries.

India, as a whole, may be reckoned as a growing economic power, mostly because of its geographical size, which is as large as Europe minus Russia. It is now the most populated country in the world, with a middle-class population as large as that of the entire population of Europe.
India is known for its soft power, be it in the field of IT, Bollywood, and South Indian movies, especially its songs and dances. Hindu culture and tradition, including various forms of classical dances, songs, musical instruments, art, handicrafts, and food (Indian food is popular worldwide), also contribute to its soft power.
India is mostly an agricultural country with four distinct seasons and a vast network of rivers. The fertile Ganga-Brahmaputra delta, possibly the biggest in the world, contributes to its agricultural productivity. Additionally, its tea, cotton, and other agricultural products play a significant role in its economy.
As the population grows, there are greater transactions, which are increasing the economic growth rate. A large number of highly qualified and skilled Indians are working abroad, especially in the Gulf countries and the USA, and they are repatriating money back to India.
However, despite these economic strides, most Indians are still very poor and malnourished. India is a protein-deficient country, as the majority of the population prefer vegetables and grains over animal protein due to religious and traditional reasons.
The per capita income of India is even less than that of the poorest country in Asia, Bangladesh. Most Indians lack economic efficiency and employability, with very poor literacy and basic skills to work in modern factories.
Infrastructure Development: India faces challenges in infrastructure development, including inadequate transportation networks, power shortages, and deficient urban planning. Addressing these issues is crucial for sustaining economic growth and improving living standards.
Environmental Concerns: Rapid industrialization and urbanization have led to environmental degradation, including air and water pollution, deforestation, and habitat destruction. India needs to prioritize sustainable development practices to mitigate these environmental impacts.
Gender Inequality: Despite progress, gender inequality remains a significant issue in India, with disparities in education, employment, and political representation. Empowering women and promoting gender equality is essential for inclusive economic growth and social development.
Healthcare Access: Access to quality healthcare remains limited in many parts of India, particularly in rural areas. Improving healthcare infrastructure, expanding health insurance coverage, and enhancing healthcare delivery systems are vital for addressing public health challenges.
Education Reform: While India has made strides in increasing literacy rates, the quality of education remains a concern. Education reform is needed to ensure access to quality education for all, promote skill development, and enhance employment opportunities for the youth.
Corruption and Governance: Corruption and inefficiencies in governance continue to hamper India's development efforts. Strengthening institutions, promoting transparency, and combating corruption are essential for fostering a conducive business environment and attracting investment.
Regional Disparities: There are significant disparities in development outcomes among different states and regions within India. Addressing regional disparities in income, infrastructure, and social indicators is essential for achieving balanced and inclusive growth across the country.
Global Economic Integration: India's integration into the global economy presents both opportunities and challenges. Leveraging international trade and investment opportunities while safeguarding domestic industries and promoting equitable economic participation is crucial for maximizing the benefits of globalization.
Innovation and Research: Investing in innovation, research, and development is key to fostering technological advancement and enhancing competitiveness. Encouraging entrepreneurship, fostering collaboration between academia and industry, and incentivizing innovation are essential for driving economic growth and job creation.
Social Cohesion and Diversity: India's diverse cultural, linguistic, and religious landscape enriches its societal fabric but also poses challenges related to social cohesion and communal tensions. Promoting inclusivity, tolerance, and dialogue among diverse communities is essential for fostering unity and harmony within the nation.
However, the educated and professional middle-class population makes India an attractive market for consumer and consumer durables. Yet, the Indian tax system is often regarded as one of the worst in the world, burdening salaried middle-class families with high taxes, inflation, and spiraling prices.
There is a growing desire among educated Indians to break away from traditional Indian homes, seeking flats/apartments and cars for their small families. However, politics, class, and caste systems prevalent in villages and urban slums have undermined the social fabric of India, despite its rich and colorful culture and customs.
Religious hatred, stemming from differences in traditional beliefs, faith, custom, and culture, which are deeply rooted and passed down verbally over generations, has further complicated social dynamics in India.
India is still far behind in technological prowess compared to the Western countries. It has yet to produce its own patented, cost-effective, highly efficient, durable jet engines like Rolls Royce's, advanced semiconductor fabrication capable of handling Artificial Intelligence, Tesla-like electric vehicles, advanced medical equipment, and space shuttles and rockets like those of SpaceX.
India has a long way to go to become an economic superpower where poverty and malnourishment are things of the past and where it leads in technology.

    Hello from india.
More than 75% of our population earns less than 2$ per day.
Living standards are so miserable that it really hurts the heart to see our fellow indians like this.
Dont want to be a superpower ; want indians to live a better life !

We Indians have no desire to be a Super Power or Dominate the Region through Military Prowess and Aggerssion, We just want to be a Developed Nation with a Great Economy.
Step by Step, We climb the Ladders of Progress and aspire to be a First World Deeloped Nation in the next 20 years. The West is literally putting words in our mouth when they talk about Super Power. We Indians aspire to be "Vishwa Guru" (Teacher for the World).

Again, superpower terminology is a western construct. This doesn't apply to India. India will advance phenomenally in AI, Space, Quantum Computing and Next Gen Tech and will likely to follow the teachings of Ramayana. Western Construct of Superpower, Flexing Muscle, World Dominion doesn't apply to India. India is a civilizational state since time immemorial and aspire to bring the golden age of 'Rama'

One of the most critical, sober and balanced analysis of India that I have ever seen in recent times in the western media.
Critical but not abrasive. Points realistic mirror to the areas that need attention. A refreshing contrast to the holier than thou western media that constantly lectures us.
India is a significant power now on the threshold of moving to being a very major power in five years. Most Indians do not see themselves as dying to be a super power, or wishing to play power politics that comes with the SP tag. We still aspire to being a big, major power, not to be ignored at the global high table, not to be sleighted by minion countries or their media, a sort of balancing power, and definetly a friend of all countries. We are here for the good of the world and not just ourselves. Best captured in two words- Vasudaiva Kutumbakam- World is ONE.

What Modi is supposed to have done to his opposition though highlighted, is only recent. How come he won in 2014 and 2019 when this was not done? The fact is that he is trusted by more citizens of India than all other politicians combined.

10 years ago there we would never have had a positive discussion like this on India. Instead of ignoring or belittling India, the world is now paying attention. Interestingly most of India's issues today are a consequence of centuries of meddling in India by colonisers and non Indic religious groups. How well we are able to throw those monkeys off our backs will dictate how far India goes. We may not get this chance again for a long time.

India will become a superpower in the true sense when we recognize our spiritual and cultural strengths.
To make big reforms in a diverse country like India, one has to be authoritative. What's wrong in that?
Without understanding the nuances of specific problems India faces daily, western media should avoid unnecessarily criticizing PM Modi.

India, the world's most populous country with 1.4 Billion people, 5th largest economy, having large English speaking technological & Medical pool, world's 4th largest military & a nuclear state must be a permanent member of UNSC.
When the US invaded Iraq in 2003, US security expert James Dobbins declared that “no military in the world had more nation-building experience (than the US)”. But the US even with its allies has failed miserably on all occasions: Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Libya, Sudan to name just a few.
The US with its military & technological prowess achieve quick victory to eliminate terrorists in difficult regions but fails to stabilize them converting victory into defeat.
Establishing a system of security, law & order and helping people maintain their economic livelihoods & state building is a prolonged, painful risky process requiring long term commitment for support & training in policing and administrative areas where India can provide manpower & expertise.
The UN doesn’t need “Peace Keeping Force” it needs “Peace Enforcement Force”. India has experience of handling Pakistani infiltrated terrorists for past 4 decades & knows how to enforce peace.
Over 2.5 million Indian soldiers had assisted Britain to stabilize the world during WW2 out of India’s then population of 300 million & 28 of the 32 highest gallantry awards - Victoria Cross were bagged by the fighting fit traditional ethnic warrior regiments of present day India.
Indian Armed Forces during the 2015 military intervention by Saudi Arabia and its allies in Yemen successfully evacuated more than 4640 Indian citizens & 960 nationals of 41 countries using air & sea bridge amidst looming Al Qaeda & other terrorists attacks.
During 1971 liberation war of Bangladesh, Indian Army safely evacuated 93,000 surrendered Pakistani POWs from the clutches of armed Bangalis seeking Pakistani blood because of Pakistani troops unprecedented atrocities & genocide. India successfully established a new country.
Recently while most NATO nations have deserted America's Operation Prosperity Guardian, Indian Navy is independently assisting international shipping against attacks of pirates & Houthis.

@IndianStreetShittersPajeet (1)When Chinese dissident Liu Xiaobo was awarded Nobel Prize in 2010 in Norway, China banned imports of Norwegian salmon fish & Norway pleaded helplessness.
      (2) In 2012, China took control of Vietnam’s Paracel Islands & Vietnam could only protest, (3) In 2012, China refused to vacate Philippines' Scarborough shoal island violating an agreement negotiated by Obama & Obama abandoned the US Security Treaty Partner Philippines.
      (4) In 2013 China established “East China Sea Air Defense Identification Zone” over Japan’s Senkaku island & Japan only protested.
(5)That encouraged China to stealthily occupy Spratly Islands in April, 2015 to get control of strategic Indo-Pacific oceanic passage,
      (6) Instead of demanding China's withdrawal, Xi Jinping wa given welcome visit to White House where on Sept 25, 2015 he promised not to militarize illegally annexed Spratly Islands.! Xi then militarized them within 2 yrs.
      (7) On the Afghan front, China bled US & Nato in blood & treasure through its proxy Pakistan, handed them humiliating exit & got strategic CPEC access to Indian Ocean.
No body could physically block the belligerent Communist except India.
In 2017 when China illegally entered Doklam to threaten India’s North-East. It was physical blockage of Chinese Communist Army by Indian Army plus the rise of Indian people to boycott Chinese goods which made 400 Chinese Managers jobless with 30% drop in VIVO & OPPO sales within 2 weeks, that alarmed nervous China.
Trump finally took hint & in 2018 put 25% tariffs on 6,800 Chinese goods worth whopping $250Bn & sent his Pacific fleet to physically challenge Chinese in the SCS.
Again when India was under Covid lock down from April 2020, Xi thinking Coronavirus being highly contagious, non-treatable & very fatal causing Wuhan-type economic standstill invaded Ladakh. Again rapid blockage of China by India despite raging pandemic put spanners in Xi Jinping’s dream of having garden walk.
Modern India has earned its unique place among comity of nations in the world.
