    안녕하세요, 우와 대만에서 가장 좋다는 대학교를 다니신다니, 공부를 무척 잘하셨던 것 같습니다. 조언 좀 부탁드리려구요.
    외국인으로 대만대에 입학하려면 (우리나라 서울대 도전하는 것처럼) 학업 성적이 매우 우수해야 될까요? 아니면, 외국인 전형은 비교적(!) 덜 어려울까요?
    대만에서 공부하고 있는 한국인 고등학생이 대만대 도전하려면 성적이 무지하게 좋아야겠죠? 대학교 홈페이지에서 요구하는 중국어랑 영어점수는 됩니다만, 넘사벽일까요? 대만의 대입시험을 보아야 할까요?

    • @sweetpotatoislandtaiwan7411
      @sweetpotatoislandtaiwan7411  Před 2 lety

      안녕하세요:) 입학 성적은 상대적인 것이라 정확하게는 말씀 못 드리지만 대부분의 입학생들이 고등학교 성적은 GPA 3.5 이상, 토플&HSK/TOCFL 성적을 가지고 있는것으로 알고 있습니다. 외국인 전형은 현지 대만 학생들 전형보다 덜 어려운 것 맞아요. 요구하는 항목들은 비교적 적지만 경쟁자들은 전세계에서 오는 학생들이라는 것을 기억해주세요~
      사실 유학을 위햐 대입에서 가장 중요한것은 자기소개서와 스터디 플랜, 추천서인것 같아요. 여기에 성적&외국어 공인 점수까지 잘 갖춰지면 합격의 문이 더 활짝 열릴것 같습니다!

    Hey Janet, hypothetical question. You are 18 years old again and you have to choose a university in Taiwan THAT IS NOT NTU. Where would you go? Would you consider NCTU or Tsing Hua University in Hsinchu?

    • @sweetpotatoislandtaiwan7411
      @sweetpotatoislandtaiwan7411  Před 3 lety +1

      When I choose a school to study at, I look at the international ranking. I think it's important to choose the school that is internationally more known. So if it isn't NTU, then probably Tsing Hua Uni!

  • @yuzukii.1539

    Hi! If I remember correctly, you got a scholarship for NTU right? What were your stats (how was your application)? I’m interested in studying at NTU but I think I’d need a scholarship and I’m just wondering what my chances are. :)

    • @sweetpotatoislandtaiwan7411

      Hello!! I didn't get the scholarship upon the admission. My scholarships for international students were in my junior and senior year. My GPA was 4.14/4.3 when I got the first scholarship.
      But of course you can get the scholarship given to freshmen upon entry. You can apply for the scholarship when you send the application for NTU. I think 1-2 international students in one department gets the freshman scholarship(or maybe less?)

    • @sweetpotatoislandtaiwan7411

      As far as I know NTU sprays insecticide regularly. Also there are not that many bugs!! I haven't seen a single cockroach in my room for 4 years.
      Of course there is a notorious one called 'xiao hei wen'. It's a kind of a mosquito but once you get bitten by it, you'll die from the itchy skin. But unless you sit on the grass, you'll not get bitten by it.

      @sweetpotatoislandtaiwan7411  Před 4 lety +1

      It's not required(check once more for the required documents you need to submit), but what I found was now the professors expect you to have certain level of Chinese proficiency to understand classes. Plus, in the assignments you need to submit for DFLL, there are couple of questions you need to answer in Chinese and film that. So their expectation is quite high now.

      Hello, if you are thinking of majoring in English, you should apply for 'Department of Foreign Langauges and Literatures'. NTU doesn't have the Department of English, but the department I mentioned above is a similar thing. In that department, you learn about English, it's literature, culture and some other languages.
      DFLL is also the department all of have majored in. But DFLL deals a lot of literature. So if you're not a big fan of literature, you should reconsider!

      Hello! I would recommend you the CZcams channel that teaches Chinese. There are actually so many channels that teach you from the basic level and some channels are much better than going to language schools. Go to the book store and buy the textbook with many short conversations, so that you can practice the actual speaking. Your first textbook should include parts for the alphabet(pinying) and tone.
      If you learned the basic, you can try some online courses like 'Amazing Talker'. I've seen some people taking that. Also! I recommend you watching some shows from Taiwan or China! They really help you a lot. Like you can see the gradual improvement in the language:)
