    Go to the south if you don't like rain. In the south it hardly rains at all. There are some nice rainless days as well but yeah it does rain a lot in Taipei! Got sick 3 times already become of the 30 degrees one day and less than 15 degrees the day after hahaha so take care of yourself guys😂

      Actually there are a lot of poeple who speak well but don't know how to read. They all do a great job learning Chinese! You'll learn it real quick.

    hi, right now i'm studying simplified chinese? I heard that Taiwan uses a mix of simplified and traditional Chinese, but it's mostly traditional? Are most chinese classes taught in traditional chinese, as well? Or are there also classes in simplified Chinese? Thank you!

      Hello! Taiwan uses traditional Chinese fully. But there are some characters that look the same as simplified ones. So in those classes that are taught in Chinese, they use the traditional Chinese characters!

    I'm thinking about pursuing my masters(International Relations and diplomacy) from National Chengchi University or Ming Chuan University. I'm seeing mixed reviews about them on the internet. What is your opinion about these two colleges?

      Hello, since we go to National Taiwan University, we're not quite sure about their programs. But they are pretty well known, high reputation schools. So I don't think you need to worry much. I have seen some people pursuing degree on international business at Ming Chuan Uni. and they were satisfied with their program.

    are there any age barriers to starting school in taiwan? I'm 27 and i want to apply to go to university in Taiwan, but i don't even know how to start or where to go to start application process or anything really. help! i'm lost haha.

      There isn't any limit in age. Anyone can go study in NTU.

      This is the link for the quota and requirements for each department.

      The application period for 2021/2022 school year is until Feb. 25, 2021.

      I recommend attending the Chinese language institute first! It would be hard to adapt without knowing the language.

      Maybe New York is a bit more polluted because NY has a bigger population? But Taiwan is also very bad..

      You must have the 'high school diploma'. But I guess NTU has their own policy for the 12th grade students who are about the graduate from highschool. I recommend you ask the NTU OIA which handles international students' affairs! You just need to google NTU OIA for the contact info

    Any updates on how studying in Taiwan works now? Will they let any Americans in right now? I want to get out of here and go somewhere where I can get out of the house and hang out with friends. Apparently Taiwan has the coronavirus under control.

      Hello! Taiwan lets students in! But the thing is you need to be self quarantined for two weeks, with your own expense:( Not sure what will happen next semester though.
      Hopefully their regulation gets alleviated soon!

      I don't think National Taiwan University accepts international students. You can look for Taipei Medical University! It's a top ranking school.

      @@faseehahmed8222 College of Medicine in NTU does not let any international students in for bachelor's degree. (except for the department of physical therapy). You can see what I mean when you go to NTU OIA and look for the quota!
      If you want to study medicine in Taiwan, you need to look for other schools, but not NTU.

      You at least need to be able to speak to the point you can communicate with peers and professors. Or at least daily conversation.
      We have taken required courses related to literature and language. Aside from those we took courses related to economics, business, culture, biology and etc

      Well, I knew Chinese from the past, so language barrier wan't that huge of a problem to me. But you can solve it through mandatory chinese classes NTU hold, doing language exchange and being active in school!!

    NTU does offer introductory Chinese language program before university courses begin.

      It's very important. Although there are many English classes, there are also many classes taught in Chinese you'll need to take.
      NTU doesn't offer free mandarin courses before the admission. You need to pay for the Mandarin Training Center.

    27C!? 😆 Might want to avoid the tropics. I live in California, which is usually quite dry when hot, but it can get up to 40C or so.

      Sure you can:) If you're worried about your diet, then there's no need to worry. There are many vegetarian and vegan restaurants in Taiwan.
