Hi sweet potato island! Your videos have been really helpful! I am considering to go to NTU next year and i want to take food science. I've been studying basic mandarin (around HSK 2 or 3),
*do you guys think that i can catch up the lesson well while my mandarin is still a little bit poor?
*with what language does the major(food science) been taught? Is it 50%english and 50% chinese or is it 100% full chinese?
*do we have to take mandarin test first in NTU to get accepted?
*what majors are taught in english?
I would be very glad if you guys answer my questions 😝😝. Keep making those videos you guys are so cool!

Hello thank you for supporting us:) I suggest you pull the language proficiency level upto HSK 4 or 5. I think that is the average Mandarin level of international students at NTU. For some departments, it is mandatory to take Mandarin test before entering NTU. It is definitely preferred to have the score.
I am not quite sure about the Food Science Department. But I doubt it wouldn't have many required courses taught in English.

Heya! Thank you so much for the video. It really helped me understand the conditions at NTU much better. Just wanted to ask you if it's hard for an international student to get admitted in the computer science undergrad program? Or overall, how tough is it to get into NTU as a non-local?

As long as you fully prepare, there will be the higher chance of getting admitted. Something like language proficiency requirements and other helpful documents!!

      @sweetpotatoislandtaiwan7411  Před 5 lety +3

You can apply for the International student scholarship from NTU after being accepted to NTU. But MOFA or MOE are before you apply for NTU!
Also when you apply, in the application webpage school asks you if you want to apply for the scholarship too. If you get this scholarship, as you enter school, you get money.

Hi!! Next application for NTU will start this winter(2019 December). The plan for 2020/2021 admission is not out yet. So we cannot tell you the exact date. Also there might be some programs that start from the second semester(which is from Feb. to June). I recommend you to go to the NTU OIA webpage and search for it.

Hello, Thank you for the helpful guide. I'm still considering to study in Taiwan and this video really help me a lot, but I still have a little bit of question.
    1. I'm planning to take the English class program. From your video you said that we don't need fluent at Chinese to study at NTU, but I want to learn Chinese too. So will they give us Chinese lesson class? is it paid or free? and how long?
    2. Is there any minimum score for IELTS test to get accepted in NTU? if yes, how many?
    3. If i already take the english class but sometimes want to learn in Chinese class too in my major. can i join?
    4. Is business class available in English?
    5. May I know what year you are in NTU now? I still have 1.5 years before going to university and If I really got accepted in NTU, I just want to meet you and take a photo with you because all of your video is really helpful for me :D. THANK YOU.

Hello~~Thanks for asking us and this is Janet answering.
      1. NTU will provide you the best courses for you to learn Chinese. When you become the freshmen, it is mandatory for international students to take a Chinese course called 'General Chinese'(6 hours a week). And of course this class is included in your tuition.
      2. The minimum score for TOEFL and IELTS depends on the department. So you need to check each department's requirements!
      3. You can join required courses of your department that are conducted in Chinese. (Only if there is a replaceable course.)
      4. There are going to be a lot of business courses taught in English.
      5. Ashley and I are in the junior year and Aria is in her sophomore year. So by the time you come to NTU, Ashley and I might not be in Taiwan:( But thanks for all your support for our video!!! So sweet~

I'm going to NTU next september to take chinese classes every day and they don't allow the students of my program to live in the dorms so I need to look for an apartment. Is it hard to have a social life and make friends if I don't live in the campus? What are the main activities that international students do there (aside from studying)? Do you recommend being an international student in taipei?
