Thank you for sharing your story! Your story really resonated as my background is so similar to yours, (majored in marketing/advertising for undergrad, worked for media/advertising agencies, and after 3 painstaking years was finally able to break into a role in the tech industry by becoming a sales account executive/account manager. Plus... I'm also Taiwanese!)
I've been feeling so discouraged as I have 0 technical skills whatsoever, but I'm great at understanding what customers need and know how to talk to them. Thank you for sharing your advice and tips. This has convinced me to continue trying to give it a shot! You're awesome💪🏼

amazing video and content. thank you for your inspiration and sharing all of your knowledge and experience! The high frequency of the very small space between micro-edits in this video was a bit intense/distracting for me. It's a popular editing style and it works well, but when there's like 10 edits in one sentence, and sometimes several very short edits between several connected words, it can be a little overwhelming. Anyhow, love the content! Looking forward to more

@@jjvs9 I was not a PM when I was at uber but I was working on a lot of PM related projects that helped me shape my product path!

Great video! I am customer service manager for over 5 years and and I am trying to get in product management I have tried to get jobs im account management no luck! I wanted to know should I just go to the boothcamp

To be honest, boot camp is quite expensive. If you know PM is what you want to do in your career for sure and u have the budget, then yes boot camp will be helpful for sure.
Otherwise, i think working on mini project and understand what PM really is and then use those mini projects to gain real-life experience will be even more helpful in landing u a role.
A lot of times, what PM boot camp does is teach you PM fundamentals, but in interviews, you need to have some transferrable experience to talk about it and showcase yourself! :) 😃

Hi Claudia, I used the side project for my past role and turned them into a portfolio! I also included how I developed my e-commerce store and drive sales by AB testing landing page!
And yes, will definitely make one!
Do you recommend doing a boot camp ? What types of resources did you use ?
Personally, I benefited a lot from the PM bootcamp! I learned how to interview for PM jobs and highlight my PM relevant skill sets during the interview and allow me to standout as a junior PM with no experience! If you have budget for PM bootcamp, I would highly recommend you to check one out! :)

Anything is possible! :))) I would highlight your transferable skills from studio management background and how it can help you drive product prioritization and how you can paint a story through customer’s lens! Hope this helps! I know this is quite broad but I’d start from here!

It’s possible! I will highly encourage to start connecting the dots between what you do now and see what are the transferable skills, take courses to learn more about what PM do and start crafting your story! You are not required to get a MBA to land a PM role! Building your portfolio and showcasing your past experience will also get you there! :)

There are many ways to land a PM role. To new grad, you could look into associate PM role. Or u could look into some product adjacent role! ☺️
