I really liked the sound when a laptop with minimserver, with the settings - the network bridge is connected directly to the streamer.

I can’t get the 2nd Ethernet to show in Rock.
    Perhaps it’s because I’m using usb-c?

I just tried it and....WOW! Thanks for this video, it really does sound better connected this way, more clarity, treble more open, any harshness in the highs is gone, bass more tight. I wonder if there would be any benefits in adding an audiophile switch like the etherregen between the core and the streamer...have you tried that?

Thanks for the feedback man. We just did a test of switches. It cán sound better. But I still prefer the direct way.

@@Burevestnik9M730 ethernet provide galvanic isolation, so in theory, it should be better. But if you use something like Jcat usb, then that will be a different story. There are so many configuration in audio world.

Any recommendations for roon rock hardware with 2 ethernet ports?

Not really actually. You could build a custom server or use a usb -> ethernet dongle? Or thunderbolt -> ethernet?

Maybe start more high showing components connected. Gets really techie so quickly. Wanna learn but it becomes frustrating

Just connect router to roon nucleus via Ethernet. A switch is just a means to distribute Ethernet connectivity.
