  • Phaksha bexuk is a Bhutanese style pork recipe, where pork is cooked tender with vegetable of your choice. Usually mountain vegetable are used to make this recipe and you can choose to use any vegetable of your choice.

    I've read that it's one of the popular dishes in Bhutan. It's simply a mouth-watering dish and I'm craving for it. I'm quite sure it is delicious to the taste.     If i may correct Its Phaksha Bazum ...not Phaksha Bazuka. I recommend you to boil the potato first and add red chillies and others ingredients later to avoided over cooking dried chillies. Anyways good one.

    Bhutanese here! I haven't heard about or saw this dish ever. Phaksha is Pork but what is Bexuk?
    Our only pork dish is called Sikam Paa. I should say it's northeastern pork recipe.

      Thinley W I'm a Boro living next door to Bhutan. I think phaksa laphu (pork with radish) is a most awesome Drukpa dish.

    For how long do you boil the pork ?

      If you are boiling raw pork, ideally you would boil it for 45 minutes. I am using pre-cooked pork to make the recipe and hence did not boil much.

    Just came across this video. I am Bhutanese and there is no dish called bexuk, so it’s quite misleading. And we usually add chillies at last so that it doesn’t get overcooked.

    Only red chillies where are the rest of the spices, try some Gorkha recepies also which I think is the much advanced among the north eastern cuisines, since we have varieties of cuisines and the excellent art of cooking, not just bolied and blant stuffs ...which I guess every tribes of north eastern region should learn it
    We have list of cuisine which we prepare occasion wise , every spice which we use has their own story
