I did not know about the Edison Pen Company, until I saw Brian as a guest at Appelboom Bites. Wonderful idea to highlight the #8 nib with the Jameson. Subscribed !
This one checks all my boxes. Huge nib, the center band that extends for the entire bottom of the cap, an interesting and functional clip, a long section, and a flat top design. You made my extended pearl in moonbow, and the stub grind you performed is my favorite in my collection. I think it's just a matter of time until I order my second one with all of these design elements coming together.
Well, darn you, Brian! Here I was enjoying the pens I have (including a number of "Eddies") and decided to ease off in acquisitions now that later stages of life are approaching when you go and decide to introduce this very serious temptation!! My resolve to abstain is rapidly weakening!
Thanks! And this will be available as a Draw Filler soon. I just need to finish the engineering. And then no problem with an ink window, just haven't made one yet! :)
I am a big fan of the larger nibs. I don’t currently own an Edison but after seeing the new model here, it’s going on my list. Lovely pen and kudos for listening to feedback on the section size, I always prefer a longer section. Also that colorway is beautiful, congrats!
Congratulations on the new model! Haven't tried the #8 nib but will have to give it a try as I enjoy all the other elements of the Jameson :) I especially love the shape and length of the section for this one!
This is a great looking pen. I saw all the different acrylics available and it would be a difficult choice. .I have two questions: Can you eyedropper fill this pen? What line widths are available with the #8 nib? I tend to use an EF or F nib, depending on who makes the nib..I usually use a nib with a 0.4 - 0.5 mm line.
@@paulmchugh1430 Thanks! And yes, no problem with Eyedropper conversion. And the nibs come in F, M, and B. However, I can usually inspect our inventory of Fines with magnification to locate a nib that will write on the finer side. So getting a .4mm line out of a Fine that I've chosen for this is very likely.
Very nice design! Even though my hand is smaller (medium sized for a woman), the longer section appeals to me because I tend to hold my FPs farther back (might relate to being left-handed?). Hoping to check out a Jamison at the Ohio Pen Show this fall! (Still loving the beautiful Beaumont I bought from you a couple years ago!❤✒)
I love the longer section! Quick question to anyone that can answer it, what is the difference if any between a plastic feed and an ebony feed? Thanks!
Thanks! As far as your question, plastic feeds are usually precision injection-molded, while Ebonite feeds are machined from hard vulcanized rubber (aka "Vulcanite" or "Ebonite").
Haha, thanks for the kind words! But definitely not a Radiomir! Actually, I really enjoy leatherwork and so I made the watch band, which looks unique and similar to some Radiomirs. But thank you!
I love how much thought you put into your design, the nib really is striking. I've been wanting a big nib, but 22/24 of my currently-inked are flex nibs -- any idea if someone's working on big flex?
Thanks! Actually, you might be surprised at how much flex is in the steel nib. The steel is a little thinner than typical #6 nibs, and they tines are longer, of course. I wouldn't treat this nib like a legitimate flex nib and really push it, but if what you are after is the feel and bounce, this nib is surprisingly flexible in that department.
You feel the same way as I do about pens! In fact I see a pen with a very large body and small nib as not a large pen, because it is the nib that makes the size of the pen, in my opinion, more so than the body. I live in Australia and would love to get some of your pens, but don’t know if there is a stockist here?
Hi David. Thanks for the kind words. And we don't offer our Signature Line through retailers, I'm sorry. Since every Signature Line pen is highly custom, we can only sell them direct. But we have no problem with shipping to Australia and do so regularly. Thanks! - Brian
@@edisonpenco excellent! I will reach out to you. Love what you are doing, and that you are designing and building everything here in our USA and Canada region.
There is a possibility of a #8 sized offering in the Production Line. But honestly I can't promise this, and I can't give an kind of a timeline estimate. But also if you like the Jameson, we do ship to the UK all the time for our Signature Line. Thanks!
I think #8 nibs rock! Obviously, not for everybody, but definitely for me. I’m putting the Jameson on my TBA (To Be Acquired) list.
I appreciate this new model design and the long section as well! Fun to see the #8 nib from this sized pen!
Thanks! I'm pretty proud of this design!

I really appreciate your straightforward explanation of design decisions. Very good to listen to. Also, nice pen!
Thank you!
Very nice design. The large nib and extra length when unposted make the pen unique.

Very, very nice work!
The only upgrade I can think of for this design is to make it a piston filler and add an ink window.
Thanks! And this will be available as a Draw Filler soon. I just need to finish the engineering. And then no problem with an ink window, just haven't made one yet! :)

danngit, this is such a cool design! love the clasical styling of a flattop.. might have to try this.. great work!

Looking forward to write with a Jameson with a loooonnnng section.

Jameson Grande with #10? :)
Hmmmm....possible. Stay tuned but not anytime real soon, if so. :)
Thanks! That’s good enough for me :)
Looks great! Do you ship to Canada?

Any plans of #8 nibs trickling down to the production line and being available through international retailers? I'd love to get one in the UK
