- 1-13-2009. (FYI: I have the March 09 at HOU gm up, too, don't confuse the two). I don't really recall the big Kobe play in this game (you'll know it when you see it). Am I trippin or is that a common highlight or a rare one? I didn't recall anything that happened in this game in full, either. Hadn't seen it since the night of.

I remember that Kobe game winner because he made the exact same shot in the same position literally the next night in San Antonio. Only difference was the Lakers lost that Spurs game after Roger Mason got a phantom and-1 to take the lead back.
I forgot the Spurs gm/shot precisely because the refs screwed us. I tend to wantonly avoid forming any memories of such gms if possible.
wow i remember that. they also missed a 5 sec call on bonner right before the mason shot happened
With Stu, we had a Yaowll (Yao), a Paowll (Pau), and a Powell (Powell). Also a Kuhsoul (Gasol).
😁🤣
Thanks for putting these games up!!! I read Jeff Perlman's Three Ring Circus and I'll be reading his Showtime book soon. Three Ring was really good and very compelling and also informational. You are the best laker archive uploader on here.
Thank you, Isaac. I appreciate that compliment, bro.
Sunday is NOT a day of rest for NPZ! 🔥
I observe NO religulous matters on Sundaes.
Per Isaac Green, commentor: "You (NPZ) are the best laker archive uploader on here." Do you concur with this sentiment, Davo?
@@nonplayerzealot4 It’s ironic, because I’ve always considered you a Christ-like figure, NPZ.
@@DavoBirmingham2 Haha. bubufubu shook his head in disgust on that one. I thank you and I accept said compliment in the knowledge that absolutely no sarcasm or humor was meant, implied, or conveyed. To some, I am a living GOD...
Kobe's eyes light up when Battier guards him.
And that's twice Kobe hit a game winner in Battier's face.
First time was against him during his rookie year (2002) in Memphis.
It was the 02-03 season actually, Battier was in his 2nd season
Thank you
I think LA matched up better w/ the Yao format of HOU and definitely not w/ the ragtag injured Yao verz. That shit is clear as day when you watch gms from 09 where he was healthy. HOU was much more conventionally built as the Lakers were w/ the plodding front line. I don't think it was coincidence that the Semis went to 7 after Yao went down in Gm 3 (LA was up 2-1 at the time). And Lakers woulda won this by 10-15 if Wafer didn't have a wet dream game.
Yeah that one usually isn’t included in the Kobe highlight mixes
I guess it’s one of the lesser known Kobe plays but yeah I’ve seen it
A lesser known game winner? Anyone else? I dunno why this one doesn't stand out to me, but maybe it fell into the cracks of the collective conscience somehow.
