I would love it - if it can become like you said a menu load system option for the Mig Switch. I wouldn't put it past Switch 2 will incorporate hardware to block such device.

I really really hope they add firmware that allows you to select the game native from the switch, if it doesn't happen, while it sucks, it'll be okay.
Something else I'd love to see you compare once you get your unit, is comparing the loading times, and performance in game compared to a native cart. I've seen another review briefly touch on it only when opening the game, and the mig switch seems slower. I wonder if that would be fixable via firmware

I don't think this will affect physical secondhand game sales and prices much. Everdrives exist for all the console systems and secondhand games sell for high prices regardless.

I’d definitely love to win the mig switch. I have some ideas of bypassing the check for it being an owned copy or maybe randomize it but it always checks good whether it’s a good number or not. It just uses a random one already in the system. That would be sweet. To play rims on the old switch. Until switch 2 comes. To keep us busy. Lol

No. The needed files can only be extracted from the original game cart
Their own fault, in my opinion, even second-hand games, are overpriced deliberately manipulated to keep prices far too high

Great work again my dude! Soon we will have a PC Companion and a easier way to dump your switch games from a hacked switch . Sucks that this pretty much emulates the gard card slot so right now no menu will be possible so no 500in1. From my understanding with the DS scene it was actually launching a software exploit where as this would not be. This is just my understanding so far.
yes, true to a point. But, we are half way there. Next step is figuring out how to run a modified game off it. Which I believe is possible, just havent had a great way to get the game to run on an virgin switch until now.

I dont think there will be a gamemenu. Game menu requires a buffer overflow exploit within a game to make such a thing, I'm not sure if any game has something like that.

moddedhardware has a ship in service to mod the switch starting at $80. The mig switch and dumper go for around $125 before tax and shipping. A modded switch is safer as it creates a sandbox environment to play your backed up games. A mig switch run on the nintendos operating system so it is more likely to be banned. With the mod you can exit out of the sandboxed environment and go online when you are done.

All they need to do is make sure NSP converted to XCI work. We can convert eShop to cartridge format

I heard that updates for games are a pain to run them since the MIG cant read NSP and using the program Swiss Knife somehow corrupts the entire XCI for the MIG to read

After months of waiting, finally got my hand on my MigSwitch, but can’t do anything with it since there are no games with initial data available online right now… 😅

I ordered mine from China and they sent me a link with 100+ games. They update it every month. You just need the 🔌
Best part, you don't even need to have a modded switch.
You coupd buy a bunch of games for the switch, use the cart dumper move the games over.
Then return them, that way you get a portion of the money back, ajd you get to keep the games, even make a backup of them on you're PC.
All in all its a win win.

Well it depends on the price. I hate to keep changing my cartridges. I only buy AAA on the cartridges which I have plenty, but indie games I would use the eShop.

What stops Nintendo to, in the next update, make the switch store somewhere every certificate used in each game, even in airplane mode, and then, the first time you connect online even without this, send that data to them and ban you if the data sent is from fake certificates or banned ones?

It would be cool if we could uncensor some games with the Mig Switch & the dumper.

I forget who it was but there's a certain tool you can use to hook up to the pins of those shaved chips and it will tell you exactly what they are using. 😂

As long as you know how to use the tools on pc that convert files then yes. But it's probbaly Esier to backup in correct format

but its just to play your own back ups, it doesnt work with the games that you download because of the extra files that you need.

Switch 2 or Super Switch will be around, I already spend hundreds on Switch games so Nintendo isn't really losing at all.

@Gears and Tech i found that the games in switch cart don't the card ID to play the game and your wrong about the popping in and out. that if have alot switch on the cart it would take a long to get to the one you want to play witch is really anoyying.
solution: get multiple 64GB sd cards, put 6 games on each and swap the sd card when needed
That is a solution, but kind of goes back to the original problem of having to carry mutliple carts to play your games.
Not totally sure what you're saying. I agree popping in and out 50 times to get to your game would suck. But that's how it works

You can save a lot more money by buying the hack cartridge lol but if it makes you feel good to give your money to the big Nintendo then no problem use copies are very unlikely to be affected as the market is huge. It'll be very dumb of them to ban for that as it will create a snowball of big complains. Which will affect the "innocent" copies buyer as the cartridge will get updated way faster against that shit security Nintendo offers ( just look all their consoles got hacked first month)

You can also just hack the 3ds to use a regular micro sd card
If you have a 3DS then you have to hack it. It is done via software. It is awesome.
Would be nice if they added in a firmware update.
Nocturnal mode.. it takes the switch to offline mode and allows you to play "backed up games"
Dummy bin and certificate files so if you only have the game files, it vreates a dummy bin and certificate files that are universal.
Nand wiper - so it either creates a nand file stored on the mig switch so nintendo doesnt get suss about game data snd playing pirated games and makes it appear that the switch hasnt played any games that aren't official
All those features would be great, but need to be community generated. They can't officially provide them or it voids their statement about being against piracy

Only thing I could see happening is buying a game in a retail store, dumping that game and then go back with the reciept, trading that game for another game.

Can you formate the sd cart in the switch and put games on it through the switch. Then put in the mig switch cartridge and read it? If so we could back up and save digital only games.

We want an everdrive that gives you a list of games and you choose one. Currently this does NOT do that as you move from game to game by removing and re-inserting the card. Far from ideal.

This is a really cool device, but I will tell you just like every previous console generation outside of the Xbox systems will have their firmwares cracked at some point and be wide open for hacking generally within a year or two of the Next Generation.
So if you have patience then you'll eventually be able to do all this for free.

On PS4 I have tons of games because I buy them on sale, I will happily wait a year to buy a game for $30 or less but paying full price for a 5 year old game is unreasonable. I wouldn’t have ordered my Mig Switch if Nintendo wasn’t so greedy with their prices.

I think all of the people who are going to be dumping and selling games should buy a cheap copy of a bad game or something, keep that, and use it for their roms.
Not for nothing, but it should be within everyone's best interest to not get legitimate customers banned for the sake of recovering lost money on high priced exclusives. I know another channel was worried about that, and I think it's great that everyone can kind of have what they want without the used market turning into an entire risk for people trying to save a few bucks on switch games.

It's not as good as they make it out to be, Besides the XCI you need 2 bin files. (5 if you really wanted to be serious) But three for basic set up.
one is the starting data to sig the xci file, the second is a certificate that yes "yes, there are only 1 of these." I have about 300 xcis but only 200 of them have the bins.
and there is no guarantee these won't get me banned. we have to wait to see if there is a method to 1. Change your sys ID and 2. patch the XCI so that you won't be banend.
My hope is that there is a method to put CFW on the mig and modify the firmware, but as of right now I'm not using mine.
Gotta be honest, i can't see an instance where all of the GAMEFLY games get banned, how would nintendo handle that?

Honestly just done with the whole Nintendo online shit so getting banned doesn’t matter to me as long as my device doesn’t get bricked and I can still use the games 🤷♂️ especially with like emulators, the new Pokemon games for example definitely aren’t worth the price or the dlc. Nintendo has brought it upon themselves to care more about money than caring about the fans. The game boy and DS were ways we were able to connect with our friends. New age switch games have no where near the same feeling. Like pokehome for example

why would they be furious? They'll have to sell consoles in the next couple years, not games... as always when nintendo launches a new console there is a way to crack it and once sales took off they patch the glitch up. It happens every time I don't believe it is a coincidence do u? They are SUPER happy: switch 2 is hackable which is the biggest feature any consolle can have in the eyes of most customers.

i really hope those hackers who made mig switch will get caught. this thing ruins the used games market because now we cannot buy a used game without be sure the cart wont make our system bricked or banned due to multiple use of the same game since each cart has its own numbers. once someone copy the cart and resell the cart , it can lead to problems after. thats why ill never buy another used switch game anymore.
