I feel so nostalgic looking at this game. My brother and me playing everyday after school on our Wii. Dying multiple times, shouting in inaudible children screams, my brother crying because he never got Mario. Memories

I remember on that multiplayer 8-7 level when me and my sister's friends just threw each other off every two seconds and laughed like crazy

I always loved watching the movies in peach's castle showing off the speedruns of specific levels. It was so cool to see how close they got without getting hit and to try to imitate them
My step-dad was convinced the videos were just programmed instead of recordings of developers actually playing the levels.

My last run of this was 5 years ago, stopped at 25:13 which was 2nd place for a bit. Crazy times. Nice to see the top runners still pushing the game to its limits.

I didn’t realize that he did the commentary after doing the speed run until this video. I legit thought this guy could keep his composure and keep his thoughts coherent even when speedrunning
I was kinda the same. Like, I knew it was probably commentary but that hadn’t really clicked in my head until now XD
I never knew what he was doing saying it while playing or after thxs for clearing that for me :)
It clicked for me when he said “was”
I think he said in another video (dont remember which) that some he does live commentary and some is recorded after, usually depending on how stressful the challenge is and how many runs he's already done.
Now that my sister is older and doesn’t care about this game I can finally play as yellow toad

There was so much sibling betrayal between me and my brother, ESPECIALLY on the lava coaster level which was our favorite.
World 9 was so hard to beat but so satisfying

I love that boner coaster level
On that level the only thing we did was fight on the roller coaster. It took us like 5 tries to beat it since it was a full out brawl.
The amount of nostalgia this game gives me is almost too much, I can probably vouch for almost everyone that this was was one of the best things in their childhood.
I am still playing this to this day😆, loving every type of argument that settles between the players.

I cheered when I saw the skeleton rollercoaster. That was my favorite level in the game

I remember my mom surprising me with a wii and new super mario bros the amount of grinding i did for this game the nostalgia hits
The amount of memories that came watching this speedrun is crazy. It took my sister and I hours to beat the final level. She was out of lives and I barley made the jump to hit the switch and win.
Dude i legit looked up nsmbw speedrun and Found this, 4 MINUTES LATER, this was my first video game... I love watching people play it and it is so fun.
it was my first video game too, and now it’s my first speedrunning game. i got a 46:56.59 just now which isn’t competitive but it’s better than the 58:22.06 from my first run (i can’t take videos of my runs yet so this is without subtracting load times)

The nostalgia is crazy, I remember never being able to get passed world 2 EVER as a kid, and as years went by I eventually beat the game
i would always lose all my lifes and start the game over again
When I was 8 I played with my 6 year old brother and completed the game like 4 times it was fun
Me, my brother and my sister never almost never made it past the Roller Coster Levels, and we even tried to get our parent’s help. Those times are so nostalgic. I miss when I was younger
FINALLY! This was my favorite Wii game as a kid. I finally beat it after 8 years, and now it's nice to see this game still holding up.

I remember being excited to go to my cousin's house to play this game with them, but they would end up quitting halfway through because I was a little sh#t and always threw them off the edge or into enemies.

I remember me and my brother playing this game. One of the first games I ever did 100 percent. Incredible
Ah, NSBW. I remember playing through this game with all three of my siblings (Nintendo ain't stupid. They know couch co-op is how you market to families).
At the time, we cumulatively had well over a decade of Mario under our belts, and breezed through the levels- you can imagine the chaos of four siblings jumping on each other's heads and throwing one another is a great way to discover every secret the level has to offer- taking the cannon to 5, and then again to 8 before going back to World 1 to play the game "as intended".
I remember the Bowser fight vividly; only one of my siblings was joining me due to the cramped tunnels, so when that second phase happened, I was surprised how tense it got! As the oldest, and the one with the most experience, I was more invested in my deathless run than I realized, and the fact that my sibling and I were basically exchanging "bubble status" throughout the lava run really got all four of us amped up.
It made that final switch press all the more awesome. So long, King Bowser!
New super bros wii is truly my favourite game
I played this so much when I was younger, but could never beat the final bowser castle, also fun fact: if you get 99 one ups, Mario and Luigi will take off their hats till you lose one of them

Ah, good ol Wii Mario Bros. Mariokart Wii was a bigger part of my childhood, but I'm fond of this game.
My version of that Mariokart was Kirby’s Epic Yarn. I managed to sprain my wrist playing that game once XD

this just opened the floodgates of random super Mario memories from my childhood that I had completely forgotten. When he loaded into the first underground level I immediately was hit with the memory of when I spent countless hours grinding this game. Eazy always manages to find the most nostalgic games to speedrun.
This is still being speedrunned to this day and it's so satisfying to watch even in 2022!

Oh! I finally got past the final castle on world 8 with my dad and sister not too long ago!
Although we still haven't taken a crack at world 9 😅
World 9 is STRESS! The levels are mediocre in difficulty but the absence of checkpoints makes it pretty rough
I lost years of my life to world 9 and then my brother deleted my save file
World 9-7 is legitimately the hardest level in the game. Took me so long to get all the star coins on it.
Next up is to modify your Wii and download Newer Super Mario Bros Wii😉.
At least that's what me and my neighbours are playing rn!
9-7 is the only hard one to get all star coins, the rest are all pretty ez(coming from a guy who grinded speedruns and 100% on this game

Those two tricks in World 5 require a lot more practice time to consistently pull off than Eazy probably has.
After all he doesn't focus on one game to speedrun but is more like
"How good can I get with maybe 1-2 weeks of practice"

this was one of my favorite wii games as a kid and I remember struggling so much on many of the levels and watching this makes me so happy
I recently started speedruning this game, its my entire childhood and honestly probably one of my favorite games to this day. Im usually not a huge fan of speedruning, like for other games i dont find it that fun, i rather just play it normally. But NSMBW is different, its just so much fun to speedrun and recently ive been obsessed with speedruns on this game. Loved you're speedrun as well, keep it up!

Nobody ever acknowledges that Mario isn't the one that leaves Luigi behind here. *Luigi closes the door on himself* and the balloon floats away. People are quick to hate on Mario for some reason.

This brings back memories. Me and my brother had a daily screen allowance of 1 hour. One day when his friend came by we speedran through this game. I think we knew that the world 5 boat autoscroller could be skipped, but we didn't try it. I am pretty sure that we did beat the game in just under an hour. That was pretty amazing.

I remember as a wee lad of I believe 11 I would speedrun just 1-1, and I can confirm, it felt amazing.
I love it when Speezy plays a game that I'm familiar with, it seems like half the games he plays I've never heard of, but I still watch anyway since I love the content.

5-4 was the best level EVER, my friend used to come over all the time and we would call it the "pirate ship level" and I miss it so much
