    Are you trying to decide between eXp Realty and Keller Williams for your real estate career? Don't pull the trigger until you watch this video!
    In this video, I will compare and contrast these two real estate giants to see which is the right choice for you.
    We'll start with the basics. eXp Realty is a cloud-based real estate brokerage that allows agents to work remotely from anywhere in the world. Keller Williams is a traditional real estate brokerage that allows agents to work in traditional offices.
    Next, we'll look at the compensation. eXp Realty offers agents a revenue-sharing model that allows them to earn a percentage of the company's profits. Keller Williams offers agents a more traditional commission-based model.
    We'll also look at the training and support offered by each company. eXp Realty offers agents access to a wide range of webinars, podcasts, and other training materials. Keller Williams offers its agents access to local and regional training and support resources.
    Finally, we'll look at the overall culture of each company. eXp Realty is known for its forward-thinking, technology-driven approach to real estate. Keller Williams has a more traditional focus on providing agents with quality service and customer

    We are with eXp and it's been a great decision but this is such an individual choice for what's best for your business. Some ppl just like going to a brick and mortar and having a manager there and colleagues, etc.. It gives them structure and nothing wrong with that. I like eXp as I'm still selling real estate, that never changed, but I added 2 other streams of income. Again that's what was best for me. We never put down other brokerages and companies and not everyone in eXp is wearing a halo. Anyone reading this and considering eXp, be super diligent on choosing your sponsor. You would want consistent support from your upline and everyone connected with it. Best wishes and hope to see you on this side.

    I personally think Exp is best for seasoned or experienced agents. KW is usually the better choice for new, beginning agents.

    • @KyleHandy
      @KyleHandy  Před 2 lety +28

      I agree with you for the most part. However I do believe new agents can thrive at eXp and take advantage of all the training, resources, and mentorship program eXp offers, however you need to be self-motivated.

      I agree, I personally chose exp after watching this specific video. I went on an interview the week before w/ KW after doing extensive homework on who to choose. I was going to go KW but watched this and haven’t looked back. That was April 2022, I have my 1st closing next week and 4 deals working.

    • @christinerona5765
      @christinerona5765 Před rokem +3

      Totally disagree. KW is like a factory that gives no help to new agents at all. I dropped them after 6 months because the NYC tech guy Alex, never called me back to help with any system problems. Also, gen Z at front desk are so busy talking among themselves, they don't want anything to do with agents walking in and needing help. So disappointed with this company. Run Far Away!

      @@christinerona5765 I am a new agent and JUST LEFT KW yesterday! They dropped the ball right out of the gate by their consistent lack of communication!!! I had SUCH HOPE joining KW. I'm glad I have had the the good sense to walk away. I hope all brokerages are not like this! I'm currently looking for another brokerage. I don't think ExP is for me at this time as I need a real body.

    • @BuddyQuaid
      @BuddyQuaid Před 9 měsíci

      @@christinerona5765That's not indicative of KW as a company but any means. Each office is a franchise and not owned by KW. All you have to do is contact the owner of the franchise and let them know and they will do something about that but I understand from your pov that that is what you experienced. Too bad. It's a great company overall and had the best training in the world. They do have TONS of training so maybe you didn't pay attention in orientation and chose to ignore it.

  • @healthismypassionofficial

    Hi Kyle! I am in the process of getting my license and will be ready to roll by June. I was considering Redfin to gain experience and zero prospecting. I have a family to support, so being able to get clients sent my way, right away is a plus. The downside is the comp structure. What would you say to a newbie like me that loves to work hard and the hustle, but concerned about the prospecting aspect of Real Estate and growing that pipeline to support my family right away?

    • @KyleHandy
      @KyleHandy  Před 3 lety +9

      If you like the hustle and to work hard, then in my opinion you’ll like the limitless opportunity that an eXp brokerage provides. Redfin is a lot like being a buyers agent on a team. It’s great for people looking for a consistent “managed” income. But for the amount of work you do as an agent, it soon becomes not enough long term. If you’re willing to take a bit more risk and know you have solid work ethic, it’s usually better just to go all-in from the start and build your business as your business day 1!

    Hi Kyle, I've completed all 6 courses and am studying to take my licensing exam in just a couple of weeks so am now deciding which brokerage to start with. This video was very helpful, thank you. You are definitely on my short list if I decide to start out with EXP. I live here in San Antonio also. I do have so many questions about how the teams work and will I get the undivided attention when I need it most? I am very detailed, have high standards for myself and those I work with, and want to grow my business quickly. The exp agents I have dealt within 3 of the markets I cover seem very detached from the business, inexperienced and rude. Furthermore, ever since they got a hold of my information from a mutual transaction; they have been calling non stop trying to recruit members of my team or me to switch over. I know someone who works for eXp in my town but we are not actually friends so I can’t ask her what it’s like. Does eXp have more freedom? How about contracts? Is there a transaction coordinator? What if we can’t or do not recruit anyone in eXp? No matter how much I read or watch videos it still seems scary. How do you join a broker? Apply or just tell a broker you’re interested? I did things a bit unorthodox. I never worked for a broker. I took my test and passed without one. Also I have looked into places like Pulte or M/I which are new home sales. 😓.

      Most “team” teams don’t allow part-time agents. However, at eXp you can join someone’s “revenue share” team and get support, training, and collaboration for free. The difference between a “team” team and a revenue share team is the investment the team leader makes in you specifically. Typically on a “team” team you’ll get leads, maybe a physical office, shadowing. They invest in you financially and time. You’ll owe an extra split to the team leader. Typically they don’t take part-time agents because it’s harder to see a return on their investment. Let me know if that helps.

      eXp Realty typically does not cover the cost of obtaining your real estate license. In most cases, individuals interested in becoming real estate agents are responsible for the expenses associated with pre-licensing courses, exams, and licensing fees. However, it's essential to check with the specific eXp Realty office or team you are interested in joining, as policies may vary from one location to another. In what way? I'd say yes but there are some things that eXp doesn't allow. But in general if, as an investor, you're doing everything above board on standard forms and such, you shouldn't have any issue.

The reality is no brokerage is going to “want” you to wholesale but as long as you are following the law & protecting yourself then you should be fine. I am also an investor & EXP made the most sense for my business model.

    • @KyleHandy
      @KyleHandy  Před 9 měsíci

      No, you do not have to join a team when you become an eXp Realty agent. eXp Realty offers both individual agent and team options, allowing you to choose the structure that best fits your preferences and business goals.
      You can work as an independent agent, build your own team, or join an existing team within eXp Realty. The flexibility to make this choice is one of the advantages of eXp Realty, and it allows you to tailor your real estate career to your specific needs and aspirations.
      Whether you prefer the independence of working solo or the collaboration and support of a team, eXp Realty offers options to accommodate your choice. Feel free to explore the different options and decide what aligns with your vision and objectives in real estate.

I've interviewed with remax, kw, several eXp, several Crye-Leike, and mostly all the eXp brokerages stood out and resonated with me. I found it odd that KW is so religious (I'm definitely NOT), so I'd like to separate religion and work.

    Just passed my license test in Texas. I’m moving to Austin and my intention of getting the license was just a tool as an investor. And it’ll be nice to have some support and a few clients to represent. But I’ve always thought 6% sort of market commission is ridiculous. All the real estate I bought I found the properties, did the due diligence. Agents just wrote up the sales contracts that’s it. And it’s even easier to sell a house especially in a crazy market like Austin. Only thing is sales prices aren’t public in Texas. While I understand all the marketings, brokerage fees, team splits are expensive, do you think the Industry put too much emphasis and effort on selling to other agents, clients instead of actual houses? Agents are spending 80% of time selling non value add activities, and only 20% of time selling the products that actually bring clients values. If we can eliminate non value add activities, we can reduce the commission drastically and real estate becomes more liquid therefore more transactions.
    I apologize for the long ass question and my opinion. Anyway love the video and I will try interviewing both KW and exp.

      Alot of what you say is certainly valid. It's tough to change an industry that's been this way for nearly 100 years though. I'm sure it'll change but people keep saying that for the last 10 years (specificallY) with tech offerings coming about but it's still not overall changed much. Only time will tell when commissions will change. Good luck in the biz! Let me know if I can be of any help, should you decide to make the move to eXp.

    Do you think eXp will keep growing at this fast rate?

    • @KyleHandy
      @KyleHandy  Před 3 lety +5

      Hey Jeremy! I actually think we'll start to grow faster. We just opened 5 new countries and are gaining traction and recognition globally. That'll increase agent count and further establish our brand which will in turn grow US faster, in my opinion. Also, if we see a turn in the housing market (which is inevitable) many small independent brokerages will start to have to look closer at eXp to stay in business and allow them to build what they are trying to build as an independent but under a major brand. Just my 2 cents.
