I'm relatively new to AC about a year a couple of weeks ago new CSP 1.75 and Sol 2.1 was released and this has given the sim another breath of fresh air in terms of graphics and extra functionality - rain - time of day etc

With a VR headset on AC is one of the most exhilarating gaming experiences you can have and definitely worth getting for that reason alone. Furthermore AC will run VR on a relatively low specced system. I used to play it on a GTX 970 with a rift CV1 without any issues.
No doubt about it : AC is still more than worth it
Just bought assetto corsa, I have a lot of racwroom content and that’s gonna be my multiplayer mainstay but i don’t know if should’ve gone for compitetionze
ACC has way better physics and multiplayer but only got gt3 class. In AC u have way more cars and tracks. Do whatever you like.
@@rextuller3498 I guess, for single player action, AC is the better choice. Competitive multiplayer has better options available, depending on the platform you are using. iRacing PC, GT Sport PS 4/5... not quite sure, which one would be best for Xbox, but I hear VERY good things about Forza Motorsport 7...

AC is definitively worth buying. Along with CM and CSP, it has updated graphics and what I love about this sim is:
VRC Formula NA 1999, a paid mod that allows you to recreate the Champ Car / Formula Indy from late 90s, including oval versions. You can start racing on oval during the day and end the race at night. It's a blast!
There is a huge amount of mods (paid or not) that add a tremendous fun to AC.
AC is, by far, the sim I use the most. I also like R3E and AMS 2, but I always come back to AC.

Thanks dude, that means a lot! I'd say yeah, mostly because there's so many free mods out there that in my opinion are a bit more interesting than some of the DLC cars.
Can you have fun without the dlcs? Absolutely, all I had was the base game for a few months and it was still a blast!
I think we are at an era where you can pick almost any game from the last 5-6 years and it'll still be worth it because the graphics has become really good. It doesn't look like 'old' games anymore.

got the ultimate edition from steam yesterday on sale. £6.05 instead of £61.59. was going to put it on my wish list for a sale when i saw it had a 90% off sale on it lol.
its still on sale now but its now 50% off.
Took 2 of my real cars to brands hatch to give them a run to see how fast they would go about 15 years ago. SAAB 9000 eco power 2 litre light pressure turbo automatic. 150MPH. Volvo 760 2.8 litre V6 auto 180MPH. think both could of gone faster but ran out of straight so had to hit the brakes lol.
the SAAB could cruise at 70MPH no probs and only did 70MPG. round town it was more like 20MPG but on a motorway at cruising speed it hardly used any fuel.
Surprised about how fast the volvo could go seeing how big and heavy it was. It could out accelerate most other cars on the road as well.
Its why most UK police forces use volvos. not many cars can get away from them. the T5R5 the police use can hit over 200MPH.
Years ago the BMW M5 was winning every touring car race going till Volvo turned up with T5R5 estate cars that were just standard road cars fitted with the safety gear needed for racing and left the BMW's eating their dust.
Everyone laughed when they 1st saw the volvo team with just normal road cars not even racing tuned. they drove to the circuits not towed. had standard road tyres. nothing could get near them on aceleration or top speed on the race track.
I own both acc and assetto corsa. And still enjoy assetto corsa to test drive other track and cars that are not in acc. I tried to run monza with Lambo Hurricane GT3 and got similar track time and feeling on both, especially since my PC is a bit old and I get higher FPS and detail with assetto corsa than acc :)... So I don't get to enjoy the staggering graphics of acc. But acc bring also a great online racing and rating (when you need third party in assetto corsa) which was the trigger point to upgrade (plus a sale)
Yeah I hear ya on that, it's definitely much easier to run AC1 than ACC. I like AC1 for the older GT3 cars too, like the Z4 :D

I got ultimate for 8.50 $ on ps4, a buddy told me about it a while ago this is my first time getting into the franchise. As far as the physics with all the sims I have a 06 mustang gt premium couple passive mods, when you turn the wheel the car turns. I don't know about the stiff steering
The modding communities (Fallout, Skyrim, KSP etc.) is why I only game on PC. Mods is what sold me on getting this game.
I only drive racing sims in VR. I've been into vr for a while, but only started sim racing recently. I just cannot race on a flat monitor after vr..it's not even close to similar. However I have a very modest pc (i7 2600, GTX 1660) The only sim I can get to run smoothly is AC on my Rift S. ACC is horrific..I just can't my hands on more powerful parts at the moment!
Content Manager , SOL, and some of the high quality mods make Assetto corsa a great fun, replayable game that i have spent 100s of hours on it, If your looking for GT3 cars only i would highly recommend Assetto Corsa Competizione!!

Nice! The Formula 1/open wheel cars for AC are phenomenal. I'm working on a review video for an F1 mod at the moment
If you like classic F1, AC is the sim for you. There is plenty of mods for that (F1 from 1967, 1975, 1979, 1990, 2000 and modern F1, as far as I remember). Some are paid mods - they are worth every cent - and some are free. Of course, I'm talking about the PC version, as mods can't be installed on consoles.
AC1 is kind of like the Nerf Stryfe: ok but lackluster in stock form, but can be one of, if not the best with the appropriate modifications.

love assetto corsa, only issue i have is getting online racing, not always easy to find races
everytime I log in there are least 20 races to chose from, not counting the private servers
Ultimate edition is on sale for 9.99. I had to get it. I need a good driving game and gran turismo is not what it used to be.

Honestly the new sol+csp+sol pp filters on max looks better than fh4 from what my game looks like and comparing it to fh4 100% worth it bought it 2 weeks ago havent played anything else since also pay for the full versions if you have pc its literally any amount of money you donate for full csp and 1 pound fod sol full edition which comes with the best looking rain ive ever seen

I love Assetto simply due to the mod community. I am not into lap after lap. I like free-roam driving and cruising. No other game has actual freedom in driving. Plus VR support.
Also, it is the best for mixed reality videos.

Why not go with horizon 4? if you only focuses free roam. Idk kinda weird lmao. I play ac for pure motorsport and horizon 4 if I am feeling like I wanted to free roam

Just bought it for 20 bucks for ps4... gt5 is ok for the time being, my gt6 disc is not recognised by the system anymore, gt sport still doesn't really heal my single player itch and the pc2 ultimate edition cost half a fortune, atm... now a few days of waiting and I can finally race some good stuff again...

Yeah! It's not as popular as ACC/iRacing, but there's definitely some people online. The most populated servers are Nordschlieffe track day servers, but there's a few GT3/GTE/GT2 and F4 servers that are quite popular if I remember correctly. Thanks :D

yes it is if you like time trials and have friends that is i feel like most sim racers just use assetto corsa for time trials mods and online races like c mon who uses ai races they are horrible they t bone you every chance they get its horrificly painful i love the handling visuals and sounds but what the hell is wrong with the ai its like they are all just copying lewis hamiltons aggresion in 2019

@@keemzy7650 yes dude get it if you havnt already sorry only seeing your comment now, for a 6 plus almost 7 year old game it holds up very well, yes it has a career mode you start in alfaromeo and work you way up though the classes, but the AI is insane even on easy it will give you a good challenge, i play lots of racer but i always come back to asseto, the online community are proper racers. 90 percent of the player base take racing serious and want clean races none of that knocking people of the course crap to gain a position ( youll still get one or 2 dicks here or there) its pretty realistic you need to keep an eye on Tyre temperatures and stuff and changing your tyres and how much fuel you hve spring stifness all the stuff it all comes into play and has real use to it which gives it a real nice touch, cruise lobbys are good fun, i normally host f1 lobbys if you can get the f1 2004 ferrari pack its real good. i just really like it, its a well made game, if they ever make another one they dont need to chnage anything just update the graphcs and it would smash every other racer out right now, 8 dollars man you wont regret, only takes up 20gb space and just good for a real race, there isnt as much people on it obviously but youll still find plenty of lobbys,
legit this game has made me want a gaming pc just for this game, the mods that people have made for it are insane

I think so! It's one of the sims I started off with. Lets you go through a bunch of different types of cars to find what you really like
I think it is easier than other sim games like Project cars 2. Not because it's less realistic, but because you can better feel what the car is doing.

AC is superb my only problem is that the open wheel AI is so rubbish & crash to much for my liking not sure if that fixable
Yeah I feel ya there, it took probably an hour to get a full race in the Tatuus for this video because the AI kept destroying me or themselves in a huge wreck LOL

Hmm... I think that's a bit subjective. I think Assetto Corsa is the best overall value, but if you're after super competitive multiplayer races, iRacing would be your best bet. If you're into GT3 and GT4 racing, ACC is the best out there for it. rF2 is really solid, but IMO it's not worth it as there really isn't a multiplayer scene, but if you're only into single player racing, it's not bad. Raceroom is solid as well, but I like it more for the competitions :D

I think that depends on what you like driving! ACC is much more detailed in physics and FFB, but it's only GT3's and GT4's. So if you really only like that type of racing, ACC is where it's at. If you like mod-ability and other cars, AC is great for that
