Quite simply the best and most talented player I’ve ever seen in the flesh at Upton Park regardless of the shirt. Bearing in mind his competition includes Bergkamp, Giggs, Zola, Hazard, Beckham, Scholes, Gerrard, Lampard, Payet & Salah to name just a few that’s pretty high praise. Let’s face it West Ham only got him because he was damaged goods after the Alcock incident but it was only his reputation. A simply incredible player worth the price of admission.
A great player for sure. Being a celtic fan he’s not the best I’ve seen though. 😉

This guy, wherever he played gave his everything for every single team when on the pitch. Only played a season with my beloved Charlton but is defo up there with one of my favourite players ever for the passion he showed and of course the bats of quality too. Not many footballers around like him nowadays.

I'll be honest.... See the 4 or 5 years prior to him coming to parkhead.....they were horrible....what with Johnson signing for souness who had all the money at the time it looked so bleak..... Wee Fergus turned it around thank the Lord... The team Celtic had when Paolo signed would have won the Lot....I have no doubt about that....maybe even a European trophy.....that's how good that team was.... Just thinking about that forward line makes the hairs on my neck stand up...add to that Mcstay & Collins.... It was a fair side. I don't know what happened between Fergus and the 3 Amigos.....it was like they were here one day & then gone the next.... Johnny Collins too..... Heartbreaking man.... Really.... PTSD time again... They should be have us one....just another season...just one.... Mibbe no even one....say 6 months..... They would be had the telegraphed up for Christmas....Everybody's Happy.... But no... They left us in a worse state than before..... Poor Tommy.... Broke him...God bless him... Then it was a case of just hunkering down and getting closer to that mob.....it took another few years but eventually Wim won it... But I can't help but think.....we wouldve stopped their 9....long before they got it.....if we kept a hold of them for one more lousy year....1

Take the green nostalgia tints off your sunglasses. And for all the great forward line, we had the likes of Gordon Marshall, John Hughes and Malky MacKay at the back.
