      @@imOUTtraveling yes we did. Free parking, short walk! A little choppy, but so many fish to see. Literally in the waves at the shoreline.

    I am a scuba diver but it would be hard to find a better spot than Two Step Beach. I have been to the Big Island 4 or 5 times and got married by Justice of the Peace in 2008 to my fiancee from Colombia. At the time Hawaii had just instituted a crazy law that provides for fee up to $1000 to get married on a Hawaii Beach. I proposed to pay $50 to the Federal Park for the privilege of getting married on their property and they accepted. I saw the wild dolphins but never bothered to win out there to meet them.
    Actually Captain Cook spot off the hills of Kona is quite spectacular with thousands of yellow tangs and steep drop offs. The spot takes two hours of hard hiking from the road to the ocean down steep cliffs or you can rent a kayak and paddle a few miles to the Captain Cook Monument. This spot is very historic where the famous explorer Captain Cook lost his life

      @@guaporeturns9472 Captain Cook was a world reknown British explorer visiting for first time areas of New Zealand, Tahiti, Alaska, and of Course Big Island Hawaii. He died on Feb 14, 1779 as he tried to bring the elder king back to the Discovery, the boat moored in the Bay till Islanders returned one of his stolen skiffs. Cook was struck with a clubs and stabbed with a recently traded dagger by islanders at the water's edge. Four of British Marines died in the incident and dozen's of islanders were killed with gun shot. Both sides regretted the actions of that day and Islanders brought Cook's dismembered body to the boat the Discovery. He was dismembered which was custom for Hawaiian Chief's in part of burial process. And as reported by Tonto Return's Hawaiians did not resort to cannabalism.

    Great footage! My family and I are going there next month. Im bringing my GoPro as well. Curious, what selfie stick do you have that
    you're using for the underwater shots ?

    • @imOUTtraveling
      @imOUTtraveling  Před 2 lety

      You’re going to have a blast, the selfie stick is the SPIVO STICK.
      The offer online the stick by itself but for a little extra the floater that comes with it. I’d recommend getting the floaty otherwise you could lose it.
      Another stick I would recommend is the NuBear grip! It’s what I use on the daily and it floats plus extends!
      The difference between both of these is that the spivo stick has the trigger to automatically change the direction of camera rather than you rotating your selfie stick towards you.
      If you already have a vlogging style grip then get the spivo, if you don’t then I would recommend the NuBear, it’s truly my favorite.

    Can you also let me know what selfie stick you were using? I am looking for one that can be carried under water and one button to turn front and back? Thank you!

    • @imOUTtraveling
      @imOUTtraveling  Před 2 lety

      The selfie stick I always use for under water to turn forward and back is called the SPIVO stick. My favorite for underwater, it does not float so make sure to buy the float accessory for it🙌

      @@guaporeturns9472 sweet! Yea Big Island is great. If you have time, head over to south point and check out green sand beach. Close to it, you can also cliff jump if you’re into that but I would only do it if conditions are good, it can be pretty intense, not gonna lie!
      Another cool thing to do on big island is night time swimming with mantas but that’s on the west coast. We were at big island for a few days but more on Maui and Oahu, if you need any tips for those feel free to ask 🤙🏼

    I kinda felt like it could be important for people to know that isn't just some $20 parking lot next to two step. That park is very sacred, important, and wonderful to see if you get a chance. I understand this is a snorkeling video but if you have any respect for Hawaiian culture you should at least learn about Pu’uhonua o Hōnaunau.

      I’ll definitely do in the future, I decided to get creative on this one with that effect but on the next Hawaii video there won’t be any of those strobes I promise you that 🤣 working on the swimming with manta rays video as we speak. Thanks for watching and commenting! Two step was seriously one of my favorites on that trip! Watch out for those rocks and sea urchins getting in though!
