I really respect someone who has applied some solid critical thinking to their photography. Your three point system is a new tool for my kit…and I’m embarrassed to admit I first picked up a camera 50 years ago! I guess it’s the difference between just working it out, and slowing down and thinking about things for a while.

Wow. The 3 check combinations is such an awesome tip! I just looked through 3 Vanity Fair magazines and every single model is doing a variation of these poses. Thank you!

I always wondered how he chooses between using continuous and flash and what he characterizes as the the key advantages of using continuous over strobe (besides being able to see what the lights doing)

Something that bugs me about the first example was the model was actually in an interesting grubby urbex location and the resulting image could have been shot in studio or anywhere with a simple background. None of the location was really utilized.

Maybe he had more examples from that shoot but chose that picture. Also he said he was shooting a "portrait"

If you had watched his CreativeLive workshops, you'd understand where he's coming from, you'd actually respect him a whole lot more than using just this short tutorial. He's a genius with photography (as well as his guitar), he's made a study of human movement and body language, and I WISH I could make that first example be a gorgeous as he did.

@@legary2007 Just commenting on what was presented in this particular example as given . I am sure its a wonderful workshop. I think my comment is still legit and I dare guess he might even agree. Peace to you.

this is rubbish... the woman doesn't look "terrible" because her back is hunched... you treat women like objects jesus.
