Has anyone else noticed this pattern? Whenever Meg discovers she has a unique talent and someone offers a job she's actually very good at, Peter and/or his friends show up and take advantage of it until she either quits or gets fired because of him.

I always wonder why the show treats Meg as unattractive, she looks alright.
She looks good because a lot of people these days looks worse.
I think it’s one of those “character looks worse to the characters than to the audience” kind of thing like those shots that appear in SpongeBob from time to time. Not to mention her habits overtime have shown/implied grossness that taken all together would indicate that she’s rather gross to be around.
I think it doesn't help that they make her do gross things
It's a trope in edgy comedy shows. The scapegoat who gets tortured by everyone else for no apparent reason.

Idk anon, there was that one brief segment of "hot Meg" even though she was still considered ugly.
Google Meg gets a makeover, at the beginning of the series she was seen as a chubbier version of Lois, but later she was retconned as ugly.

Meg Griffin truly deserves to be a lifeguard; it's the perfect job, and I'm glad she even admits she gets no abuse from her family doing it. But then I bet the status quo is gonna make her quit her job and go back to her family, ugh! 😒 And why do we need those jokes about her staring at children, pooping bread from drinking the pool water, and making the voice of Ray Romano with her whistle? 😳 Either way, she is worth saving those in need, and also snazzy in that red one-piece swimsuit. 🥰
