      You hear about that guy, Gary Webb? They say he went out of his way to make the public aware of one of the C.I.A.'s illegal operations. In retaliation, they pulled strings to get him fired and destroyed his credibility. It ended up costing him his marriage too, but he still kept working to expose them.

      i think its funny because she often boasts her knowledge in geopolitics while she ignores stuff like this XD

    • @evansageser6943
      @evansageser6943 Před rokem +5

      @@2st486 To be fair, Lana keeps herself informed about the logical realities of geopolitics. Most of what the CIA gets up to legitimately sounds like the ravings of the craziest of conspiracy theorists if it wasn't for the fact that they themselves quietly declassified it.
      They've basically been relying on the public assuming belief in a rational universe where their government agencies wouldn't behave like supervillains.
      And it kind of shows the differences between Lana and Archer and the circumstances where Archer is actually the more knowledgeable one. Lana is the rational one, she has a grasp on common sense that Archer frequently just glosses over or flat out doesn't know. The man cannot even remember which countries fought on which side in WW2. But Archer's specialty has always been in the weirdly specific nonsense that you'd never expect of him, and when it comes to declassified CIA projects, that's one of those circumstances where completely unhinged knowledge beats common sense.
