@@mrcontroversy222 oilfield G3512 EIS engine. Second set of heads and turbos (first done at 35k to 40k range) they usually get the bottom end done around 65-70k hours but this one ran good so they left it in place. Mentone area on a CSI packaged compressor. Had an oil sweetner system, 45 day PMs.
I had a 3516 in our fleet that had 140,000 hrs on the bottom end. It had a combustion overhaul about mid way, but original mains. Granted it was a Natural Gas engine, not diesel, but still a shit pile of hours. They are damn good units.
Yeah it's one of the most reliable engines and easy to maintain....only topped by the 399, 398 and 379, they are gold dust with an incredible sound and enormous reliability.
That poor starter! Does anyone do proper maintenance before start ups anymore? Surprised that poor engine didn’t decide to say “fuck you” and spin #6 rod!
I bet you could char a steak on that poor starter motor. Looks like two experts really prepped that poor engine before they started winding on it. Probably had lots of life left in it. I said HAD....before this excursion to purgatory.

It was probably just carbon or maybe debris that got in the exhaust outlet when it was sitting outside.
