Too bad they stopped making highway truck engines (class 8). All throughout the '70s, '80s and '90s, the owner of my company bought strickly brand new long hood Pete's spec'd out with Cat engines. Back then, it did not get any better.
I think about how many more they would make if they didn't get busted for smog fraud. Whenever I see someone discuss diesel smog, I alys mentioned that I thought about getting a 2010 VW Jetta diesel, and I am glad I didn't. I would feel so embarrassed. Well, that's okay, modern German cars are usually a pain to work on.
