- A quick overview of the items I received at the Baltimore Pen Show that was held from March 1 to March 3, 2024. The pens I purchased include: Carolina Pen Company (Jonathan Brooks) Charlotte, Indelible Pens (made by Lotus Pens in India) and a Visconti Mirage Mythos in Apollo. I also received some ink, a notebook, a calligraphy set and a Pelikan magazine from the "bring some, take some" table.

I missed the freebie table! Lol. Great haul!!
Thank you. The freebie table was kind of low key this year. I had to look hard for it
Nice haul! Glad you had fun. One day I hope to go to a pen show 😊
Hi, Jennifer. Thank you. It’s a good time but it can be overwhelming too.
Thanks. Listening to you as I transfer some notes into my journal with my Wing Sung 699 Writer's Blood.
Wanted to hear about the pen show. I've never been to one.
Love the Visconti. Glad you could pick it up.
Hi, Jan! Writer’s Blood is one of the best. The 699 is an excellent pen. Mine have held up well. The pen show was great. I didn’t stay very long both days but made the most of my time. I’m glad I didn’t leave before grabbing the Mirage. It’s definitely an everyday carry for me now.
@@drawinsscribblins5326 spent several hours with my pens, cleaning or re-inking. Waiting on some new ink to arrive next week. As much as I enjoy the variety of pens I have, my EDC is still a Pilot Metropolitan. Ink capacity is the only letdown so I did order a Con-70. It's a combination of the nib with Pilot ink, but as much the ergonomics as anything. Just a fantastically well designed pen, at least for me. Anyway, just some thoughts before I shut down for the night.
Decided that I'm NOT happy with Noodlers Black. Almost a dark gray by comparison with my Waterman Intense Black. But I know others swear by it.
I swapped some parts between two of my Noodler Ahabs because of a leak. Great Ink capacity but I find the nibs just average. Not bad, just not special. Of course ink makes a difference.
For those like me on a budget I can't find anything better than Waterman at $10 US for 50 mil. Mysterious Blue never lets me down.
Nice haul! I especially love that notebook. I immediately thought the Indelible Pen WAS a Leonardo at first. I hope they will be at DC.
Thank you for sharing your experience, I’ll be attending my 2nd ever pen show, going to DC. Philly was my first because it’s where I’m from but it was not as crowded as I’m expecting DC to be.
Hi, Kit. I’m sure they will be at the DC show since they are so close. This year will be my first DC show and I’m really looking forward to it. I hear it’s huge.
The logo for Carolina Pen Co. is the state of South Carolina and their state tree, a Palmetto.
Hi, Peggy. I said an ink splat and NC. 😃 I was all off. Thank you!
Jonathan Weinberg is a friend of mine. He is in my pen club! Super nice guy!! You should join in on our next zoom meeting! I like that Visconti - maybe in a different color!
Hey there. Yes. I mentioned to him that I knew you. I would love to sit in on your pen club meeting. I think the Visconti comes in two other colors. Get one…you’d love it
@@drawinsscribblins5326 That's awesome, it's a good bunch of people and they know alot of other people. It's good to network. I think I'm going to go with Athena. It's a teal color. and I'm more a medium nib person. I think I am going to get it this weekend. It seems like a lovely pen.
Love the Apollo- I can’t believe how nice it is. I’ve got the medium nib and it is so smooth (also using Ancient Copper) which looks so good. I went to BWIPS and didn’t see many discounts there, but Pen Realm had some great deals plus 15% off. I brought home a Benu Talisman Hawks Eye from Smruti and it’s also very nice- though the Apollo’s nib is just a few steps ahead.
I missed the Pen Realm table. The Talismans are nice pens. I saw the reviews on the Apollo and didn’t believe it was as nice as it is. I’ve been writing with it everyday since. The Ancient Copper is amazing. We have good tastes 😊
@@drawinsscribblins5326 I’m also loving the new LMZ Hades pen which I know you have too! I’m using Diamine Cocoa Shimmer with it, but I’d like to find a black ink with gold sheen. Let me know if you have a good recommendation-- I might try j Herbin Shogun but not sure it’s the right fit. Enjoy your Apollo!
@@zeroseas Hi. I don’t have any brown or black shimmery inks. The closest I have is the Diamine shimmering seas which is a dark blue. I did look around and saw that Diamine also makes Night Sky and Sparkling Shadows which may be what you are looking for. Let me know what you find. I’ll be interested in that color as well. Flat black doesn’t do it for me.
I haven't gotten through the rest of the video but I think Osmiroid nib units are compatible with Esterbrook J's if you have any! That could be a great option for trying them out.
Hi. Thank you. That’s good to know. I have a couple of Esterbrook J’s if I can’t get the pen cleaned and working.
